Caedus watched as the senshi and knights made their decision; his gaze was intent and constant, as though he were afraid that if he looked away he would lose control over the portal. He had not moved once while the group made their decision, though when there were only a few stragglers, he seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. He moved, slowly, to relocate himself nearer to the single boulder on the ground. At first, he simply sat on it, and his whole form seemed tired. It was only then that he risked looking away from the portal. "…You remained," he prompted, observing each of their faces. It was not hostile, but curious. It was as if he were trying to read their minds from where he sat. His gaze returned to the portal a few seconds later. Solemnly, he inquired, "Was it truly out of concern for my well-being, or are you here to make sure I follow through on my end of the deal?" Quote: This roleplay is open for Order characters who chose not to enter the portal and have instead elected to remain with Caedus! Your character may enter the portal at any time and join one of the other ORPs, but you are free to remain here and speak with Caedus for as long as you like!

Irkalla, Page of CosmosIrkalla glanced briefly towards the duo (Teide and Hvergelmir) that she had been standing with. Her gaze kept tracking to the portal and the stranger that was maintaining it. It was something one certainly did not see everyday but she was still determined to stay behind. Since a significant chunk of the crowd had gone through the portal the atmosphere on the hill had quieted exponentially. Moving ever so slightly towards the open portal Irkalla glanced towards Caedus as his voice sounded in the night. The page of Cosmos tilted her head to consider his question. "I think I remained because I'm still too new to this war that we wage. I would probably be a hindrance to those that left." Her gaze drifted back to the portal and she watched the stranger sitting on the rock. "Will talking distract you from keeping this open?"

ScyllaScylla had remained with Caedus. It had been a hard decision for her to make, but in the end... "I made the decision to trust you, Caedus. And I just watched a large number of my compatriots vanish into your portal. I'm not an aggressor, not anymore. Could I be? Should I be? Varying opinions. But you're holding open that portal. If the Negaverse finds you, kills you, and closes that portal..." Jada shrugged, and bared her teeth in a feral smile. "They're coming through me. I may not hold them long, but I promised to get you home, and I want as many of those who went through to come home as possible. I'll do what I have to." Moving to where she had dropped the takeout, she picked up the bag and brought it over to him, dropping it down next to him. "Let me know what you need to keep your energy up." Irkalla had asked a valid question about distractions. But since Caedus had initiated the conversation, Scylla was inclined to think a little chatter would be okay. Still, they would see what he said.

Super Sailor ErosThe small senshi paced forward as the crowd began to filter through the portal, teeth worrying a lower lip studded with rings. The feeling she got from that portal was just... unnerving and creepy. It turned her off completely and she found herself really glad again that Puck wasn't here, dragging her through it. Maybe there was a small, very tiny part of her, buried deep, that felt just an ounce of remorse for not helping, but the far greater part of her was just glad she wouldn't be risking herself in something this obviously dangerous. When the figure spoke, she wandered closer, her fingers laced behind her head. "I don't know about everyone else, but I didn't stay here for you. I'm kind of ambivalent about that part, though you don't seem like a bad guy." She said as she stopped nearby, her eyes flicking from the cloaked figure to the portal again. "And I don't see any good in me going through that thing and getting myself injured or worse... but this is a big thing. I want to see how it plays out."

He sat on the grass with Denebola and Corvus, Celsus's legs drawn up so that his arms were wrapped around his knees. His gaze was focused elsewhere, however, looking somewhere to the distance, towards the portal, as though trying to figure out whether or not it was real.
But Caedus' voice drew him back to the present, at least it seemed to. Celsus turned his head slowly to rest on the figure.
"The latter," he said tonelessly, and silently he spread his fingers through the grass, an idle, absentminded gesture. "I told you I wished I could trust you, but I'm sorry, I don't."
A breath eased out of him, shaking slightly.
"I see no good to come out of this."

