A little pale-haired hybrid trotted behind a caretaker, pulling along a wheeled trunk of luggage. This was a big day - Hikaru's zaza, Kaoru, had just earlier dropped the child off at the Academy for their first official day of school. This made the little kid incredibly nervous, as he'd never really been away from his parent before. He'd come to visit Asphodel Gardens a few times before, but had always been accompanied by his zaza before. But now Kaoru had a deadline and had to rush back to Grendel, and thus didn't have the time to help him settle in.
First, he was told, he would be taken to his new room, where he would meet his first roommate. At the very least they were expected to get along, but hopefully also befriend each other, as apparently the boy he was to room with had been by himself for a while, now. Hikaru was hopeful - he did like people, though he hadn't exactly spent much time around his peers.. instead, his life up til now had been surrounded by adults at his zaza's university.
They were nearly at the end of the hallway when the caretaker finally stopped, knocked at the door and opened it. Hikaru instinctively dusted off his clothes a bit and quickly fixed his ribbons - he had to look presentable!
Heart pounding, he stepped inside the room, holding up a hand in greeting as they were briefly introduced. "Willow, this is Hikaru, your new roommate. He just enrolled today. Help him unpack, would you? I will come fetch you both in a bit to take Hikaru on a tour of the grounds", the caretaker said, heading back to the dorm office.

Willow waited on his bed, book firmly in hand. He had been here, alone, for awhile. He had been warned he would most likely receive a roommate at some point due to Dakota signing him up for that, and he had shrugged it off before. Out of the hundreds of rooms he didn't think he'd need to worry about his own becoming preoccupied by another living being that wasn't himself or his familiars. His two familiars, a Pumpka and Fennekit, had sensed his distress, curled up on his bed as he tried to read away any worries. His primary worry when he had been told about the new roommate was losing his chance to hoard familiars. Everyone who knew Willow knew he was fully intent on having as many familiars as he could possibly get away with, but now things were complicated; someone new was moving in. Someone who could have allergies, or a dislike for familiars.
That, and his family life was hectic. He didn't want questions. Prodding. Someone to ask and wonder and try and sway. It was one of the reasons he'd grown so quiet lately towards his group of friends. He didn't want to talk. They had questions, he didn't have answers. Rarely did they ask how he felt, and instead why everything happened. It was hard, and now here a new person was coming. Ugh.
Willow heard the knock, closing his book and wiggling off his bed to approach the door. It opened without him doing so, causing a brief moment of panic as suddenly, without his consent, a new person entered his room. No, not his anymore. Their.
He was taken off-guard, blinking back at the Imp as if something foreign was presented to him. Their colors were not too bright. No, they were appealing. They even had a cute bow. His head raised as the caretaker spoke, hand briefly touching the new roommates in a shake before he removed it, nodding in response to the caretaker. Help unpack? Okay. He could do that. Once the caretaker was gone he looked back at the other - Hikaru – then traveled their eyes to the luggage. Now the question was.... what did the roommate bring?
"Hi." While he sounded vaguely... uninterested, behind that mask was a nervous little child who didn't know what to do. "Your bed is there." He pointed at the bed on the other side of the window, hand extending to help lift some luggage.
