Upon arriving back on Earth and powering down, Fiona had wasted no time in leading Khaleel back to her flat. It wasn't a long trek, because she'd purposely picked a place that was near the center of the city so traveling wouldn't be much of a problem, but she kept a firm grip on her companion's hand in case he thought of wandering off.
The whole trip to Altais had left her off-kilter, like standing on the sand for too long had left her completely unbalanced even when she was back on solid ground.
She had a lot of questions, many that he couldn't answer and that she couldn't answer either. Only her past self could and Fiona knew what that meant. She needed to go back home, but the thought of going alone made her stomach twist unhappily.
She resolved not to mention it to Khaleel, he'd probably offer to go with her and the redhead wasn't sure it'd be a good idea.
When they reached her flat, she unlocked the door and pushed it open, gesturing for her companion to enter before her. She wanted to watch a movie, drink hot chocolate, and maybe build a fort. She didn't want to think of homeworlds or memories or a life that was but wasn't hers.
"What do you want to watch?"

Khaleel wouldn't wander per se, but maybe slowly take his time. He was processing a lot, as far as past memories, and understood now why the redhead had her...attentions diverted on her homeworld.
It was a painfully inconvenient place to get memories, it felt like.
His hand swung in hers until they were at her place, and to not sound much like a creeper, the young man memorized the street names and the area she lived in. That way, if he had any trouble, he could reach out to her.
"Dr. Who!" The man grinned at his companion and bounced in the home, "What lovely home! It is surprise to find people's decorations and things, always so nice." He totally took to the new surrounding like a fish in water and made his way around.
"Is that okay? Or would you like something else?"

There was a tan couch that sat across from a sizable TV mounted to a wall framed by tall bookshelves and a love seat that ran along the wall that separated her living room from her kitchen. Between the two couches, in the corner space they'd created sat a black wood end table with a lamp resting upon it along with a PS4 controller and TV remote. Beneath the TV was a media stand where the PS4 sat among various games, extra controllers, and a hoard of blu-rays that the redhead had been collecting.
Most of them were the re-released Disney movies, but new Marvel movies were scattered among them. There were few decorations on the walls, just one of her and her brother smiling from earlier in the year. Over all, outside of the necessities, her flat was relatively bare.
Carefully, Fiona toed her shoes off, leaving them on the polished wood before stepping onto plush, white carpet. She shrugged her coat off, padding over to the closet by the front door so she could hang it up. Then, she turned to Khaleel and mustered up the best smile she had. "Dr. Who is fine. Do you wanna start at the beginning or do you wanna start on my favorite episode?"
The Eleventh Hour was a cinematic piece of gold if she said so herself. It helped that there was a pretty redhead as the main companion. She always preferred Amy to Rose.
"Wanna help me make hot chocolate?" She asked, cocking her head towards the kitchen.

"We can start on your favorite episode! Never start a show in the beginning! Always in the middle! That's how you find out if you wanna learn about it!" Khaleel toed off his flops and let his toes curl in nice plush. Her apartment was very nice and he marveled at all the movies.
Where she went, he went too.
"Yes! and...Can we build a fort? Do you have blankets?" He wrapped his arms behind his neck. "Can we..." He waggled his eyebrows. "Snuggle?"

"Eleventh Hour it is," Fiona smiled leading him into the kitchen and going straight for the cupboard where she pulled out two mugs, one cat mug and a dog mug. Setting them on the counter she moved to another cupboard and pulled down cocoa power, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
She preferred homemade hot chocolate to premade mixes.
"Do you mind soy milk or do you prefer regular milk?" She had both and personally preferred soy, especially since she had the vanilla soy variety, but she also kept a small bottle of whole milk for cereal reasons. "And can you grab the medium sauce pan from beneath the oven?"
She lined up her ingredients in a neat row, glancing back at her friend curiously. Like she was seeing but wasn't seeing him. "We can definitely build a fort, I've got plenty of blankets in the closet, pillows too."
Can we...Snuggle?
Her heart seemed to stutter and she looked at hm blankly, like she couldn't comprehend what he'd asked. There was a pregnant pause before she wet her lips and nodded. "Yeah, we can snuggle. That'd be - that'd be nice." It'd been a while and after all of those memories, she could use something relaxing like snuggling.

Altais looked at the mugs and then reached over to hold them up, and then set them back down. "Can I have the puppy one?" He asked, pointing to it.
"Just regular for me!" He looked at her soy milk and cocked his head. "What is soy milk...actually?" He had heard of such things like goat's milk and sheep's milk, but never something like Soy.
"Oh good! I like to snuggle! Colin and some of his friends do it when they are over. Colin is my cousin! I am staying with him until I can find something else! I was suppose to find job? To pay rent, but It's been hard to be hired when you have no skills." He wandered back towards her.
"Do you always make it like this? My mom? She just dumps powder in. Adds whipped cream. She says it is her favorite treat. Whipped cream I think, not the hot cocoa."

