The Silver Tongue was hopping on a Saturday night, filled with young twenty somethings out to have a good time as it usually was. Like every other club in DC, it drew a certain sort of crowd, and unlike other cities, the crowd here in DC was particularly eager for what the rainbow DJ up on the stage could offer them. With the high crime rate and the danger at night, it was particularly important to have a way to escape it all. TST was not as fancy as it's name suggested and that was part of what Sidney liked about it. She liked it peeling around the edges, a little dirty and a little small. It felt intimate and maybe it was just her, but she liked to think the people who came to these smaller clubs had a more particular taste for her kind of music. Lights strobed and flashed while lasers cut through the air above the moving heads, swirling to the beat that flowed from the speakers. Sid was particular proud of this set, she'd worked very hard on it and it was a bit of a departure from her normal stuff. The woman singing in it had been a street performer she'd found by the school and talked into recording for her. Her voice was smokey and rich, a lot heavier with character than some you hear these days on the radio. Sid had been charmed immediately and resolved to have that voice threaded into her music. Once the playlist was properly queued up on her laptop, the DJ swept her headphones off her head and dropped them on the table beside it before she headed for the bar. She wove easily between the dancers and drinkers, long used to the patterns of their movements, till she fetched up against the sticky surface of the standing bar. A jaunty wave and an inviting smile got the bartender's attention and before long, her usual Long Island was in front of her, no questions asked. Jo was a good guy, easy to flirt with. He'd been totally cool with her letting him know what she'd want ahead of time so the ordering went easier during the show. He even seemed to know when her set switched and she'd becoming in for a drink, because more often than not, he had it waiting for her. A pleased smile on her lips, Sid took a long sip of her drink before she picked it up and spun to lean back against the bar, taking a moment to survey the people around her for anyone who might prove interesting. She had a while before the playlist was done... she could have a little fun socializing with someone cute.

Finding the right balance in life was becoming increasingly more difficult for Levi Drummond. He had to perform up to his superior officer's ridiculous standards and hope that, at the end of it, he had the energy left to perform at work. There were seldom any spare moments left for him to spend in places that he simply went for comfort. So when he did get them, he made sure every second counted - even if his idea of comfort was questionable. Overhead the bass pounded and the lights flashed in synchronized, unavoidable bursts. Yet Levi seemed content sitting atop the creaking barstool he had claimed when he walked in, sipping on a murky amber drink topped off with an orange slice. One elbow supported his upper body as he leaned it on the bar, while both of his lanky legs ended with his booted feet hooked over a stool rung. His bright, acid green eyes roamed the crowd of bodies as they danced and mingled, then came to rest on the top of a very bright bob of hair over the DJ booth. His gaze followed her a she stepped down into the crowd and crossed, curious. She seemed as playful as her colorful persona suggested and, curious enough to break his typical vow of silence, Levi decided she might be worth talking to - while she had the time. "This is your set, right?" He leaned sideways a little so that he was closer to where she stood, languidly stretched against the bar. The pose gave him a solid view of the length of her body and his eyes shifted quickly, down and back, though it seemed a more quizzical glance than heated.

She never liked to settle for the first pretty face she saw, especially when that face was right there at the bar with her. What if there was someone better, just past them? She didn't have all night to play games with people, not when ever break was timed to the playlist she had up. She had to be sure that when she went for someone, that someone was going to be interested back, otherwise, it was just... wasted time. He took the choice out of her hands though, leaning over so she knew he was talking to her. Magenta eyes slid to the corner and she smiled as she looked him over a little more closely. Not far off her age, that she could tell. Dark hair, bright eyes. Acid green, and she really dug that. Tall, too... and she really dug that. Shifting, Sid crossed her feet at the ankles and angled herself a little towards him, elbow braced on the bar top and the metal in her face catching the flashing lights. Typical club night wear tonight, short skirt, ragged tights, crop top, so she felt confident she at least looked good. That was always important when you performed for a living. "Yeah." She laughed as she played with her straw, swirling the ice around her glass with a soft rattle. "TST gets to enjoy me tonight, before I flit off to somewhere else. Are you enjoying it, or is it too step trash for you?" Her head tilted as she teased him and the explosion of color on her head fell to brush her cheeks, framing her bright eyes. "There is some stuff edging on techno in there, and I like to mix it up between dub, trap and chill so no one gets bored."

