Blythe had set up everything perfectly for once, he had secrelty talked to a close family member who lived nearby to get them approval to leave campus so they could meet Eve and her friend at the theme park for the day. Blythe had told Valentein it was a secret where they were going and had done everything he could to make sure she wouldn't find out. They were in the car and he was so excited that his legs were jittering as he couldn't sit still on the ride over. Their aunt had driven them over to the park and stopped at the drop off point. "You kids just call me and let me know when you need to be picked up. Have fun!" she winked at Blythe and smiled at Valentein. Blythe practically jumped out of the car, not able to wait any longer. He would have run off immediately if he hadn't had to turn around to make sure Valentein was right behind him.
"Here we are.... The surprise was a THEME PARK!!!" he exclaimed excitedly, holding his hands up to be extra showy about it.

Valentein had known the whole time where they were going. She was too smart not to have figured it out. Maybe that was for the best that she knew, as she purposefully feigned ignorance about the whole thing to play along with Blythe. Besides, after the stress of a few of her classes, she could really use a break from the usual. As they approached the park, she could feel her heart sinking, she hated the idea, but wanted to make Blythe happy. Valentein nodded in agreement to their aunt and exited the car. Watching Blythe be this happy
almost made her smile.
"Oh my. I had no idea I'd be at a theme park. Blythe you have truly outdone yourself." she manage to force through her normal deadpan voice as Blythe beamed in response. She had found over the years that Blythe could not tell that she wasn't being genuine even despite not sounding the slightest bit enthused about it. Valentein stared on for a moment and took a deep breath. This was going to be exhausting but she would endure it the best she could. For Blythe.
"Well, let us go inside." she tagged along closely behind Blythe as he walked. She knew what to expect from a theme park. Their mother had talked about them once and she researched what they were to understand the concept better, and came to find that it wasn't something she desired. In fact, she never expect to ever be dragged to one, so that in itself was a surprise to her.
Blythe paid for two tickets and entered the park with Valentein. As they came into the sights, Blythe's eyes widen in awe and he stopped in his tracks. He was speechless and excited. Valentein stared up at him for a moment, then grabbed his hand.
"Hey. she called out, tugging a bit. He was unresponsive.
"Hey!!" she called out louder in annoyance. Still nothing. She made a displeased grunt and stuck her other hand in his overshirt pocket, pulling out his phone. After a few button presses, she texted Eve.
"We are at the front gate." then put the phone back in his pocket. Tugging once more much harder.
"Blythe! Are you just going to stand here all day? Are you seriously going to make Eve wait on you to come back from outer space?" Blythe suddenly let out an stifled excited shriek and began to hop about.
"VALENTEIN! LOOK AT ALL THIS!!!" Valentein jumped slightly at the shriek, she hadn't seen him this excited since the last time they saw their mom. It made her happy, but also dreadfully sad. She swallowed hard and cleared her throat, collecting herself.
"You idiot! You're going to scare off Eve this way before I even get to meet her." She folded her arms with annoyance. She honestly didn't care to meet Eveilyn at first, but Blythe was so adamant that they meet, how could she deny him. Sighing again, she looked around at the crowd as a lot of people were beginning to stare at them as Blythe was still making a bit of a scene. She just wanted Eve show up already so they could start moving, looking around for a girl in purple. Valentein knew only what Blythe had told her about Eve, so basically her appearance and that she was really nice, sweet, and kind. Also, that she was a Fallen. That was the extent of her knowledge which bothered Valentein since she now sought to know everything she could about this girl that had seemed to enthralled her older brother. She hadn't even been told about the other nightmare that would be accompanying them, and honestly hadn't bothered to dig far enough to find out that had been the plan all along.
