Dyakida had been told to expect visitors in a few hours. Her informant hadn't told her that the newcomers walking up to her home were hybrids, but Dyakida had already known that. Lasarra was known to her, and her children were... vaguely known. Mostly, that they existed. Why Lasarra was coming to her, Dyakida did not know. She had only been given the message a few days, after all, and it was a polite missive asking her permission. Her permission was, of course, not needed, but the letter was appreciated. It was always good to know when guests were arriving. She assumed that it was for a weapon. Possibly for conversation, though Dyakida didn't think she was that interesting. Why she was bringing her children was a mystery, but they were welcome to come as long as they didn't ransack her rooms. Dyakida carefully laid out a selection of leathers on the table – Lasarra's weapon was, after all, a whip and she had been curious about making one for a while. With access to traders and merchants from all over Tendaji, there were a lot of different kinds of leathers to choose from, some with very different properties. Colors, too, but she would leave the selection of those up to Lasarra. Who would, if she had heard correctly, be here soon. She called Peyla to her and waited, patiently, outside her door...

Lasarra
Lasarra needed a new whip, and although she knew many earthlings that made weapons it was Dyakida who she trusted to make hers. Although it was partially because Dyakida was a sister of hers, an even bigger part of the reason she went to the woman was because her skill was unparalleled. Even with something like a whip, which was something she wasn't sure Dyakida had made before, she was sure that the woman would do a spectacular job.
Today she was bringing Lasseyn with her, her other daughter too busy with Ray to come along. Eventually she wanted to bring both girls to see Dyakida, but she thought that maybe one at a time was pretty good to start off with. Mostly because they were still young and Lasarra found that keeping an eye on one of them was easier then keeping an eye on both of them, but she still thought it was important that they meet Dyakida and see that not all sisters walked the same path, even if it wasn't their choice.
"Now, what were the rules again?"

Lassyen
Normally going places with her mother was boring and came with a lecture, but Lasseyn knew that this time it would be different. Although she had never met Dyakida before she had heard of the woman from her mother and what she heard was amazing. Sure the visit came with a lot of rules, but she was going to get to see weapons and that made it all worth it.
"Don't touch anything and be respectful. If she needs me to grab something then I do it, otherwise don't touch anything." She rolled her eyes, they had gone over the rules many times already.

Voices. One of which she knew. She's here Dyakida thought, Rather, they're here. she corrected, as she heard the little voice. If they were setting ground rules, then the child was welcome in her home. They were, after all, very good ground rules. "Is that you, Lassarra?" she called, waving. Of course, she knew - Voices were distinctive - but it was a suitable greeting none the less. She couldn't remember the child's name, but she was sure it would be provided. "Come in out of the heat - I have chilled tea." A gift from a hybrid of her aquaintence, one who had chosen the path of sorcerer and had used ice magic to make some refreshments as a thank you for their newly made staff. The enchantment they had placed on her pitcher would not last longer than the day, but in Jahuar, such things were welcome.

Lasarra
"You're so smart my dear." She said as she ran her fingers through her daughters hair. She had full faith that her daughter wouldn't break any of the rules. She wasn't strict with either daughter, but they both knew that there was consequences for broken rules.
At hearing Dyakida's voice Lasarra walked into the house. "Yes it is, and I have one of my twins Lassyen here with me today. They are both well behaved, but this one is much more interested in weapons. Though she knows the rules."
At the offer of chilled tea her eyebrows rose slightly. "I haven't had chilled tea before. Sounds wonderful, especially here in Jahuar." She would want to look into getting something like that at home if she could. After working outside all day with her animals cold tea was something she would cherish.

Lassyen
She stuck her tongue out at her mother with a playful smile.
At hearing Dyakida's voice she was slightly startled, but followed her mother inside.
When the woman came into view and her mother introduced her Lassyen bowed at the waist. It took a second but as soon as she remembered that the woman before her was blind she was mentally hitting herself in the head and stood straight once again.
"Thank you Miss Dyakida. Mom's told me a lot about you, she says you're super talented." She took the time to study the woman's appearance. She was a pureblood, that much was obvious but she didn't look at all how Lasseyn imagined her. She looked strong, even though she couldn't see she some how seemed like she could at least hold her own.

Interested in weapons and knows the rules - that was good. It would have been irresponsible for any parent to let their children near weapons without rules. It was worse than the Extremists had been, demanding weapons even as they disparaged her and her customers. Those women had no real rules, no lines they would not cross... But they were no longer there. "Hello, Lassyen." she said, holding out her hand in greeting (and reasonably sure that at least one of the two had forgotten her blindness and done something silly. It happened.) "Thank you." she said, trying not to grin - she always did like to hear good things said about her. Hearing that she was the best, extremely talented, amazing - these never got old. They never would. "Chilled tea is a wonderful." she said, leading them inside, a hand on the wall, and then the table to guide her. The pitcher was on the table, her own clay cup half full. She retrieved two others and set them down, "Help yourself." she said. "I've set out some leather strips, if you'd like to take a look. You may look too, Lassyen." she added, "Leather can be used to make whips, of course, but it is also the backing for gauntlets and shields, and can be a source of strips for tying spears and stringing bows - if you use the right kind." Dyakida explained. Well, Lassarra had said that Lassyen was interested in weapons, after all. Dyakida also knew that leather - especially the nice leather she had managed to purchase through her contacs - was great for clothing, and even armor, but Dyakida did not make armor. The occasional darning or repair, sure, but not armor. She had never made a shield or gauntlets before, either, but she was curious about trying them one day - weapons that were not quite weapons. "What about weapons are you interested in, Lassyen? The making of them? The using of them...?"

