Aya shuffled along the edge of the forest, his nose pressed curiously against the ground as she pushed the dirty around to make amusing patterns. Her nose finally bumped into a curious shape rock and she took a moment to admire it, streak of golden pyrite running through its marble grays and blacks. She nudged it with her nose before repeating the motion with her small hoof, enjoying the way it shone in the sunlight.
She had finally emerged from her basket a few weeks ago, having finally spent enough time awake to be curious of all the sounds and smells she could gleam from the outside. Her mother and father had kept a close eye on her and her two sisters, but Aya--who had decided just a week ago that Ayame was too long and formal for her tastes--had scampered away earlier today when her parents weren't looking. There were just so many new things to see and discover and she wanted to see them all.
'So many new things', she thought, abandoning the rock to check out a dried leaf hiding under some dirt. 'So so many!'

Endless thoughts clouded her mind as she walked along unaware of her surroundings. She didn't want to return home, though she longed to see her family, especially her mother. However, Cyano was never one to stay still; it was in her blood to forever be on the move. She wanted a not-so-boring life; she wanted adventure, but she had grown up sheltered. Her mother was not nearly so overbearing as she once was when Cyano was but a filly, but her mother's ever cautious nature had grated on her nerves; thus, this was the reason why she was edgy and always wandered about.
As Cyano walked along, not really seeing anything, movement caught her attention and she blinked. She stilled for a moment, wondering what or who had made her snap out of her thoughts. It's a... baby? She thought, amazed. What was a little creature like an usdia filly doing out on its own? Please, oh, please don't tell me its parents abandoned it! Worried, she carefully approached the cute, tiny thing. "Hello, there, little one. How are you? My name is Anas Cyanoptera. But you can call me Anas... or Cyano. I prefer Cyano, though." Ah, she was getting carried away and rambling. Making sure she was at a comfortable distance so she didn't scare the little filly, Cyano smiled. "What's your name?"

Aya perked up at the sound of someone approaching, turning her attention away from the funny looking leaf to see a stranger approaching. She had never met anyone outside of her mother, father, and two sisters, especially not a full-sized mare. She could feel her heart skip a beat in excitement.
She hurried over to where Cyano had stopped a few feet away and looked up at the mare, eyes wide and curious. She even had wings! Aya crept closer to the strange mare, unafraid, and heaved herself up on her two hind legs wobbly. Her small, undeveloped back legs shook but Aya was determined to see the finely crafted feathers closer for herself. She stumbled, unable to balance, but caught herself with one small hoof against Cyano's front leg.
She finally realized that she might be being a little rude. She looked up to meet the eyes of the mare, still balanced precariously on her back legs and leaning her weight against the stranger's leg. "Hello," she said, her head tilted to the side beseechingly. "I'm Aya. May I please see your wings?"

Cyano smiled with pure delight as the tiniest, more adorable creature approached her with little fear. She laughed as Aya stumbled onto her but managed to keep her balance. This tiny little filly had an amazingly bright future ahead for her. "It's nice to meet you Aya! Oh, you want to see my wings, do you?" she agreed happily. "Sure thing!" Carefully, so that she didn't knock Aya over, she slowly bent down until she lay down on her knees. Once she was comfortable, she spread her wings proud and wide.
"Here you are! Just don't bite," Cyano joked. She hadn't taken flight in a long time; she had been grounded for a few seasons now, so with this little one inspecting her wings in such a pure, curious manner, it made her want to see the sky. "Have you ever wanted to touch a cloud?" she asked Aya. Cyano always dreamed of touching clouds; she could fly quite high, but it was never high enough.

Aya grinned, giddy as the mare acquiesced to allow the small filly to see her wings up close. She stumbled back down onto all four hooves as Cyano knelt down to give her a better reach, and she didn't stop the excited giggle that bubbled up and out of her. When Cyano was finally down on the ground, Aya hurriedly shuffled over to examine the long, elegant wings. She gave another eager wiggle as she pressed her face up against the outspread wings, taking in all of the details of each feather. So pretty!
She boldly pressed her nose up against the wings, wanting to see how they felt. They were just as soft as she thought they would be! She buried her nose deeper into the downy soft feathers, enjoying the feeling of each long feather brushing against her snout. Then, mischievously, she opened her mouth and gently chomped down on the corner edge of the closest wing careful to not press too hard on the appendage. She met the eyes Cyano and giggled again around a mouthful of feather.
She bit them back out gently at the question, taking a few steps closer to Cyano's face to look her into the eyes and nodded enthusiastically, her head bobbing up and down so fast she got a headache. "I have! I bet they feel as soft as your wings do! I wish I had wings so I could find out for myself!"

Cyano found herself just adoring the cuteness that was Ayame. She smiled wide. "You want to see what the sky and clouds are like? How about I take you for a ride, Aya? It'll almost be like you've got wings too!" Ayame was so small, she probably wouldn't weigh a thing for Cyano. Of course, when Ayame got older, Cyano likely wouldn't be able to carry her places anymore, but for the time being... what land creature wouldn't want the opportunity to soar the skies? It was a wonderful feeling, and Cyano sometimes wished she could take those she cared for flying just like she was about to do for Ayame. "Hop on, but be careful! Let me know when you're ready... and we'll fly!"

Aya eyes got wide at the suggestions and she let out a squeal of excitement. Her legs scrambled forward, scrambling across the ground as she vibrated out enthusiasm. "Really? Really, really, you will take me flying?" she squealed. "Thank you, thank you!" She nuzzled Cyano side affectionately, burying her face into her wings and then giving another happy nuzzle into the mare's neck. Cyano was the nicest! she thought. The nicest ever!
Aya scrambled up carefully onto the mare's back, careful not to step on her wings or any place that might be soft and vulnerable. She did a quick circle as she looked around for a good spot before nestling herself carefully between the mare's neck and her wings. She sat finally, her front legs carefully clutching onto Cyano's neck before giving the mare another excited nudge with her nose. She couldn't believe she was going to be able to fly!
"I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready!" she said, trying to keep herself from jumping up and down in happiness. "Can we go now? Please please please?"
