Lumikani was up early, greeting the sun and her great cousin before moving to the pen by her house. Inside were two creatures, both of similar stature. In one corner slept her radaku, his war paint bright but also looking a bit smudged from his slumber. That was something Lumi knew she would need to address today, possibly with a nice bath. Azubuike would enjoy the attention, considering the newest creature in their family.
In the other corner rested Masigo, Lumikani's pride and joy in this new land. She was part of a great expedition, and was one of the first to return with a Limbara. Other sisters were envious, but the creature was still quite small. It matched the size of her radaku, but Lumikani knew she would all but double in size.
Yes, Masigo would make a great mount, and hopefully some day Lumi would pass the creature on to her own bloom to lead the defenders against any and all invaders.
Lumikani may not be happy with the hype around the Elaria blooms, but that didn't mean she hadn't begun to get the same baby fever as the rest of the tribe. Everyone saw this as a chance to begin strengthening their sisterhood, and Lumikani was more than ready to try her hand at contributing to the future.

Giving a thoughtful sound in her throat Ceylinae found herself starring at some beasts that were within a pen, taking in the looks of them. One of them was something that wasn't native to their homeland, something from a far away land, a radaku if she recalled right from other she'd asked. An interesting beast to be sure, especially the bright colors that the creature bore upon it's body, nothing like what could be found in Yael. Interesting to be sure, but nothing like the other one. Limbarra were at the top of the Yaelian food chain, they were big and brutish, heavily armored, with a lot of sharp teeth. This one wasn't even full sized and it was already impressive, making her think of the ones she's seen at a distance while climbing trees. How Cey wanted one herself. Surely the one who owned this Limbarra, even if it were a small one, must be seen as powerful among their sisters for taming such a creature? To catch such a creature with one's own bare hands... surely that would be a way to prove one's strength? Stepping back from the pen she was peeking into Cey looked at her hands, to the beast within the pen, then back again. She didn't think that she was ready yet to take on a Limbara, but it was an admirable goal worth considering when she was older, stronger, hand pushed herself hard enough that she was ready to take on such a thing. How to start though? There was so much about them that was formidable making her thinking that battling them one on one must be impossible... and yet one of her sisters had caught this one. Cey's long, twisted antennae started to twitch, alerting her that someone was nearby. Her bright eyes scanned the area, spotting the one who was coming over, and she lit up. This was her, right? The powerful sister that was able to tame a limbara? Cey should learn from her then, right? How to best a limbara, so that one day she could do the same thing herself! Nodding to herself the girl started toward the older woman, antennae twitching rapidly as she went.

The older alkidike did not miss the young girl moving closer, and she really had to resist expressing her frustration to be greeted as such. She recalled her most recent training with another young bloom, and how the girl behaved in such a distasteful way. If that was how the girls were to be raised, with an assumption that they were born with strength already, Lumi wasn't sure she was ready to deal with another this early in the day.
Thankfully, Lumikani was good at hiding the frustration on her face, and instead she was calm and collected as the Elaria child neared.
"You are up early today, little cousin. Do you not have training this morning?".
Simple, to the point, and Lumikani hoped that the young thing was either respectful enough or had somewhere to be. She couldn't put on the face of a trainer this early.

"Yes, I've been up since before the sun was!" She looked up at the older sister, giving her a smile, before Cey started to nod her head rapidly, "Yes, training with the others starts soon, but before that I was doing some extra training on my own." Holding up her hands so that she could let the older woman see her scrapped up hands. She knew that it was important to train with the others but that left her with a lot of free time and she didn't like it. She didn't like sitting idly because it made her feel as though she was doing wrong. Turning to look toward the pen she squatted down, looking between the rungs of the fence so that she could get a good look at what was within, "You're amazing, aren't you, big sister? To be able to catch a limbara all on your own. Was it hard?" She asked, her antennae twitching. She was certain that it had to be hard, right? If it wasn't then it wasn't worth the effort... but how would she go about it herself? She was too small to go chasing limbara presently so maybe this sister would allow her to learn about them through her? If she knew more about them then she'd be able to take one on when she was bigger. Pushing up to her feet she turned around, looking toward Lumikani again, giving her a smile. Yes, this was great! She'd been blessed by Elzira to find her and learn from her!

Lumikani's face was set, but she was impressed the girl was doing some training on her own. She knew the Elaria would be a strong group of women, but her concern was that they would be blinded by the coddling that the other sisters were providing them, becoming overzealous but weak in mind. It seemed this one would be alright if she was going beyond the main training.
Once again, Lumikani wondered if she was too hard on the other girl, but dismissed it with the fact that all Alks were expected to go beyond normal training. They weren't the strongest race because they were lazy - and if the extremists wanted to return someday they would need to fight tooth and nail.
"The hardest part was getting this youngling away from its parents." Lumikani responded calmly, "That and traveling across the island...Limbara stick close to the great fire mountain, so that is the best place to hunt them."
Brushing her hands off again, she tossed some meat into the pen where the Limbara moved and began to eat, the Radaku looking disinterested and more keen on its own meal of mushrooms and leaves.
"It is still much too small...it will grow twice its size when it is finally an adult...making it of of the biggest creatures across all of the land."

