Dyakida stuck to the outskirts of the settlements today – the rains of the wet season made venturing out into the jungle – blind - for resources very dangerous. Peyla guided her to a crystalline rock or two, but soon had to retreat as the sky, far above the canopy, thundered again. Her wings, after all, would not work in the rain. ”Futile.” She complained, holding a leaf over her head to shield her from the rains. She couldn't find materials without a pair of eyes, but she also couldn't make her way home yet. She needed new resources to continue her projects and she wanted to get those projects done soon. She glowered, sightlessly, at the sky and the pattering leaves. Did it have to be the rainy season when everyone who would assist her was indisposed? Did everything have to coincide to leave her alone in the rain on something approximating a deadline? It was annoying.

The battles that Rishima had dealt with to clear out a nest of menzuri had been dangerous ones, but they were over now. It was a rather good feeling, that of knowing he'd done something that would help many people. The menzuri were too dangerous to be allowed to do what they wanted to do. Sure, they were simple beasts, and not malicious per say, but that didn't mean that they could be allowed to stay. No, what he'd done was for the best of all those who might want to partake of the water source that the menzuri had sought to take as their own by spinning their webs around it. All that was on Rishima's mind now was getting back to Andile to check in with those that had hired him and then heading for home to let Gerraden know that he was alright. That was until he spotted a familiar face in the distance. It had been some time since he'd last seen Dyakida, but spotting her now brought a smile to his lips. He supposed that his report could wait a little while longer he thought to hismelf, wnating to say hello to the sister that he'd not seen for a while. Walking over to her at a quicken pace he called out to her, not wanting to startle her by getting too close first, "Hello, sister, long time no see!"

Dyakida perked up at the sound of a voice. It was familiar and male. She thought it might be a Brother, and she remembered that there were positive associations with that voice. But aside from that... She had forgotten who, exactly the voice belonged to, or whether they would accept her calling them brother. It had, after all, as they said, been a long time. "Hello!" she greeted, smiling in his general direction - Remembered or no, familiar or no, that voice was hope in the miserable rainstorm. It belonged to a pair of eyes and strong arms (unless he was missing a limb? There was no real way for her to tell.) who could help her in some way. She'd take any help that he could offer at this point. "It has! Your voice is familiar, but I'm afraid I've forgotten your name..." Peyla peeked out from her temporary shelter by Dyakida's feet and chimed a somewhat miserable greeting. She didn't entirely remember him either, but she liked him, and he had pretty eyes.

Rishima blinked a couple times, wondering if he should be bothered by the fact that she didn't remember him. He supposed not since it had been a while since they last spoke and she was blind, for him to expect her to remember him by voice alone wouldn't be fair of him, would it? Giving a smile he said, "My name is Rishima, sister. We met a while ago." Also in the forest he thought to himself, though the weather had been a lot nicer he recalled, lifting his head to look into the rain for a moment, then back to his sister once more. He was quick to cover the distance between the two of them, coming to stand alongside her in her where she stood, glad to be out of the rain for a time. He lifted a hand to squeeze some of the water out of his hair, before he said, "Quite the storm, huh? I'm glad that it wasn't this bad when I was on my hunt earlier." That would have been quite the mess, having to deal with menzuri and a down pour. Something he didn't even want to think about given that the rain would have made everything slick, which in turn would have made everything more difficult in general.

"Rishima..." Ah, yes. She knew the name. "It was indeed a while ago! You were a... Warrior, yes?" She struggled to recall the memory. There wasn't much. It had, after all, only been once, some time ago. By now, surely, he was more than a warrior. If their sisters would let him. Either way, they clearly lived in different parts of the jungle and he didn't patronize her for her weapons. Still, though. It was always nice to meet someone she knew, however vaguely, out in the wilds. She laughed. "It is, isn't it. I'd hoped not to be stuck out in this weather, but..." well, she had been. "It is very difficult to gather materials in the rain, especially when one's guide is... indisposed." Or whatever kept Peyla from flying in the water. Peyla chimed at Rishima as he approached, her delight at an odd-colored person's approach subdued by the fact that she couldn't leave her sheltered hidey hole to touch his face or play with his hair... It was a misery. Dyakida appreciated the chime at the right moment. She wanted to ask him about his hunt, but first... business. "Perhaps you can help me, Sister... I'd like to get home, but I'd rather not return, unguided, over muddy paths and slippery stones..."

