 Winter was not his favorite season. He disliked the cold. He also wasn't really fond of the snow which was falling rather heavily. He let out a light groan of irritation as he walked through the blinding snow, he needed to find some shelter before he froze to death in this freezing mess. The blue galaxy patterned kalona continued his way towards a dense forest.
He had hope the trees would block some of the wind for him so he could see better. Shin-Ah blinked his eyes as they tried to regain normal focus as he glanced around for a cave of some sort or even a fallen tree capable of protecting him from the blinding snow. Each time he breathed a puff of smoke escaped "Damn." he quietly said to himself. Nothing in sight quite yet. He continued to walk on, his movement making light crunch sounds in the snow.
The trees did much better then being out in the open. The snow fell but it wasn't as brutal with the wind. His wings attempted to stretch but they were frozen and wouldn't budge. His glances were frantic and desperate for shelter...

 The scorching heat of the wastelands was unyielding and brutal during the day, and icy cold at night. Tiamat had never seen snow before... Her hide rippled quietly whenever flakes landed upon her, and she kept her wings tucked closely against her sides so the thin membranes wouldn't grow stiff and frozen. This was fascinating to her, in truth! What a bizarre world this was. Plenty of food and water to partake in, a landscape that changed with the seasons... and, perhaps most surprisingly, a lack of apex predators to take advantage of the situation.
She'd discovered an occupied bear den and had chased the sleepy inhabitant out into the snow. After all, it had a nice thick coat to protect against the cold! Her hide might be tough, but no one stayed out in bitter temperatures unless they were desperate. Tiamet settled quietly into the den, peering out at the frozen landscape with a snort that had steam trickling from her nostrils.
Imagine her amusement when she saw the winged creature tromping his way through the snow, her ears pricking with interest at the sight of his odd multitude of tails writhing behind him. "You're gonna catch a cold out there if you don't find some shelter soon..." She laughed, her tail lashing once before it coiled around her hooves. Did she feel like being nice? Well, she'd already eaten, so it wasn't as though she was sizing him as a potential meal.
"Maybe if you ask prettily, I'll share this space." Tiamet laughed again, for the thought was particularly charming.

Through the piercing brutal wind he could hear a voice speak from a cave. He paused in his tracks and turned to meet eye to eye to a mare, at first glance he was unsure of his safety with this one. He wasn't exactly the most bravest or strongest of the kalona breed. He looked to her amused by her words. Was he to play her game or freeze to death?
The idea of taking shelter with someone that seemed capable of killing him didn't exactly sit right with him. His eyes narrowed "You'd like me to beg for it, wouldn't you?" he growled.
His guard was up. Who knows if she was alone or not. He wasn't about to risk it.

"Beg?" She threw back her head and roared with laughter, adjusting her wings "I hadn't even considered that. Will there be a quaver in your voice when you do? Will you shed a tear? Why, I could be the great and merciful being that grants you salvation in this dark and icy hour! Yes, that does have a nice ring to it." Tiamat chortled to herself, baring her large teeth with mirth.
Some of these creatures were delightfully stubborn. In truth, this one had sense for not straying blindly into her recently claimed den. Anyone who would nestle up with an apex predator likely wouldn't live long enough to sire young... Still, after a moment, she shifted to the side, clearly making room for the stallion.
"The offer's open, darling. Hide from the storm or keep walking. It really doesn't make much difference to me."

Shin-Ah watched as the mare laughed at him. His eyes narrowed at her comments and he thought about just walking away. How come it couldn't be a sweet maiden in the cave offering him shelter? As he sighed in the cold his breath could be seen. It was no use, if he did stay out here and continued searching for shelter he'd end up freezing to death. Though she had made some comments and he knew he'd never cry, not for anyone let alone for his life.
He was no wimp. He just wasn't exactly Kalona material. Probably not worth passing his genes in his kind. The stallion just tilt his head as he watched the mare make room for him in the cave. He would have to swallow pride and take shelter. Turning into an ice popsicle because of his stubbornness didn't sit well for him. So, the blue galaxy colored stallion approached the cave and entered it.
Shin-Ah kept to his side, but his eyes glanced at her in weary. What should he say? Perhaps he should thank her. The kalona bit down and opened his mouth "Thanks." it was honest but straight to the point. It's not like these two were going to develop a friendship..
