Delilah exited the Headmaster's office as she entered the area of the front desk, filing a bit more paperwork. Metas had obviously been getting their message as more and more had come in. At the moment there was only enough to count on two hands, but that was still better than, well, one. She thought back for a moment about how lonely it had been in the grounds with only one disembodied voice to comfort her. She shook the thought as she stared with a blank expression over the paperwork, making sure everything was correct and filled out. She nodded a bit to herself, putting a few folders into the drawer on the side and locking it. She tended to other front desk tasks, her large green eyes focused down onto the desk itself as she worked.

Okay, just calm yourself down. For the first time in a long time you're setting foot back here. Hopefully new faces to meet and talk with. Stories to catch up and perhaps, she'd even have a chance to find her children. After all they managed to find her and she did her damnedest to crawl into a corner and huddle up. She was an adult with wings and a horn, obviously hiding in plain sight wasn't going to be much help. Especially when she couldn't talk!
But yet, here she was walking up towards the front desk, envelope in hand as she found herself looking at Delilah's green eyes. She was lonely and busy thinking about paperwork. Eeeh, perhaps she shouldn't be automatically delving into minds, habits be damned.
'I-I received a message,' Syth spoke without moving her lips. A message echoing inside Delilah's mind. Would they even still remember her, 'I heard things were getting back together.'

Delilah blinked in a bit of surprise. The voice that echoed in her mind wasn't the one that she normally heard. It was not Endora, and it sent a chill up her spine as she looked up suddenly. It was not often at all that she was that caught of guard. She stared at the Meta before her, her swift mind already pieced together the information quickly as she knew exactly who she was. They had met only once when she was very little, but there was no denying who it was. "S-syth?" her voice was steady and not scared, it was merely the stutter she always had that she never managed to outgrow during her isolation. She titled her head very slightly and began to smile from beneath her facial medical mask that covered her mouth. "Yes. T-The sanctuary is o-open to all M-metas." her tone was gentle, though forced through her speech impediment. Her expression was soft and longing as she tried to keep her usual calm composure, she could tell that Syth seemed a little tense, and she wanted her to feel welcome.

It was reassuring that she remembered her. Though she had no memory of Delilah. Still looking at the surface of her thoughts trying to figure out if anything unruly was happening here, 'That is what the letter said' She spoke back, doing her best to keep a smile. Delilah was only trying to be friendly, it was better to respond to that, 'Has anyone else come back? I-I know about her, but I was wondering about the others. Twenty years is a long time after all, heh,' She could only nervously smile as she pushed back those thoughts. She knew she wouldn't see her again, but it'd be fine. Everything would be alright.

Her smiled wavered lightly.
She's just as sad as you.
Delilah took a deep breath and thought for a moment, though her thoughts were pretty clear. Direct. 'I hear Lucian is supposed to be coming here soon.' she thought, then began to speak, "Your f-family members a-aren't here... n-not yet." she paused and frowned. "S-syth..." 'I'm sorry about her.' she left the thought at that. Delilah wasn't absolutely sure if Syth could still hear her thoughts like that or if it was something she would have to choose to do. In her own way, she was testing the waters. Just as she did with Melody and with Rhun earlier that week. "The h-headmaster isn't in r-right now. B-but I'm s-sure he'd have n-no issues with you having y-your pick of w-where you'd l-like to stay. W-we can provide a private h-home in the a-adult housing c-complex. Or y-you can stay b-back at..." her voice trailed off. She was sure she didn't have to finished the sentence as it implied enough already. She was treading carefully on her words.

Nothing but bad news, more bad news. None of her children had arrived and she was for the most part still along. It hard not to tear up just a bit. Though she forced them back, taking in a deep breath as she focused on her thoughts, 'That would be very nice. A new place, a new start,' She responded with a new smile, 'Uhm, perhaps you could come and visit as well. If you're not trapped with a lot of work that is,'

The smile returned to her face, more in compassion. "Of c-course. I also l-live in the a-adult c-complex. S-so I can v-visit often. D-do you w-want to g-go there now?" she offered. Delilah honestly didn't care what Rhun thought about her absence at the front desk, especially after the small tiff they had been in previously, he deserved to experience her absence for a bit anyway. "W-we can t-talk if you w-want when we g-get there." Delilah moved to write something on a post-it note, and disappeared for a second to apparently put it on his desk with a bit more force than was necessary. Then she returned, focusing her attention back on Syth. "Wh-what do you s-say?" she smiled at her, hoping Syth would be receptive to the idea. She felt bad that she couldn't have told her good news about her kids. Though, from what she could tell, they were still alive and most of them were making their way back, just hadn't arrived yet.
I'm sure she'd want to know about Leukos.
Delilah thought for a moment on whether she would be overstepping her bounds to tell Syth. She was sure Lucian would have wanted to tell her, but she wanted to assure Syth that she wasn't alone here. "L-lucian... he had a s-son. His n-name is Luekos and h-he's already h-here at the s-sanctuary."