He was a warrior? His antennae gave a thoughtful twitch at comment, he supposed that he was, though there were some days that he really did want to take a break from all of that. It seemed to be one battle after another some days, though some of those battles were more meaningful then others. Giving a smile he said, "Yes, I am a warrior." Rishima's eyes were drawn to the sprite as Dyakida said that she was having difficulties gathering her materials in this weather due to her guide being indisposed. He supposed he could understand, the rain must be hard on the little sprite's wings, "I see, well, given how heavy the rain is it mae sense the poor sprite is having problems. A shame since that means that you're having problems as well." He found himself giving the rain a glance, seeing it in a new light. To think that it could actually slow someone down this much, it really did make him hope the storm passed sooner then later if that would make things easier on his sister. "Hm?" Help her get home? He found himself thinking that one over. He coldn't really leave her here now could he? Reporting back would need to wait, meaning that Gerraden would have to wait as well. He could only hope that neither those waiting for him in the village nor Gerraden would worry too much while he ran this new errand. Giving a smile he said, "I don't mind helping you get back home. Where are you staying these days, sister?" He asked before offering his arm, making sure to bump it lightly against hers so that she'd know it was there.

The way he said it... She had meant the rank of Warrior, given to those Alkidikes that had reached a specific level of skill and prestige. But he had said it as... An occupation. Something even more meaningful. "Thank you." she said, dignified but grateful as she inclined her head respectfully as she took his arm. "Emeka is my home, usually, but I am staying with friends in the settlement nearby. That is..." she raised her face to the rain in chagrin, "... home enough for these purposes." It was an offshoot of Andile, pleasant enough for a pureblood. Peyla sensed that they were leaving and ran out of her hidey hole, a leaf held over her head and wings, chiming unhappily as she sought out a suitable shelter on their persons. She scrambled up Rishima's leg and tried to hide under his hair before determining that that was not the best of places and jumping to her alkidike's shoulder and under her cowl. She peered out, chiming and shivering with wet and misery. Dyakida moved her hood over her head, apologetic to the shivering form by her face. "I really appreciate this, sister... I hope it does not take you too far out of your way?"

"Emeka? I can't say I have gone there too often, but from what I know its a nice village." He said, realizing as he thought on it that he wasn't really going a lot of places of late. If it didn't involve errands of some sort he was being a bit of a homebody these days. He was fine with that though, home was a nice, calm place, one that he was able to enjoy without worry. A place that he would protect no matter what. Giving a smile he said in a reassuring manner, "I will make sure that you get back to where you're staying safely, sister, you needn't worry about that." Giving pause for a moment Rishima dropped his gaze to watch as Peyla tried to take cover on his leg but seemed to only stay there a moment. It seemed his leg wouldn't work out and that brought the little sprite to hiding under Dyakida's hair instead. Giving a soft chuckle he said to the gloomy sprite, "Hopefully things will dry out soon. I'm sure that will make it far more comfortable for one your size." The rain had to be much more of a bother for a tiny critter, huh? "No, not at all. I have a quick errand to do in Andile and after that I will be heading home, which is a small piece of land outside of Andile." Everything was all pretty much in the same area so it really wasn't out of his way at all. Not that it would have stopped him from helping her even if where he wanted to go was far away, she was his sister after all. One couldn't just leave a sister in need out on her own.

"Ah. Good." She said, relieved. While it was expected for Sisters to help out Sisters in need, she would not have liked to think that she was seriously inconveniencing him in any way. It sounded as though he was not inconvenienced at all... but she resolved to offer him supplies or something of the sort anyway. For his trouble. "It is a nice village." she agreed. Rain splashed on her hood, soaking it. It was, though, some protection against the rain. She'd have to look into waterproofing it someday. "But much of my business is in Andile these days. The market, you know." It was nice that he was getting along so well with Peyla - the reactions to her sprite ranged from annoyance to adoration. But then again, Peyla did favor hybrids and earthlings. She played fewer pranks and caused less michief to them. To others, however, her boredom was a bane. For now, she seemed to be relegated to shivering miserably by Dyakida's face, wings tickling her cheek. Clearly, the creature would need something warm when they returned home. "So tell me, Sister, how have you been?" she asked, making conversation. Much had happened since she last heard this man's voice and name, after all.

Rishima gave a smile, "Yes, the market does seem to make it a more important place. They have all manner of useful things no matter what it is that you're wanting to do. I myself have taken up cooking of late as a hobby and they provide me with plenty of useful ingredients." It was a great place to pick up things so that he could cook up hearty meals for Gerraden each day. Since the battle in Sauti he'd wanted to do anything but fight, which meant a lot of spoiling the young male. "I've been... alright. Time has passed since what occurred in Sauti but I still find myself shaken by it." His desire to do anything in the way of travel was lacking, as was the desire to do much in the way of fighting save for against menzuri since they became a threat to all those that Rishima was wanting to protect. It just felt at times as though he was just too tired and run down to want to fight anymore. Looking to his sister he asked, "How about you? How have you been doing of late, sister?"
