At Large
Prompt 1

Can be used toward Battle req (or RP req only if done with a friend)
Solo word minimum is 500, RP post minimum is 7

It was bound to happen eventually.

With rumors of great beasts roaming the shores of Yael, many mainlanders flocked across the sea to capture the exotic beasts. In no time at all, they returned with large scaled monsters, dangerously translucent serpents, and turtles that carried the earth. These traders traveled across the Mainland to parade the beasts, going from Matori to Zena and everywhere between. Soon enough, everyone had either seen the Yaeli beasts or at least heard of them.

And they were sure to hear about the beasts when they escaped.

With such little knowledge of the foreign creatures, the traders underestimated the animals. In no time at all, the Yaeli beasts escaped into the wilderness and ended up near your location. With new creatures all but knocking on your door, what do you do? Do you dare to try and tame them, or do you run them off back into the wilderness? You better hurry, because these creatures are lost and scared, and are sure to cause some damage before they are captured once more....

|| The Yaeli familiars have been spotted in the following locations: Tintural (Oba and Matori), Keldari (Jauhar/Chibale and Tale), Limbara (Sauti and Zena). Only individuals in set locations can encounter the specific familiars.

|| If you are located in Yael, respond to this prompt as if you witnessing a mainlander abducting one of the newly announced familiars. Do you step in or run away? Use the same rolls below, but instead of subduing the beast, you are rolling to test your success for freeing it.

This prompt will be resolved by each player rolling 1D100 to test their success. (You can only roll once - there are no reattempts!)

xxxxxStage 4 must roll 30-100 to successfully subdue the beast.

|| Success or fail, completion of this event rewards you with 15 EXP!

|| If you roll a 95-100, you get to keep the familiar! Congrats!

Jacinthus was feeling a touch perturbed, his green eyes scanning the area before him, ears twitching a little. He'd spotted a strange new animal roaming around, one that he had never seen before but had heard the rumors about. They were from an island down the south, the same one that the zealots had been banished to, and he couldn't help but to wonder about those who had gone out of their way to go to that forsaken place just to steal animals. It became even more annoying in the mind of the ranger since the thieves couldn't even keep a handle on the creatures that they had stolen. Instead just letting them run amok, not even seeming to bother trying to recapture them. If they were trying, seriously trying, they'd of done it already. Instead the beasts were still roaming about.

It wasn't that he was like his nephew, he wasn't someone who worried about the beasts and their feelings, instead he merely wondered what it would do to the native animals. Would it eat them all and cause issues? If it became harder to hunt for food then it already was in Tale then there were going to be problems between those selling the strange animals and Jacin. He'd be damned if he let them ruin his home he thought to himself, ears twitching again.

Not one to just lay back and wait Jacinthus had fired an arrow the way of the weird, slithering beast, though it was a bit too far off and he ended up missing. Missing wasn't something that he cared for, meaning that it put him into a bit of a mood. He'd much rather be able to just take the thing out and then... well, he'd been rather tempted to cook it up. At the same time, according to the rumors, the island down south was full of toxic plants and beasts. Would it even be worth eating? Would it have been too dangerous to eat? He'd still admit that he was curious, never the sort to back down from eating something new and different. If he'd hit it then he'd of only been too tempted to eat the creature and if anything had gone wrong then Takoda could heal him. Takoda was always a good back up plan when it came to eating something new and strange that he found.

After a bit more scanning of the area where he'd last seen the beast he finally shrugged and gave up. No reason to stress out over the one that got away... but if anyone turned up selling the meat of one of the serpents he meant to buy himself some. It wouldn't taste as good as when he caught something with his own hands, but at least he'd still be able to sample a creature from a far off land. That at least would make it up to the ranger that he'd missed taking one of them down himself. The added bonus being that he wouldn't have to deal with his nephew being upset with him for killing some strange, rare beast. In that regard it became win win in Jacin's mind.
