At Large
Prompt 1

Solo or RP Format
Can be used toward Battle req (or RP req only if done with a friend)
Solo word minimum is 500, RP post minimum is 7

It was bound to happen eventually.

With rumors of great beasts roaming the shores of Yael, many mainlanders flocked across the sea to capture the exotic beasts. In no time at all, they returned with large scaled monsters, dangerously translucent serpents, and turtles that carried the earth. These traders traveled across the Mainland to parade the beasts, going from Matori to Zena and everywhere between. Soon enough, everyone had either seen the Yaeli beasts or at least heard of them.

And they were sure to hear about the beasts when they escaped.

With such little knowledge of the foreign creatures, the traders underestimated the animals. In no time at all, the Yaeli beasts escaped into the wilderness and ended up near your location. With new creatures all but knocking on your door, what do you do? Do you dare to try and tame them, or do you run them off back into the wilderness? You better hurry, because these creatures are lost and scared, and are sure to cause some damage before they are captured once more....

|| The Yaeli familiars have been spotted in the following locations: Tintural (Oba and Matori), Keldari (Jauhar/Chibale and Tale), Limbara (Sauti and Zena). Only individuals in set locations can encounter the specific familiars.

|| If you are located in Yael, respond to this prompt as if you witnessing a mainlander abducting one of the newly announced familiars. Do you step in or run away? Use the same rolls below, but instead of subduing the beast, you are rolling to test your success for freeing it.

This prompt will be resolved by each player rolling 1D100 to test their success. (You can only roll once - there are no reattempts!)

xxxxxPrentice must roll 60-100 to successfully subdue the beast.
xxxxxStage 2 must roll 50-100 to successfully subdue the beast.

xxxxxStage 3 must roll 40-100 to successfully subdue the beast
xxxxxStage 4 must roll 30-100 to successfully subdue the beast.

|| Success or fail, completion of this event rewards you with 15 EXP!

|| If you roll a 95-100, you get to keep the familiar! Congrats!

Both Anya and Sanele subdued it but no taming.

Anya post 1:

Now that she had a place to stay and learn, as well as be safe and not have to hunt for herself, Anya was settling down quite happily, enjoying the attention for sure, but mostly enjoying the access to being clean and having a room of her own again. What it meant for her, in addition to creature comforts, was also an access to information.

And lately all that people could talk about were the Yealians and the animals that had been captured and brought back! Large moving rock beasts, smaller slower beasts with sections of earth upon it, and see through crystalline snakes! All very exciting!

Sanele post 1
Sanele was headed back home: of course this meant a few days travel with a new xaraan and janarim.... which slowed her pace even more! You'd thin they'd be able to run and carry me, she sulked in a miffed thought, but no they just had to no want anything on their backs just yet! And she wasn't going to stress it till she got them into a compound where she could really train them.

When she spotted the ranch she breathed a sigh of relief; maybe she could get them semi trained here! Or.. she wrinkled her nose. No. She wanted to do it herself! They were her wild creatures she caught. She would prove to herself and the world she could do it!

As she approached she noticed an odd person leaning against one of the fence posts. Tall and with... was that antenna? Or a hair style?

Anya post 2

She was writing in her notebook, leaning against a fence post with her back turned to the wilderness. A bad move on her part. Instead she was furiously scribbling down words about the creatures, trying to draw them. It was hard when she had no idea what the yealian creatures were like! And to hear that some had escaped... she hoped it wasn't the snake or moving hillside! Those sounded scary! But the small cute moving turtle with a slice of earth upon its back... that sounded absolutely adorable! I wonder if they are toxic like their land? Or if they are poisonous like the Bushi? All these questions! If only one of those tamers would return here so she could see!

Sanele post 2

Sanelel made a motion for her animal companions to remain silent and proceeded to sneak up upon the odd figure. They must have understood.. or at least realized by her movements what she wanted! Because they crouched down and moved with her slowly creeping forward. Sanele was amused.. and a bit worried. I hope they don't attack! That'd be a bad thing! She just wanted to scare them!

She didn't notice off to her side more movement, movement of a small creature with a flower upon its back. It was hiding amid the brush beneath the large rock sigh posts that lay upon either side of the trail towards the ranch.

Creeping up she laid a hand upon the taller girls shoulder and said; "Yo."

Anya post 3
Anya shrieked as someone slung an arm about her shoulder. She bolted forward and turned to look at what was behind her and almost shrieked again at the sight of the beasts beside the shorter oban woman who'd scared her. Large, scaled, fanged... claws.... One was a Xaraan; much larger than her younger one! The other was a janarim; she knew that only because she and yitzah had ridden on one to oba. This one was all fangs and claws and scarier for some reason.. how had they gotten so close? It brought to ind just how skilled of a hunter both creatures were.. and that if they'd been wild she would have died.

She took a few deep breaths to calm herself down and glared at the other. "That was rude!"

Sanele post 3
Sanele laughed and grinned hugely; success! The reaction was just what she wanted! This must be what the returning soldiers called "bug women" she thought abstractly. The Alkidikes. Those large black orbs and antennae left nothing up to doubt. Apparently they were supposed to be tall, dangerous, and barbaric.. this one wasn't a warrior, was thinner than she would expect considering the rumors but did have the height for a "tall amazon."