There was a long pause at her last statement. Her face etched with shock as the realization came over her. Her thoughts speaking out to Delilah, 'I mean it makes sense. It didn't take me and Alice long to have kids and to expect none of mine to have any would be blasphemous. Oh, I wonder what he's like now... Leukos is his name? Eh, could've picked a better one. I wonder how much they know about me. Probably not at all, I didn't do the greatest job.'
She paused in her thoughts though. Turning up to Delilah and letting out a soft smirk. She had no idea she accidentally let Delilah in on her thoughts, but at the least she was happy about the news of a grandson, 'Sure, lets go see where I'll be staying at,'

Delilah smiled, her line of thinking wasn't too far from her own. "I n-never asked... if h-he knew anything a-about you or A-alice. I-i'm sure you'll see h-him about though." she paused for a moment. "I c-could text him... s-so you c-can meet him." she offered, not trying to pressure Syth into anything she wasn't comfortable with.
Nodding, she led the way toward the adult housing complex. "Y-you'll have t-to forgive the c-condition of the outside... I-i'm not g-good with plant life."
Or any life.
Delilah coughed a bit, covering her surprise for how deep the voice cut her. She knew it didn't mean it in a hurtful way, only as a fact of her existence, but it still hurt none-the-less to hear it.
They made it to a small home in the housing district as the outside looked like it could definitely use some care. Delilah walked up on the porch and unlocked the door with a key from her pocket and entered the home. The inside was furnished with basic needs, but not much more than that. Almost like the dorms had been. It was at least well kept though, like someone had been keeping up with it's maintenance.
Delilah looked back and smiled again. "T-there are other a-adult metas in the c-complex. My h-home is n-next door to this o-one." she explained.

'I'm sure,' She replied as she took a deep breath. Alright, off towards the housing complex which appeared to need a bit of care on the outside. Then again, Delilah wasn't the greatest person to leave in charge of that perhaps.
'I mean, its not that bad,' She responded, taking in the surroundings. They could at least just throw some grass down to give things a start. Work on the flowers later on. But inside everything was just... as drab as it was outside. There was enough room to make a small living room, a quiet and plain dining room. A tiny kitchen with a hallway that led to a room. At least there was a laundry machine inside.
'Its nice,' She could only comment about the place as she looked around, 'It needs a little personal touch here and there but, it'll work. Better than some of the places I've stayed in the meantime. O-oh, you live next door! Fantastic, maybe we can meet up more often and catch up. Actually get to know each other!'

She nodded, she had never really been offended by the fact that she couldn't upkeep plant life well. It was just another thing that made her own person. "Th-there are more h-houses that are b-bigger. M-more rooms." she commented. It was true, despite she had cleaned and maintained the entire grounds during it's close, she was only one person.
"T-there's a m-meet and greet later this w-week in the e-evening for the older m-metas if you were i-interested." She reached into her small purse and pulled out a flyer with the details. "M-maybe Lucian will b-be here by t-then."
"I-I'd really l-like that!" she smiled brighter now. Though her feelings were distant for no personal reason, she still genuinely liked Syth from the short time she spent with her as a child. She had also remembered stories that Alice had told her when she was young. Delilah was very fond of Alice, and envied their love for each other. Something she was probably incapable of feeling due to her powers. She was happy that Syth was back, though something tugged at her mind. A faint thought about someone she'd have to warn about her arrival but the thought was fleeting, barely surfacing.

'Well, that sounds fun. I might be a bit late you know... trying to dig up the nerve. Lucian would probably be there if he's already shown up by now. And then maybe Rasiel and Deskri and the rest of them. Ah, I hope they're not afraid of me or dislike me. I'd hope to get a new start with everything,' She replied, letting out a soft smile, 'A-and don't worry about her. She's... she's still in my heart after all. I'm sure you'll find someone who cherishes you. Until then though I'm your neighbor!'

Delilah blinked in surprise. "Y-you don't h-harbor anger for R-rasiel?" she blurted out without even thinking. She paused. "I h-hear Lucian is s-still very.... u-upset... about i-it. He st-still believes h-he is to b-blame for her d-death." If Syth had really moved on, it made her feel guilty that she had never moved on from being abandoned by him 20 years ago.
She began to remember the two people she ever truly let into her heart and didn't exactly know how to respond and simply nodded. "I h-hope so.." she half-lied. She was still unsure of how her powers worked and if it was also affected by strong bonds or even love. "Yes! I-i'm happy to b-be your n-neighbor."

Syth couldn't help but start to laugh in her strange, silent, way. Stopping for only a moment before looking up at Delilah while taking in a deep breath to calm herself down, 'Its been twenty years. Two decades. Its a lot of time to think and reflect on things and in all honestly, you have to move on. If you sit still and think about all the people that have wronged you before you'll just want to dish out damage right back at them. Sure, it'll be weird, but after all Rasiel is my brother in law still, Lucian my son, and Leukos my grandson. No matter how much of a bad job I've done by being gone for so long,'

Delilah was throroughly surprised at how different Syth was from the time she had met her as a child. The stories she had been told to her over the few years she had spent with Rasiel as her psuedo-parent. She had listened to every story about how they fought all the time. Lucian never liked the stories, but Delilah was interested to know more about their experiences. Despite being unpleasant memories, she had longed for interactions with other people that could compare in any way. Good or bad.
Delilah smiled, she was glad that not everything Rasiel had told her was true. In fact, she had hoped that maybe Rasiel had grown in the 20 years to make up with Syth for what happened so long ago. Maybe she, herself, could find a way to forgive him as well.
"I... I think y-you did a g-great job. Y-you both did..." she commented, implying her and Alice. Delilah was feeling envy again, wondering what it would it have been like to have been raised by them instead of Rasiel and Andy. If she and Lucian had gone to a less hostile environment. At least, that's how she had seen it.
"I s-should go c-check up on X-xeizii... I-i'll leave y-you to settle i-in and I-i'll be next d-door if y-you need anything at a-all." she smiled, bowing her head slightly.