A few more stragglers had gone through the portal and Corvus had remained on her feet, watching them one by one until a final, familiar presence had shown up again. The Prince of Hail had arrived on scene and Sailor Corvus had left her post standing guard over Denebola and Celsus to approach him without giving much warning. Their conversation was short, words hushed and kept easily enough between the two of them. When he stepped through she had been tempted to follow, the part of her that had been born for battle in a previous life yearning to seek revenge for every wrong that had been done in this lifetime. She wouldn't, though. Expression still set in an angry scowl, Corvus returned to her companions. Her place had been here with the two of them even before Castor had returned to share his insight on the matter, but now she was considerably more wary of Caedus -- not that she had trusted him much to begin with. Drawing her cellphone out she entered a quick text to her partner, not trusting anyone who had lingered behind beyond the Senshi of Dragonflies and the Knight of Chronos. [ Text to Denebola: Hail says keep portal open. Does not trust Caedus. I hate everything about this. If anything happens to them... ]

Caedus nodded as he listened to the answers; he seemed strained, but had a forced calm about him. When the Scylla presented him the bag, his stomach growled; he was so focused on the portal that he didn't even seem to be able to afford embarrassment. "Thank you," he said to her, and held the bag close. "I am fortunate to have someone like you so invested in my well being. I can talk," he added, glancing to Irkalla. "I just cannot afford to let my mind wander too far. To maintain the portal requires focus, but I used to do this very often. I am rusty, but this feels… natural." He relaxed, almost immediately; Celsus was the only one who seemed to outright voice his distrust, but he trusted Celsus. At least, trusted him enough not to worry that he was in danger. Caedus seemed like he wanted to pick at the food she had brought him, but he forced himself to stay attentive. He was still mulling over Eros' words when he asked, "If something should come through that portal…something from the Negaverse. Are you comfortable with stopping it?"

Super ErosThe other people here seemed to have a grab bag of reasons for staying behind, ranging from trust and care to distrust and suspicion. As usually, Eros found herself standing somewhere in the neutral zone, committed to neither side and far more inclined to consider her own interests before theirs. Someone gave Caedus food, the rest gathered closer and she spared them all a curious look as she rocked on her heels, her teeth and tongue playing with the rings in her lower lip. The question he asked seemed directed at her, but could have as easily been for any of them, really. She gave it some thought though, as she chewed on her lip. It was an interesting question... once she might have said a firm and immediate 'sorry but you're on your own', but now? She wasn't so sure how she felt about it. Fighting off that negaverse agent, all by herself, had been something of a revelation. She could defend herself, if she needed to. If she tried. "I... might try, I think. If we have a chance of beating it." She said slowly, glancing at the others. "But I'll be clear that I'm not going to risk my life for anyone. Sorry, but that's just how it is."Pink eyes swept back to Caedus and Eros shrugged loosely.

Eternal ScyllaHis stomach rumbled, but he didn't seem inclined to open the bag, just hold it. Scylla reached out for it, letting him see her hand coming, holding it out towards him. "There are some eggrolls in there. You can munch without having to worry about anything complicated." She'd made him a promise, and she intended to keep it. Scylla recognized Corvus, and she had recognized others, but the majority here were alien to her. She'd been out of the 'loop' for so long, that the Senshi were growing and changing around her and she could hardly keep up. Her brow furrowed, and she looked at him curiously. "What do you mean it feels natural?" The question was less important when he asked if she was comfortable stopping whatever might come out of the portal. "I'm a senshi." she said simply. "I was part of the Blood Moon Court. I may not start the fight, but if something comes out of that portal that wants to eat someone's face, that isn't Castor on a bad day, you better believe I'd stop it. Starseeds, limbs, and as much blood or blood-like substance as possible is staying attached to and inside the bodies of everyone present." She was tired of people dying in this relentless fight. Why hadn't she gone through the portal, to help them end it? It wasn't fear; Jada wasn't afraid to die, if it would deal a blow. But she could still feel the blood on her hands from when she had murdered a Lieutenant to protect... It didn't matter now. Her hands shook, and she curled them into fists. perhaps it was fear. But it wouldn't stop her. She wouldn't let it.

EsquilineEsquiline has decided to stay on this side of the portal. The idea of simply walking into the main hub of a Negaverse was too unappealing. She'd rather stay behind, and make sure the hordes of people that left didn't get trapped by the odd man.
When he brought up that something might come through to portal to their side, she shivered. She hadn't thought about anyone but the other senshi and knights coming back. A fight was not something that she was looking forward to, but the girl supposed that she should be ready, just in case. That meant staying standing, even though her legs were tired, and the folks sitting on the ground look much more comfortable.
"I'll do it if I have to." she said. "Can't you just...not let it through though?"