"Getting bored is kind of inevitable, isn't it?" He smirked around the rim of his glass as he raised it to his lips and drew a long swig of the sweetened whiskey. He set the glass back down on the napkin he was using as a coaster - call it nitpicky, but he hated water rings. The tip of his tongue darted across his lip quickly, catching the lingering sugar from his Old Fashioned. "What I mean is: yes, I like it. Tonight." The smirk on his lips was lingering as he trailed his eyes over her outfit. She was a wild burst of color, spewing passion. It was young and wild and uninhibited and a part of him found himself eager to know that feeling again. His own outfit, by contrast, was much tamer - a dark hooded vest over a simple, cotton long sleeve shirt and ripped jeans. It said I belong, quietly. "But only because I'm in a good mood. Tomorrow I might be bored of it - and there's nothing you could do to stop it." The bright acid eyes searched hers, sharp but playful, their edge softened slightly by the smug grin stretched across his face. They had a different bite when he wasn't in such a splendid mood. His hand released the glass he was holding and extended to her for a shake, ice-chilled fingertips and all. "I'm Levi. Your transitions are pretty impressive - especially for someone that's trying to please everyone at once."

The DJ smirked at his 'eventually' and her eyes lit up with the challenge he tossed her way. It turned her smile positively predatory and it was a shame it lost some of its effect when she wasn't wearing her fangs. "Who cares about 'Eventually'?" She said as she slid closer and took his hand, leaning in with a coy look up through her lashes. "Aren't we all just living for now anyway? We could all be dead tomorrow, so who cares if this music loses flavor over time? It's fun tonight and that's all I care about." She didn't so much shake his hand as held it, her fingers sliding across his palm to tease the softer skin inside his wrist with her forefinger. His hand was cold, but so was hers, and it was a pleasant thing to think about how they would feel on heated skin. This close, there was no need to speak too loud, which was nice. "You can call me Chou. I'm the Technicolor Butterfly and if you haven't heard that yet... You will. I have plans." She laughed as she stroked his wrist again, making no move to release him until he took his hand back. She sipped her drink in the other, curling her tongue with its vibrant stud around the straw to pull it between her bright painted lips. "Not tonight though. Tonight is working and maybe finding time to... Squeeze in a little fun between sets. And after, of course." "I'm surprised you don't have some pretty thing under your arm yet. Nothing interesting to play with?"

The boldness she displayed made him smirk. Oh, he'd seen others like her - girls that lived and breathed for the scene, who loved passion in all it's varieties. The skinniness beneath her outfit suggested she either ate too little or partied too much, maybe both, in the end. Yet, he didn't pull his hand back from hers as she started to dance her fingers over his skin, and he even managed a small, amused smile for her. "I'm a talent scout, Chou. I know the ins and outs of almost every venue in Destiny City - I know all the DJs, all the bands, all the managers." He brought his glass up to his lips again and drained it easily, sliding the empty vessel back to the bartender's side of the counter once it had been emptied. As his gaze swung from the last drops of sweetened whiskey to the tongue ring she was flashing at him, a long laugh escaped his lips. The alcohol was buzzing along his veins and drowning out the last, lingering bits of his reclusive nature. That was why he drank, after all. "What kind of man would I be if I just let the first thing I saw distract me every time I went out?" His hand moved so that he could slide his fingers up her wrist in turn, drawing chilly cold lines in her skin as she mirrored her own along his forearm. The first touch of a new person was always interesting - and she took most of the uneasiness out of it by being so damned bold. "But I'm definitely interested in playing with the right choice of entertainment."