Lasarra
When they got to the table Lasarra poured two cups, one for her and one for her daughter. She listened to Dyakida talk, enjoying the look on her daughters face. What she wouldn't give to be a youngling once again. The world was such a wondrous place when you were young, full of new things. So into her daughters happiness she almost forgot what she had come for.
She moved over to look at the leather, all of it of wonderful quality as she expected. She was gaining respect among her peers, both in the world of Beast Taming and as a contributing member of her town. Although the whip that she currently had was a good one, it did what it was meant to do, she wanted something better. All of them were nice, but there were one or two that really stood out to her. They were longer then the rest, and she liked her whips to be able to reach long distances. Not so much for when she was working with animals, but should she ever need to fight a longer whip would give her a longer reach.

Lassyen
She took the hand that was offered towards her, shaking it firmly but gently as she had been taught was proper.
Listening carefully she only looked over at the leather briefly, she was much more interested in what the older women was saying. There were so many things that leather could be made for, it was awesome. She really hadn't given what she saw as a simple material as much credit as she should've.
"The using. My sister is the builder, she likes to build all kinds of things." She rolled her eyes. It didn't seem exciting to Lassyen, though maybe if Riona built things like weapons that would be a little cooler. "I think I want to use a crossbow, or maybe a masterwork bow." She had seen both weapons used before, and honestly she couldn't help but think they looked awesome.

Dyakida hoped that Lassarra put the strips back as they had been - it was Dyakida's main assurance as to which strip was what quality, and her only assurance for color... but she trusted the hybrid. Lassarra was a good customer. Maybe she should meet the other twin someday, too... But for now; "Really? Well! I can always use someone to test my weapons..." she put a hand on Lasseyn's shoulder, noting that the girl was still small - it was amazing how small children were, and how big they became. "When you're bigger, perhaps, though." she aquiesced. "Ahh, the crossbow." she drew back, nodding, "A precise, careful weapon... I would have wielded a bow myself, had I become a Blade." she told the child, "Now I wield a chisel and an awl, and make the bows." she chuckled a little, though she was thinking intently. Crossbows were complicated and bulky, and tricky too. They were so powerful, though wholly different from a normal bow in every respect but the act of projecting. She wanted to make one. "I wish I had a crossbow to show you." she said regretfully. She didn't even have a prototypical one - she hadn't had a reason to make one, nor any examples to touch and learn from. Someday, though, she would learn its components so that when a Hybrid like this little part-sister came to her and asked to be a sniper, she could arm them as she would any member of her tribe. "Perhaps one day, though, I will have one to show to you." she added, consolingly. That was entirely possible. Maybe she would be able to craft a crossbow by the time this little one was a prentice, maybe not. "Did you know," she said, "That a crossbow bolt can go through even metal armor?"

Lasarra
She listened at Lasseyn talked to Dyakida, happy with how respectful her daughter was being. Although she knew that they raised both of their daughters well they were their own people and sometimes they could do and say things that weren't exactly what Lasarra would like.
She placed the leather down, inspecting each and every one of them. There was a darker one in particular that was interesting to her. "Where did you get this one? It's the fifth one from the right, dark in color and longer then most of them." Although she was sure that Dyakida knew which was which from the placement it didn't hurt to describe it some.

Lassyen
Test weapons, Lassyn's eyes went wide. "I'd be a good tester!" She said eagerly, putting her hand over Dyakida's in what she hoped was a reassuring manner when the older woman touched her. She wanted to be trust worthy, hopefully that meant she would be able to test all the weapons!
"That would be cool! Maybe I can get mom to find one in town and bring it to you? So you could see it?" Mentally she slapped herself. Dyakida couldn't see anything! She should've thought of something better to say, maybe feel it? It was too late now.
"Metal armor! I knew leather, mom says a bow can do that also, but I didn't know it could go through metal also. That's awesome." This woman knew a lot about weapons. Hopefully she could come and see her again sometime.

Dyakida laughed. Children were, also, incredibly enthusiastic, willing to try something before their elders could catch up. This was, she knew, balanced by their sometimes-inability to see things through to the end, but could one blame them? They were children, and there was so much to do. "I'm sure you will be!" she said, "I will count on it." Her mother asked a question, and Dyakida tilted her head, thinking. Fifth from the right... yes, that would be a darker color. "I was told that it is Mammu hide - apparently, their skin is often dark, to absorb sunlight and heat, regardless of their actual fur color." she said. She reached out to touch the strip, confirming. "I bought it from a trader in Neued whos supplier apparently has tanning down to an art." They had been selling strips of the tough, supple leather but she'd also managed to buy a larger portion of the hide that they were cutting from. So far, it had served her well in her craft - a good purchase. "That would be very good of you!" she said encouragingly to Lassyn, waving off the faux pas. If she had a crossbow to inspect and take apart, she could really figure out it's workings. Such a precise, powerful weapon would be a boon (and it might help her make better bows, who knew?). "Well, it can - theres a mechanism behind it that makes it stronger than an ordinary bow, and also lets it hold it's force until the moment you need it. Of course, the drawback is that it can only be loaded with a single bolt at any given time and, I hear, it takes some time to re load it, but... well... that is simply a trade of strength and accuracy for speed." she said, realizing belatedly that she might have been talking at too high a level for a child. "I've heard that some use it as something other than a weapon, though."