"Of course," she replied automatically, not even glancing his way as she peeled lids off of the ingredients and set about gathering the proper measuring spoons.
"Soy milk is just a non-dairy alternative," she said easily, setting her supplies down and striding over to him as she plucked the bottle of whole milk from the open fridge. "But we'll use whole milk this time," she informed him, reaching up to pat his head playfully.
She started to mix things together, setting the pan over the stove and turning the burner on. "Collin?" Her head lifted and then - she was distracted. "I could help with that," she mumbled absentmindedly. "I know people, we can get you a job."
Chase owed her, her parents owed her, and there were probably others she could call favors to.
"Hm?" She had gotten distracted, stirring the mix automatically. "Oh yeah, i think it tastes better."

"Thank you!" He bounced behind her and tried his best to not like...hover over her. Cause he was kind of a hovering kind of guy. Especially to her! And that could be really creepy.
And it probably didn't help that he was still struggling with the past life memories. The intense amount of dedication that the Past life Altais had for Elu...For Denebola had been so overwhelming, he almost worried it would bleed into him.
But he really did like Dene, and he was the type to get attached to those he liked quickly.
"Colin is my cousin on my mom's side! My mom is french, that's why I have blonde hair and green eyes! But my dad is Jordanian, so that's where I get the rest!" He nodded, "But Colin is family and he's been treating me really well but I feel bad because I sleep on his couch and Nico eats his chicken nuggets, so its like...we're freeloading."
He stopped, "H..Help with it?" And then he looked down. "Do you put marshmellows? Anything else?" He was watching carefully because making drinks seemed interesting. Perhaps he could do that.

"You should introduce me sometime," Fiona told him, glancing over her shoulder at the tall man hovering behind her. "I'd like to meet him if you're going to hang around me a lot, he might wonder who you're spending all your time with." She laughed, bright and pleasant before looking at the pot and stirring the ingredients.
"I can get you a job," she said plainly when he expressed confusion. "I have connections, people owe me favors. I'll find you something as long as you promise to work hard okay?"
Even now she was making a mental list of all the people who owed her. That was the thing about doing favors for other people, it meant that when she called to collect on owed things she had a myriad of people to choose from.
"Sure, once it even starts to bubble we'll remove it from the heat and pour into the cups. I'll find the marshemellows. I can grab whipped cream too if you want."

"I will! Colin really likes people too, so I bet he would love you!" He smiled happily, bouncing again. "My cousin, is great man! He does many things. He is good ballet dancer, who does very well in his company! His friends, ah, some are ballet dancer too?"
He blinked and then cocked his head. "You...would do that for me?" He was so generally touched and so heart feelings and warm and fuzzy and...and...
"I will work VERY HARD." He said with so much enthusiasm.
"Okay! Just whip cream on mine though..." He smiled, "too much sugar is bad right?"

"Well, if he's your cousin he's going to have to love me," Fiona declared, with a light teasing tone. "After all, we're friends and I'm not going anywhere." It'd been a while since she'd had people in her life that she'd been confident enough to claim as her friends and Khaleel was one of them.
She didn't have any intention of letting him slip away the way Lucien had.
(She still missed the purple-haired man, a lot.)
"Of course I would, it's what friends do," she assured him, reaching for his face and stretching on her tiptoes to place a gentle kiss on his forehead. "I know you won't let me down." The tall blond was of the eager sort, he made mistakes but he tried and that what mattered.
"You got it. Whipped cream is better than marshmallows anyway."

"Colin will! I am pretty confident he will! Cause...well he's Colin!" Khaleel played with his cup, eagerly waiting for the chocolate which was giving off a heavenly scent and then the whip cream.
Her kiss on the forehead made him smile (with a small twinge of red at the ears) but beamed a smile at her all the more. It all felt so...Familiar really. The way they were and the way they acted.
Khaleel couldn't place it, but it was almost like Deja Vu.
"Thanks, Fi! For believing in me!" Khaleel added, "I've never had someone like you before in my life!"

"Well, I hope so," she replied quietly, going to collect the mugs she'd pulled out and deposit the homemade hot chocolate into each, with a nice dollop of whipped cream on top. She held out the dog mug to him with quirked brows and a teasing smile on her red lips.
"Of course Khaleel, you're my - " she paused, unsure of what word she wanted to use to describe him. They were friends certainly but there was also something deeper, an undercurrent of a connection that was strung between them. A reminiscent feeling of familiarity, as if they'd been here, done this, before. "You're important to me, don't ever forget that," she settled on instead before picking up her cat mug.
"Come on, the Eleventh Hour is calling our name and you promised me cuddles."

"Good, good!" Khaleel took his cup carefully and then headed over to their fort, setting it down and holding the blanket up Fiona to join him.
Then he wrapped his arm around her and brought her close.
"Cuddles and tv!"
