Laurel had set his plushie stand up right when the Jubilee party started so he could catch the very first people as they arrived. However, because of the newest additions to the academy, the Bakenekos and the Nagas, he'd been distracted more than once. He couldn't really expect himself to focus, though, espescially when Bakenekos were basically Vespercats with two legs... Well, at least they were to him. He'd probably approached five of them in the last hour, offering plushies and doing his best to not pet them without permission, but all in all... He'd been pretty calm.
"Handcrafted Jubilee plushies, free to a good home!" He called, waving one of them around in the air before going back to his sewing. He was planning on making more as he waited for people to approach him and he was pretty proud of the progress he'd made since he was little. But, even if he'd made progress, he still made plenty of mistakes while working. Of course that was only natural, he was still learning, after all!

Matilda wandered around the large festival, marveling at the frilly decorations and dozens upon dozens of hearts. Her big green eyes took in all of the stalls she could see, tables neatly set up with food and refreshments, and other treats to make, give, and receive. Little Tilly had seen a bunch of new people, with forked tails and fuzzy ears and shiny scales too! Festivals were always fulled with fun and exciting new things!
The little hybrid rustled her wings, grabbing the end of her tail to fiddle with as she tried to decide which aisle to toddle down when she heard someone announce something about plushies. Her fluffy ears perked up visibly as she scanned her mossy green gaze across the venue before they landed on a large pile of stuffed bunnies.
Tiny wings aided the Freshling in zooming over to the stand, only to stop a few feet away, marveling at the lovely creations. She could juuust peek over the edge of the stand, catching the eye of the Demon behind it. She gave him a small toothy smile, then lowered her gaze to his tiny works of art.

Laurel, having finished his next set of stitches, raised his head to look over the plushies he'd made. However, he couldn't help but giggle when he saw a face grinning at him from behind the plushies as he turned, and moved to cover his mouth with his hand. They looked like such a little cutie-pie with their floppy ears and little wings! He set his sewing aside and grinned.
"Hi there, I'm Laurel!" He greeted, scooting his swivel chair closer to the table. "Are you enjoying the festival? I haven't seen everything yet, but it looks like a lot of fun!"

Matilda's gaze traveled across all of the different brightly patterned stuffed rabbits, her chubby little claws just itching to pick one up and give it a hug. She giggled with Laurel, his laugh proving to be infectious to the little imp-chimera girl. Her wings fluttered as she tried to peer farther over the mountain of plushies, ending up on her tippy toes to meet his eyes again. It helped that he scooted closer to the edge of the table too.
"I'm Matilda, nice to meet-cha!" she chirped, giving him another wide smile. "Oh yeah! The festival is super duper fun, there are new people here to meet, and some of them look like vesperkitties! I hope they're nice. There are also lots of crafts to do and gifts to give other people! Oh, and games to play!" Little Tilly was going a mile a minute, zipping on about all the things she liked about the festival. She slowed to a halt as she ran through her list, remembering why she was standing there in the first place. "Oh yeah, did you make all of these? They're super cute!"

Laurel beamed as Matilda spoke, simply overjoyed to meet someone as enthusiastic about the festival as he was. He set his sewing to the side and continued to listen, before becoming equally as excited when she mentioned the people who looked like vespercats.
"Aren't the Bakeneko adorable?" He blurted, letting out a short squeal. "I never thought I see someone like that, you know, with cat ears and tails! I almost couldn't believe my eyes!"
He really could have gone on a bit longer just talking about how wonderful he thought the Bakeneko were, but got distracted by Matilda's question.
"Yes I did, and thank you! I worked really hard on all of them." He said, patting one of the plushies. "Do you like any of them? They're all free to good home!"

Matilda was able to build off of the purple demon boy's energy, diving deeper into her list before he cut her off with his exclamation. Matilda didn't even mind, not a bit. This demon was fun! She nodded vigorously and smiled at his remark about the Bakeneko, putting her little paws on the table to boost herself up more. "Some of them are super fuzzy too! Even almost as fuzzy as me!" The little imp/chimera girl's tail flicked as if to punctuate her own statement.
Her eyes fell back on the little floppy-eared plushes, scanning the bright piles of patterned fabric choices. "I like all of them! But I don't think it would be fair to take one of each. There's gotta be enough for everyone, even all of the new people." She gave the pile another careful look, her face screwing up a little in concentration. "Which one do you think needs the most care?" the little purple one asked, her green gaze rising to meet his again. Lavender Hues she'll take the lilac one, but we can take it one more post to decide if you want to draw it out a bit more to make concluding it easier

Laurel couldn't help but beam back at Matilda and observed her paws. Yes, she was just as fuzzy as some of the Bakeneko he'd seen! She'd probably fit in just fine if she walked in a group with them!
"Oh, uh, that's true! There are still a lot of people who probably haven't arrived yet, either." He agreed, before turning toward the pile of plushies. Hm, which one needed the most love? That was a very good question, one that he wasn't sure he had an answer to! The demon hummed and tapped his chin as he considered each fluffy face and finally reached out for the first plushie he'd made for the event.
"This one's been sitting here all morning and they're probably a little lonesome." He said, offering them to Matilda. "Do you want to take them home?" Delicate Rose Bud Well, I think this is my fourth post and we need five each for the rp to count. I think we can wrap it up by then?

Matilda's cheeks were starting to ache just the smallest bit from smiling so much, but she could hardly help it. Being at the festival was just so much fun, and was filled with so many nice people, just like Laurel! She started bouncing on her fluffy little feet while she waited for the demon to select a plush for her.
The minute her mossy green eyes landed on it, she knew it was the one for her. "That one's perfect!" she squealed, plucking it from where the boy had placed it and cradling it in her arms. "He's purple-ish, just like me! I love him, thank you so much Laurel!" she gave him the brightest of smiles, and was about to reach into her little coin purse for a brass piece before she remembered that it was free. That didn't seem quite fair, she at least wanted to give him something. "Can I give you a hug for him?" she asked, edging towards the corner of the table as if she wouldn't take no for an answer (well, maybe if it was a polite 'no, thank you').

Laurel's face lit up with delight as Matilda took the plushie and cradled it. It made him feel so warm and fuzzy inside when people liked his work. He felt like he was making a difference in the world by making people smile, as corny as it sounded.
"Perfect? I'm so glad!" He cheered, practically exuding joy and excitement. "I forget where I found that fabric, but I'm very happy that I did because it turned into the perfect plushie for you!"
He nodded furiously to her next question.
"A hug? Of course!" He said, bending down to her level. "... You know, that's a great sign! Hugs for plushies! I think I put that up right now!"

Matilda's eyes sparkled at his highly enthusiastic consent to her hugging him. He even got down on her level, which let her give him a really nice warm hug. "Thanks again for the plushie, he and I are gonna have a lot of fun at the festival! I hope you have some fun too, and that all of your plushies find good homes!" With that, Matilda gave the Junior Demon a wave and toddled off, pleased that she managed to make two new friends (one with horns, one with floppy ears). She hoped with all her might that every festival turned out as nice as this one.
