Things had felt sort of rushed since she transferred to a school in Below. The move had felt right, there was nothing more thrilling to her than travel. It was a sudden decision, made the second she learned that the portals would be open to travel between the two worlds. She found a home that she could rent fairly cheaply, though she was still getting some help from her parents, and she'd managed to find a job working at a flower shop.
She was becoming more comfortable with her surroundings however, and time seemed to be slowing down again. She had a routine now between work and school. She had time for other things and was starting to find that she was spending more time bored than working or studying. Boredom was not something that she approved of. Especially so in the colder months she was experiencing currently. It would one thing if she was bored and tired in Above. Hibernating was an acceptable thing this time of year for a Dryad. But she was in Below, the world wouldn't pause for her while she slept here.
At times, she would wander the town. She was getting more accustomed to the various locations where college students could have fun. She really needed to make some friends, but she'd only managed a few acquaintances up to this point. Still too early in any of those relationships to ask them over for some tea and a movie night. Yet, that was her idea of a good time.
As she wandered around the town she heard a crunch under her feet. She paused and looked down at the piece of paper she had stepped on. She bent down to pick it up, intending to find a trash can to throw it away in. However as she gave it a quick glance the colors attracted her, so she paused to read the flyer. Jubilee? Oh, it was almost February. Above also had this holiday. A day for couples to spend together. The flyer was actually an advertisement for singles that were looking to meet other singles. Cause who would enjoy spending the Jubilee single?
A relationship, hm? She had had one of those in the past. They weren't so bad really. In fact, her partner had been rather sweet, although a tad on the jealous side. Well, a 'tad' was probably a bit of an understatement. In the end her partner hadn't approved of her going to Below. And so, the relationship ended. It was disappointing in one way, but sort of a relief in another.
Was it too soon for a new relationship? She had always wanted to have a child. But you didn't necessarily need a partner to have a child. She would like to have someone else to imbue a stone with however. Maybe she could find that someone at this event? Maybe she could even find someone to go on this crazy adventure with her together. The adventure of having a family. That would certainly cure the boredom. Her family would be thrilled as well. Maybe a bit disappointed by the distance, but anymore it wasn't too hard to visit when need be.
So, for the the hundredth time in her life she decided to make a spure of the moment decision. The event was happening now! She walked in confidently and with a cheery smile on her face. Somewhere in here could be the parent of her child!