Her eyebrows lifted and Sidney gave him another considering look over, though there was heavy dose of skepticism in her gaze. A talent scout? Really? He didn't look the part. He wasn't dressed any better, though he certainly seemed to carry himself with the attitude of one. He looked like any other dude in a club, which cast his statement in more of a 'claiming cool job to hit on a girl' light. Especially as she'd admitted to being Talent before he had started calling himself a Talent scout... which was ultimately amusing for her, because if he was lying just to get her to sleep with him for a chance at getting discovered, then he was trying way too hard. She would have slept with him for a wink and a smile, in all honesty. Having a good time totally trumped any job someone had. "Ah! Then you know all about me." She teased him as his cold fingertips ran up her arm. It pulled goosebumps from her skin and a smile onto her face. "Excellent. So you know that I'll do anything to please my audience." "So, the question becomes; do you think I might be the right choice in your entertainment tonight? Or would you like a little... audition first?" The DJ leaned against his leg finally, letting her hip rest against his knee. It was hard to say how he was going to take her rather blatant offer, but she made it anyway. Better maybe to get the brush off now, than to spend time flirting it up and have it go no where.

The lack of interest in his job was, actually, a huge bonus for him. The moss-haired man rarely talked about his job to her type. It wasn't that she wasn't good it was simply that a DJ was a hard sell - they were a dime a dozen, youth's next get-rich-quick scheme. They were hard pressed to stand and often, by attempting to do so, they became one-trick ponies. Say the words 'talent scout' too loudly and he knew he would wake some half-dead zombie from their slumber to thrust a mixtape in his face. "I don't yet," he mumbled as his eyes trailed down her form, now closer to him, to meet the point where her hipboned leaned into his leg. Wordlessly, he shifted, until he could spread both knees and pull her between him, caging her in with his long legs braced on either side of her waistline. It trapped her within the lines of his body and with both hands free, he let them drop and loosely rest against her sides. "But I think I will soon. What I want in entertainment isn't always the same as what my business wants," there was a smirk on his lips as his eyes dropped from her bright ones, down to her lips, and lower without pause. "I wouldn't be opposed to watching an audition, though."

Sid shifted as he did, giving him room to slid his knees around her hips. It was a bold move on his part and a great big green light for Sidney, even without his playful banter. As his hands came down on her hips, her own settle on his knees and slid up his thighs in a warm stroke as she leaned a bit of her weight into him. "I didn't ask what your business wanted, handsome." She all but purred, her fingers dancing up his pants till she could find the seams of pockets to dig the tips into and use like handles for his hips. "I want to know what your personal taste is." Releasing his pockets, she pulled back out of the corral of his legs, hooking one hand in his waistband instead. She tugged at him to get him off the barstool he was sitting on, her eyes bright with invitation. "Come on, lets go somewhere a little more private for that audition, hmm?" She chuckled as she pushed the stud in her tongue between her lips, rolling it playfully back and forth. "Its kinda loud and public out here. I might get stage fright... Or you might."

"My taste varies," the words were a low murmur as he leaned into her weight just a fraction, letting her pull herself into him by the grip of her fingers hooked into the pockets of his trousers. He wasn't sure if it was the drinks or just a woman very good at her art, but he couldn't find it in him to pretend he was interested in the club one heartbeat longer. "I do like sweet things." When she pulled at his waistband, he rose like a servant beckoned, ready to follow her anywhere - especially at the sight of the stud she rolled deftly between her lips. A slender hand raised and plucked at a lock of her rainbow hair, drawing a smirk to one corner of his lips. Stage fright? He doubted it, but he also wasn't opposed to somewhere more private. Not with this little temptation. The hand in her hair dropped to his other at her waist as he pulled her tighter against him, staring down at her through an obvious height difference that left him looming above her. "Are we going backstage, Butterfly?"

The DJ smiled as he reached to play with her hair, giving him a playful look through her lashes. Being pulled back into him made her laugh and she reached to tap the end of his nose with her fingertip. "Of course!" She purred. "All access pass, courtesy of the Technicolor Butterfly. I'll give you a tour of all the best places and you can tell me more about these tastes of yours. I'm sure I've got something you'll like." Sid allowed herself to be held for a moment longer before she pulled out his arms and then tugged him along behind her. Her pace was confident as she led the way passed a door with a 'Staff Only' sign, not the least bit concerned that her new friend didn't work here. No one was going to say anything and the room they let her keep her equipment in would be perfect... nice and private for a little private party of her own.
