Remembering the Past
Prompt 3
Can be used toward Solo or RP req

It has been seven long years since the Great Oban Invasion. It almost feels like a dream, considering all of the changes that have occurred in Tendaji since the great war. A new King sits on the Oban throne, and he has opened the boundaries of Oba and Matori. Many already are taking advantage of the open boarders to travel and explore. The world was expanding and changing all things to the massive war of the great nations.

Since the war, Tendaji took a stand against the extremist Alkidikes and won. They came together to show a new alliance that many could never dream of. Everything was settling, and now that there finally was peace everyone has begun to to take a moment and remember all that has come and gone.

How have the major wars and changes impacted your character these past few years? Are they bitter for their failures or happy about their success? Do they see a peaceful future to come or are they concerned about those who may be still holding grudges?

Keilana was at home, the empty house a resounding reminder of how time had past by too quickly. Her sons had grown up, they now were going about their own lives and she was left to her own ends. Her brother was busy with his own life with his mate and adopted daughter. To say she was bitter, perhaps was an understatement. Moving about the house she cleaned up the only evidence she had that proved she even had children to begin with. Rouge clothing, misplaced books, animal ..well fur feathers or scales.

Sighing she walked past her hammer its large anvil something that caused her to pause. The surface was nicked and scratched from years of use. Moving over to it she ran a hand over the leather covered hilt. It was heavy and she had grown so use to its weight she preferred to travel with it than without it. Although there was peace across the land currently, her irate nature wouldn't allow herself to believe it would last long. Perhaps it was a rather negative way of thinking. To had little faith that the quiet times would last, perhaps she was just so use to having to fight she felt restless with nothing to do now.

Kneeling she grapped her oiling cloth and went about lovingly cleaning her weapon. Although she had tried to clean the leather on the hilt there were still old stains of blood, her own as well the people she had called enemies. It had annoyed her that she couldn't get it clean without completely replacing the leather but she also considered it a good reminder that times changed and not always for the better.

Despite the fact the Obans had a new king, she couldn't help but feel it was a trick. Borders were open but that meant little to her, she had no desire to travel, much preferring staying close to home in case something happened. Perhaps she was being paranoid, but she didn't care about the rest of the earthlings just her family and those she held dear. Old prejudices would always colour her opinion about the dark skinned people from the east. Or maybe she was getting too old and unwilling to adapt or change with the times.

Lovingly rubbing the hammer she put the cloth away after it was gleaming and went to stand up. Stretching she arched her back before she moved to head back to her room. Walking past a mirror she paused and turned to look back at her reflection. Her permanent frown deepened into a grimace, she used her hands to push back her hair revealing a pattern of scars on her face. Sighing she allowed her hair to fall back into place, trying to fix it so it looked a bit nicer but giving up quite quickly.

She was no longer the pretty young woman she was in her youth. Before her boys she had always considered her some what pretty, but now she was too war scarred and weathered. A face that never smiled naturally and she looked found herself examining the amount of scars she had acquired from the past. The clothes she had worn most of her life no longer suited her and she felt rather depressed about it. Shaking her head she tried to take a deep breath. Reminding herself that she had new armor being made and a new weapon as well. Glancing back to where her hammer sat she felt it deserved a permanent rest, although she knew deep in her heart she was only exchanging it for a different type of hammer.

Was she really expecting another war to break out? There were the Obans and then the extremist.. she had a hard time believing things were going to just be peaceful and happy. Sure for a time, but what if she gets too old to protect her family? What if..something happened and she was unable to do anything to stop it? Worrying over things like this Keilana knew wasn't healthy for her. All she could do was continue to train and hope that people would understand that she had nothing else she wanted besides protecting her family. She didn't need a man, she didn't need companionship... so why did she feel so lonely?

Thinking too much always made her brain hurt, rubbing her fact she went to step away from the mirror. There was stuff she needed to do. Hunting, mending, cleaning. She couldn't sit here and worry....for the rest of her life. Could she?