Sailor Altais
Altais was all up and about during the hubaloo and when he caught the order signatures, he came like a moth to the flame! It was no surprise that he immediately latched eyes on a certain redhead before coming over and taking a seat with the small group.
His smile was wide, and he didn't seem troubled by the air around the group and the man. In fact, he seemed quite oblivious to just the whole seriousness.
"What's that?" He asked Denebola, elbowing her gently, "Who are they? Is something going on?"

Super Denebola
She hated this, even more so when Castor glided past and Corvus went after him. She'd tensed where she sat, blades of grass held between her fingers where she'd been pulling them apart out of nerves. She'd nearly climbed back to her feet when Corvus lingered by the portal, discussing whatever it was with Castor.
Before, she'd been willing to let the senshi of vengeance go, but now? Now she had an uneasy twisting in her gut that screamed, it's a trap, it's not safe, I can't lose you. Everything was too rushed, it was all bound to blow up in their faces and Denebola was just counting down the minutes until it did.
"I don't either. I don't think anyone properly understands the can of worms that have been opened today." She didn't and that worried her.
Her phone went off as Corvus rejoined them and her mismatched eyes skimmed across text.
[ Text to Corvus: I don't. Not after our conversation. I can't shake feeling like it's a trap. Do you think we're capable of doing what needs to be done?]
She'd hit send just as someone came bounding over to her. Immediately alarmed, her fingers dug into the ground and she nearly sprung to her feet. It was merely Altais and she relaxed immediately. "Altais," she said fondly, offering him a week smile.
"It's-- a portal into the negaverse. He's the one maintaining it--" her gaze drifted to Caedus eying the man with distrust. "We have to-- we have to be prepared if things go wrong. There will probably be a fight, I don't -- I don't think you should get mixed in this Altais."

Eternal Corvus Overhearing Scylla mention the words Blood Moon Court made the scowl that had never fully left her face after talking to Castor darken. She remembered enough of them, enough of what they had become, to not like anything about this situation even more. What if Dark Mirror scouts that Scylla knew came through the portal? Would she be able to stop them? Corvus glanced down to her phone again, scanning the text before shooting another one off. [ Text to Denebola: Chronos + Virgo still on this side of black hole. Zodiacs good at holding lines. ] She didn't include in the text how relieved she had been for the moment that Castor had confirmed that Chronos was still well, easing a bit of her worry that perhaps Celsus's state had come from losing his Princess. The last question of Denebola's was answered out loud, partially in response to the question Caedus had asked as well. "We will do what needs to be done, Caedus. You just worry about keeping that portal open until they come home to us." Then, to the senshi that had joined the Corner of Distrust, "I'm Corvus, he's Celsus, that over there," she gestured to the robed man before waving a hand in the direction of the rest who remained, "is Caedus and the gang. We're just hanging around until something terrible happens." Infinities For mention. Hello fellow oldbie! <3

Irkalla, Page of Cosmos
There was something in the way that the stranger answered her question that left a lot of questions in Irkalla's mind. Instead of asking all that she was thinking of she instead fell silent and watched the interaction between the others that still remained behind. This was all so new to her. Fear had kept her from going through the portal but it did not mean that she could not offer aid if it was needed back here.
She felt that if a threat came through the portal that she could help stop it. Although she kept that thought to herself at the moment. She continued to glance surreptitiously at the open portal as to assure herself that nothing had come through.
Exactly what could she do besides try to strangle any small critters. She shivered as a small gust of wind fluttered against her exposed skin. She plucked at her outfit with a small sigh.

Celliwig, Page of Earth "I brought my crys-- tal..." Celliwig sprang into the clearing, puffing softly as though she had run the entire way from wherever she had been to the park when she had gotten the summons (she had). She was late, as usual. Little burrs and brambles were sticking to her skirt from where she had cut through some overgrown brush in an attempt to take a shortcut and her hair was tumbled and tousled from the breeze. Violet eyes went wide as she glanced around before tucking the crystal away, dusting herself off and making her way over to browned haired young woman wearing the smart dress. Slits. Why couldn't her dress have had slits? "... What did I miss?" Her voice was soft and somewhat sheepish. "Celliwig of Earth."