"Hmmm." Ceylinae gave a slow nod of her head as the older woman explained to her that the hardest part was either getting a young Limbara away from its parents or all the traveling involved. One could only get them from the great fire mountains, huh? So when it came time to get her own Limbara she was going to have to do some traveling, something that risked her running into those glowy weaklings that they shared Yael with. Seemed like quite the challenge, but that was a good thing! Cey didn't want finding her own Limbara to be easy! She wanted it to be difficult, something that would prove her strength she thought to herself, her antennae giving a twitch before she said, "I see, I will keep that in mind. Thank you." Looking into the pen once more she watched as the Limbara ate the meat that her older sister was feeding to it, something that caused her to give a humming sound, "Meat, got it." She'd likely need meat as bait, huh? So hunting before the hunting she thought to herself with a slight smile. Alright, she would need to make note of all that she was learning thus far so that she could be ready! Of course all of her seriousness on the subject seemed to crumble away when the Alkidike woman said that her Limbara would grow to twice the size it was presently. Cey's aqua eyes went wide, her mouth falling open a bit, "Twice?" She squeaked out, sounding surprised and mpressed, unable to help but to be impressed, "Wow... its going to be massive! What will you have your limbara do? Will you ride it? Use it as a war beast?"

Lumikani watched the little girl for another long moment before she focused on her familiars. Both were finished eating, and seemed content for a post-meal snooze. Her radaku moved close, and the Alkidike brushed her fingers over the war paint of her familiar and patted its head.
"The only creature larger than a limbara are the wooly beasts of the north...Ice creatures that tower over everyone. That and the warbeasts of Oba and Matori..."
Standing, she looked down to the youngling before smirking slowly, "I prefer to fight up close...but my daughter will receive this limbara for her own, and I'm sure she will ride it into battle as the great warrior she will be."
Nodding with certainty, Lumikani knew she would gift the animal down to her future bloom, and she would ensure the girl would be the strongest of Elaria no matter her size.

"Wooly beasts and war beasts?" Cey asked, his eyes going a little wide, trying to wrap her head around what sorts of creatures those could be. The fact that they were bigger then Limbara was something that was quite impressive to Cey. Still, they were from distant lands, foreign creatures that were likely as weak and pathetic as the foreign tribes were said to be. No, if she was going to get herself a pet then it would be one from Yael, the land of her birth and where she and her people lived she thought to herself stubbornly. Turning her attention back to Lumikani the youngling couldn't help but to stare, "Huh?" Wait, what? She was going to give this limbara to her daughter? What about the challenge of going out to get a limbara of her own? What about the praise and exaltations that would be showered upon the girl were she to tame one of her own? Wasn't she taking such things away from her daughter by just giving her a limbara? Didn't that seem like cheating somehow? Cey's antennae gave a twitch as she told herself that it was up to her sister to decide and that it was her daughter, not Cey, that she was giving the limbara too. She didn't want to accept things like that herself but maybe her daughter did? As she got her mind off that she then turned to the more pressing question and asked, "Wait, you have a daughter? What's her name? Is she out training?"

A soft hum came from Lumikani as she used her blade to dig a design into the dirt. She first drew a mammu, and then the great war beast of Oba. It was a crude design, but it got to the point.
"Many great sisters have rode beasts not from this land. These creatures as some of the most dangerous, and ones to not take lightly. The wooly beast isn't too bad, but the great war beasts determined the fate of the nations, not those fighting. Had there not been beasts, I'm sure the little earthling war would have ended differently..."
Lumikani wished she was old enough to have fought in the war. Instead, she heard about it from her sisters. It was something she both loved and hated. The idea of a war was so fascinating, but the war itself was the first sign of the great downfall of their tribe. Sisters fought for earthlings instead of taking advantage of the chaos and reclaiming the lands.
It was a bitter thought, and Lumikani welcomed the question distraction "Not yet. Someday I will seek guidance from Elzira and see if she blesses me with my own Elaria bloom. And my daughter will be raised beside this Limbara, starting from the day her lotus opens. By the time she is old enough to fight, the two will be one in the same and a great force to be reckoned. Even if she decides not to be a guardian, she will have a lifelong companion for her protection."

Squatting down Cey studied the two drawings that Lumikani made in the dirt, her antennae twitching as she did so. The wooly beast didn't catch her attention near as much as the one called the war beast did. Even her older sister seemed to be impressed by it, saying it could determine the fate of nations. It was something that caused her to a sound of awe, "Wow... that must be a powerful beast." She murmured, reaching out to trace a finger over some of the lines of the war beast. A war could have gone differently if not for beasts like this one? That was quite impressive, making her wonder about them. Not that she meant to wander off just to try to find one, not when that meant getting too close to those Earthlings. That was definitely not something she was interested in unless it meant defeating them and stealing their war beasts! Turning to look toward Lumikani she listened as she explained that she didn't have a daughter yet. Instead she was going to speak with Mother Elzira to seek a bloom of her own, one that would give her a daughter, "I see." She murmured, so the daughter wasn't born yet. The woman was thinking so far into the future then as she captured the limbara that was in the pen before them? It was a lesson worth taking to heart she thought to herself as she pushed to her feet, brushing her hands off on her shorts. Giving a smile Cey said, "When it comes time for that I'd like to meet her." Since her daughter would be of the Elaria then surely that meant that Cey should meet her? It would be good for her to know all of her sisters since they would need to stand together one day against the other tribes, the Yaelians especially.

