Stage 2 must roll 50-100 to successfully subdue the beast. If you roll a 95-100, you get to keep the familiar! Congrats!
Roll = 98, NAE GETS A TINTURAL biggrin

Naevius looked at the crude drawing Varinia had brought her. Sebastien had come up to her room apparently while she had been busy with the business end of the Compound, the least favorite thing of hers to do. Yet, it still needed to be done so often times she’d sit down for a whole day and try to get as much done as possible. Nae preferred to do it all in one sitting rather than spread it out over a few days a month. Maybe that wasn’t the best practice to get into but she was still young and learning, she’d figure it out eventually.
Her attention turned back to the drawing. Varinia wasn’t wrong in thinking it looked like a Bushi. Nae studied the little notes scribbled all over the paper from apparently her conversation with Sebastien and the other beast tamers who saw this beast. The word “pet?” was written in the corner along with a few other possibilities for where this thing came from. Naevius thought it was unlikely that it was someone’s pet. A beast from Yael let out of one’s sight so easily? Didn’t seem likely to her. Nevertheless, the beast was in her compound and could do who knew what. Something needed to be done. There was no telling if it was aggressive or if it would agitate the beasts they already had penned up. Naevius set the paper down on her desk to be filed away later, likely by Varinia herself, and she picked up her whip and walked calmly down to the last known location.
The strange beast was nowhere in sight, however, and she stood there for a minute to survey her surroundings. There was something odd about the ground though, it was like a small little bump of disturbed earth. That was a little bit of a safety hazard if you asked Nae. She moved a little bit of the earth around with her feet to try and smooth it when a tiny bit of shell appeared. This must be the beast! So it could burrow under the earth? That was a good thing to know. Nae was happy it hadn’t found its way to one of the pens where it could burrow under the fence and wreak havoc or cause some beasts to escape. That would be bad.
She somewhat wondered why everyone had just left it. Likely it was because they didn’t know anything about it and therefore didn’t feel they had the skills required. Or perhaps, it was as Vari had wrote and they thought it was someone’s pet. Nae stood there for a minute and thought about how she could get this thing out and move it, so it was safer for all parties involved. Her eyes widened as she got an idea and went to one of the storage sheds that housed spare fencing materials. A longer thick board was drug behind her back to the beast and she wedged one end under the beast’s shell and she pushed with all her might on the other end but had no luck.
Her mouth made a small pout, perhaps she didn’t have the strength for that method. Naevius moved all around the beast, somewhat poking it with the board to see its reaction. When she got to its head its strong jaw locked on to the board and Nae pulled on it to try to get the board back. Before she knew it she was in an all-out game of tug of war. She relented and it seemed as she did so, the tintural pulled it back slightly and then dropped it. Naevius smiled as she got another idea and grabbed the board quickly and walked backwards with it and her smile grew as the beast began to follow, trying to grab the board. She managed to lead it in this manner all the way to one of their smaller enclosures away from the other beasts. ”You should be safe over her little guy. Just don’t try getting out.” She scolded it as if it could understand and talk back as any earthling would. She gave the board to it as a treat though and laughed as it laid itself over the board. Dusting off her hands, she went to tell everyone the good news. They had a tintural.
