Nuri was traveling through the lands, and was trying to do his research on the best creatures to collect that were often used in battle. One of the most noteworthy animals was the giant birds of Tale, colorful creatures that grew large enough for an earthling to ride. Even if he wasn't trained to ride them, Obans needed to learn about them in order to potentially tame themselves - not being in the air was a distinct disadvantage even with their large warbeasts.
Someone could simply fly above and take one down without any sort of damage.
So, in an effort to both understand and tame such a creature, Nuri traveled to the south of Tale, near Vers where many Kinfa tamers were about. They watched as he moved about and prepped, jeering him a bit. Nuri didn't let it bother him as he finally got his items and made his way.
After a long trip, he finally came across a flock of kinfa. They were larger than he expected, and as he neared, almost all flew about. All that was left was a single bird settled atop a soft nest of brush. It was a bright red, and seemed to almost represent flames. Nuri moved closer, not yet taking out his whip as he maintained eye contact and stilled every single time the bird seemed ready to flee.
So first try, keeping calm should ensure that they wont bolt. Next was to figure out a way to get the bird captured without causing strain or it to escape.

Nuri was silent for a long moment, uncertain on how to deal with such a large creature. This was no easy task, considering the bird could take flight and get out of his grasp without a moment's notice. So, he debated pulling out the net he had retrieved from his pack, knowing it would be the most helpful for such a large and flight creature. Moving his hand to his hip, he took his eyes away from the bird for simply a moment, and then the creature stretched its wings and let out a loud screech.
His hand fell a from his side before both covered his ears, eyes darting back to glare at the bird as it moved from the nest and to the sky. Rushing forward, he watched as the Kinfa flew away, cursing under his breath before looking back at the nest. There, he caught sight of a large egg. It would be easy to grab the egg and take it back, but Nuri wasn't one to disrupt a nest if he could avoid it. Instead, he turned away, happy to note that the bird would be back and hopefully would abandon its egg.
If he was lucky, he'd catch it the next time he returned. For now, it was time to go back to the tamers of Vers, where they would hopefully not tease him too much for his failure.