Surprisingly, Lumikani found herself endured by Cey's attention to the beasts. It seemed the little girl's awe was appropriate, and she respected the fact that such creatures existed.
"It is up to us to prepare to fell such beasts..." She added softly, using her hand to brush away the creatures in the dirt.
When the girl spoke of meeting Lumikani's daughter, the Alkidike was very thoughtful for a moment.
"I am sure you will be with her often. You are the eldest of Elaria, and it is up to you to lead a new generation. I would expect my daughter to be honored to spend time and learn from both my sisters and her own."
She shared a smile at that before adding, "Just make sure to take her on great adventures. It is one of my fondest memories...traveling with my own sisters to explore the world."

She was the eldest of the Elaria and it was up to her to lead the new generation. A simple statement that caused Cey's heart to skip a beat in her chest and made her many antennae twitch. Yes, she was of the first Elaria born of Elzira, and there was a reason for why she'd been born first, and it seemed that it was due to the need for her and the other two girls to 'lead the new generation'. It was something that had her instantly itching to get back to her training. She should be training, not standing around... but at the same time the talks with her elder sisters were important too. She couldn't allow herself to miss out on what could be important teachings and advice because something in her head told her that standing idle was the same as slacking off. Giving a smile she said, "I do look forward to some exploring once I am old enough." To see more of the island, to get a feel for the lay out of everything, as well as figuring out the preferred locations of all the beasts and the earthlings. Knowing where everyone was would help when it came to both her adventures, her training, and her eventual stalking of a limbara of her own. The question then became if she wanted her own adventures to actually include the entire world... there was a part of her that wasn't interested. There was a lot to do on Yael after all, hopefully up to and including taking more territory for her people. Naqenni and Ku could always do the world exploring while Cey saw to making Yael theirs after all. She supposed what happened in the future was something that only time could tell, she might always change her mind after all. She just knew at present she was sticking to Yael.

Lumikani nodded, before hesitating and letting out a sigh.
"It unfortunate that you cannot explore more...but you must also use caution. If anyone were to hear of your presence...our tribe would be over run and Elzira destroyed. Until we can replenish our numbers, we are forced to bide our time."
Lumikani's expression was sour, before she shook her head again.
"Come, let's see how you do atop a great war beast, little cousin."
She raised her arm and moved to the entrance, gesturing for Cey to join her as she entered the pen.

Ceylinae looked over at Lumikani, her many antennae giving a twitch before she said, "I was told that the glowy eyed tribe were a bunch of cowards... so you're not talking about them, huh?" She bet that her sister was referring to the outsiders, those that had banished the tribe here, forcing them to live so far from home. A bunch of villains of you asked Cey but she couldn't complain, not exactly, she might not have been born were it not for Elzira's love. Best that she didn't think too hard on it since her place was here, not the place that her other sisters had been exiled from. Giving a smile she was quick to add, "I will be careful though, I do stick around the village for the most part." Other then she she was running around the paths outside the village, climbing trees, or otherwise training. "Huh?" Everything else in the world seemed to sudden crumble and fade away, making Lumikani and her limbara the only things that mattered for a moment. She turned to look at the beast as she opened up the gate and she gave a rapid no of her head as she walked forward. She was going to get to sit on a limbara?! She was thinking that she was already lucky enough to see one so close up and learn about where they lived. The idea that she actually got to climb on top of one was something that had her heart racing in her chest with pure excitement. She didn't run forward, much as she wanted to, not wanting to rile up the beasts. Instead she moved forward slowly, hands clasped together behind her back. She was eager, but she didn't want to get bit. Best that she followed her older sister's lead on this one.

Lumikani took her time to respond, debating on how she wanted to direct the girl. It was important to understand they were strong, but she was there when their entire tribe was overrun.
"Your sisters and cousins are strong. We all could win one-on-one against any Earthling because we are taller, stronger, and smarter than they will ever be. That is why they fear us, and with their fear they decided to fight together. When we are ready to take back our land, we will make sure to take them by surprise so they cannot join forces. They were cowards, and decided they needed each other to fight us."
Her voice grew dark, and she shook her head, "Even with our great strength, we were outnumbered not only by the earthlings, but by our sisters. We will not make the same mistake again." She hoped, but she saw how eager the Elaria three were. They believed they could take on the world.
"Someday, you will be able to take on the world, and lead your own sisters to victory." Her smile, strained, was still true. They were the future of their tribe. But it seemed such discussions were over, as Ceylinae already had her eager eyes set on the Limbara before her.
"It is still a bit wild...." Lumikani shrugged, before moving to the front of her Limbara and grinning a bit childishly, "Go ahead, up."
If she fell, well it would be a good lesson.