And there's no weapon, Sanele thought, so either over confident or just unarmed and silly.

"Coulda been worse. I could be one who didn't like your folk and instead of a scare you'd be dead." She responded dryly and patted her companions on the head. They hadn't attacked and had instead just kept quietly by her side; perhaps they understood it was a prank and she wasn't going in for a kill. "You are one of those alkidike people right? Cause you really don't look like an earthling."

Anya post 4

She opened her mouth to argue but the oban did have a point... "Well.. maybe.. but still!" She huffed and gathered her tattered dignity about her.

"And yes, I am an alkidike and I am glad you aren't one of those who hate my clan." Apparently Alkidikes were still an unknown if she was asking that!

She squeaked and jumped back when both the animals suddenly moved and dashed off. Idunthinkthey'retamed. She thought as she tried to calm down. Dear Aisha look at them! Fast, quiet and deadly! I need to get a weapon or a guard or something! She clung to he notebook and stared at where they were now pouncing.

Sanele post 4
"I was there for the fight but who knows what else lives out in Tendaji--" She started to say when her companions suddenly stiffened and dashed off towards something moving about in the decorative flowers by the sign post.

"oi!" She yelled. "Stop that!" Had they found something? She ran off after them and pulled their tails hard to get them to back up. The growled and snapped at her, to which she responded to a slap across the beak and snout, making them back off and calm down. "Calm it and no biting." She growled at them; glad she'd had time to train them slightly and they considered her the alpha.

She bent and found the poor creature they'd been batting at. A strange creature with plants upon its back; "Odd..." She muttered as she picked it up and examined it.

Anya post 5
Anya, curious despite her terror of the two rather wild beasts, inched over to peer at what she'd found.

"Oh! A Tintural!" She exclaimed excitedly. "That's from Yeal! How'd it get here?" She mused out loud as she inched a bit closer, wanting to get a better look at it.

She flinched back when the janarim looked at her and gave a silent snarl when she got a bit too close to Sanele. "You ought to ... train them a bit more." She said as she hastily backed up.

Sanele post 5
She looked up at the slim tall girl. "A what? And how would you know?" She asked curiously as she flicked the janarim's leg when he snarled.

"They're freshly caught. The fact they obey at all is a blessing!" She retorted with a laugh. "Plus they like it when people flinch back. Gotta act confident otherwise they'll walk all over you." She put the creature back on the round and let it walk off. Much as she wanted to keep it, her current companions would view it as food; and Yeal was apparently toxic so no way was she going to let them eat it!

Anya post 6
Anya gave a shaky smile; "Well, tamers are already bringing the over to the main land and showing them off. I missed them but I heard from others who saw them about it. That one apparently sleeps in the ground of Yeal and the dirt and seeds get stuck in its shell.. which is why they have plants growing out of them." She wanted one for herself but didn't say anything as the other let it go free and kept it from being bit again by the wild beasts as it trundled away.

"It'shard to not flinch when one snaps at you." She said slightly plaintively; those beaks and teeth scared her! "But it'd explain why Noche is always snapping at me I guess even though he's super sweet." She sighed. Confidence? Maybe it would work.. and it'd explain why all the workers here seemed so confident and swaggered around!

Sanele post 6
"Already?" Sanele groaned and saw another lost opportunity. "I really need to head out to that Zena place and beat the others! At least that's' farther away so not as many tamers from Oba will go there..." And the ice tribe apparently didn't travel too much.. except Kiyelt had been here... She grumbled and wished she could speed up her training but not speed up time for everyone else!

"Noche?" She asked curiously as she put a hand on her xaraan before he tried to nibble at one of those long antenna that kept twitching. "It could also be the antennae.. I know animals like to bat at things that move..." She said out loud with a laugh.

Anya post 7
She put a hand to her antennea and looked offended. "I use these to help me see! I can't stop them from twitching! And Noche is Deserto De Noche, my Xaraan. He's younger than yours and smaller too. He was a gift from Bukekayo, the ranch owner here." She pointed over her shoulder. Kayo, as she called him, was a sweet man! Very kind and generous to her though he did seem a bit rough around the edges towards others. Maybe because she was obviously so young and out here? She wasn't sure.. but she knew he was nice enough to teach her how to survive out here in oba!
PostPosted: Wed Feb 24, 2016 11:36 am

Sanele post 7
Sanele eyed the alkkidike; a gift? From Bukekayo? She knew the name; hadn't realized how far out she was but she knew of him! He raised fancy Xaraan and was known for being a cutthroat shark towards the nobles. What did this alkidike have to offer him that he'd give one of his prized babies up?

"I've heard of him.. mind giving me an introduction? I think I better get these two here a bit more training before I take them home! I can train them myself but I will need a place to do so." And she wanted to present her boss with trained animals not half wild ones!

Anya post 8
"I don't see why not!" She said before she paused and cocked her head. "Though it might be best if I know your name? I'm Anya."

She lead the smaller oban off towards the main house where she might run into Kayo or someone who knew where he was. Anything to get those things trained! And maybe this girl would offer her some advice since she was closer to her age then the workers here... or tell her more about Oba since this one was willing to be chatty!
