Starry Nights
Al had his hands tucked behind his neck as he laid on tropical foliage of Denebola. The skies were so clear and the stars shined so brightly above him, that he felt a strong feeling of inner peace.
Something he felt he never truly had until he left Altais, and its sandy dunes and walls higher then mountains.
He was still adjusting to life on Denebola, and the task that required of him, but he was happy because he could look over and see Elu and see that she too was happy. She loved her homeworld and that was something he liked to see.
He made a small clicking sound and then wetted his lips, starting to whistle a song that was popular on Altais.

Suitors
Al watched as another suitor joined their company and Elu went about the boring process of courtship. She, to his eyes, didn't seem all that thrilled and he didn't blame her.
HArd to be excited for mister stuff pants from...
"Which one is this one from?" He leaned over and whispered to one of the villagers of the tribe.

Elu hated this, she hated being forced to sit and spend time with people she did not care for. It was not easy to paint a smile on her face for them, to pretend that she cared for them in any capacity. The only thing that made it bearable was that could spend time with Altais in the aftermath.
She chatted away with the suitor, eyes straying to where Altais and her attendant sat.
"Some planet in the Hydra constellation," the young woman replied, glaring at the man dressed up to meet her lady. "I don't like him," she admitted quietly, darkly. "My lady deserves better. She's been through a lot. He only wants her position. I overheard him earlier."

Suitors
"Pah." Altais made a waving motion and leaned closer to the attendant. "He looks stuffy, no? Wouldn't make it in the tribe anyways." He winked at her and then looked over, "Elu is smart, she will deal with him...."
Then he paused.
"What sort of suitor do you think fits?"

Suitors
The girl huffed, nodding her head as she folded her arms across her chest. "M'lady deserves so much better. She looks miserable." She hated watching her senshi have to sit there and play the part of the amused host.
She looked at the man with a curious look, a wry smile on her lips when she said.
"You. Someone like you sir," she said quietly, almost fondly when she looked back at Elu. "M'lady seems very fond of you. Not even m'lord Crims gets the smiles from her that you do.
Elu shifted, looked at the pair and offered them a weak smile, only turning her attention back to the suitor when he leaned in to kiss her cheek. She forced a smile in his direction then politely kissed his cheek in return.

Suitors
Altais grinned. "She is fond of me cause we are best friends of course!" He patted the attendants knee fondly, "But it would be nice if someone as nice as me came."
He rocked back and then watched as Elu gave the stinky man a kiss.
"Gross." He sighed, "Think I should try to rescue her?" He waved at her and then looked around.

The girl laughed at Altais' honest confession and she smiled proudly at him. "Wouldn't you want to be something more?" She asked earnestly, knocking her shoulder into his. "You make m'lady happy. Not much makes her happy anymore."
In many ways, she blamed herself for the senshi's unhappiness. It'd been her fault that Elu had been captured in the first place.
"You should definitely rescue her, she looks miserable."
Go be her prince, she pleaded internally.

Suitors
Altais hummed and hawwed.
"I am okay with being whatever she needs me to be." He patted Ileana on the head, "Okay, I'm gonna bring her back."
and then the shockwaves Senshi got up and started strolling over to Elu.
"Mistress Elu..." He said in his best voice and rested a hand over his heart, bowing. "There is some trouble...um...in the outlands and the Tribe request that you take care of it." And then he looked at the suitor, "We are so deeply sorry sir, but...Can she finish this later tonight? Her tribe needs her."
He was so good at this, look at him go.

Suitors
Ileana frowned at him, looking at skeptically like she didn't believe him. And then she looked annoyed as he ruffled her hair with the pat on the head. He'd left, so he didn't hear her mumble, "the problem is that she'll never ask you for more even if she wants it."
The girl wished that they would stop being so blind. If Altais just told Elu how he felt, both would be happier.
Elu's head snapped up and over when Altais' approached, surprise written across her face. "Al -" she stopped, looking confused before she cause the wry grin on Ileana's face. Sighing, she reached for her friend's hand. "I apologize, it appears this is very urgent. Until later." She bowed politely to her suitor who looked put out but didn't argue and let Altais lead her away.
"Thank you," she whispered lowly when they were out of earshot. "I don't think we'll see him again."

Altais totally didn't understand Ileana.
But he did understand Elu and he held his arm out for the woman, as she took his hand. "We apologize Master." Altais smiled and gave the man, over Elu's head, a swarmy looking smile.
The kind that said, you didn't make the cut, try again in a 1000 years.
but once they were away, he leaned in close and chuckled. "I don't think you need too. Boring? Did he talk of politics?" He was curious as to know what she looked for, so perhaps he could just whisper some hints to the chieftan.

If the man took Altais look, and intrusion, as offensive and left the planet shortly after the pair left him well - no one on Denebola seemed to mind. Except maybe the chief, who watched Al and Elu with careful scrutiny.
"He was only interested in what he and his people could gain from a marriage," she spoke quietly, didn't want anyone around them to overhear her. "My people come first and marrying him would not benefit the people of Denebola." She would inform her chief of her decision later in the evening. "He was more interested in talking about himself than to listen to me talk. I need a partnership, I am not a trophy wife."
She sighed, pulled her hair to one side of her neck and toyed with the ends. "I don't - I don't want to talk about the suitors anymore Al," she admitted quietly, glancing over at him. "Can we - can we just exist, the two of us, for a little?"

"Sounds like politics." He snorted, "If you were thinking of courting a woman, I think it should be done with her best intentions in mind. Happiness, stability and partnership! I'm glad they show their true colors though..." Altais snorted.
Her request was met and he switched topic almost instantly.
"I learned some more about the dragonflies! I'm still too scared to ride one though and everyone keeps offering." He waved his hands, "Like, in a ship, I feel really safe! But on a dragonfly, I could fall off and..." He smashed his hands together..."You guys are really brave for riding them like that?" He took one of her hands after and squeezed, smiling at her.
