Quote: Kalila had wandered off from her larger friend. All was well and fun, but some times she felt a little like a fith hoof around Tian's family. The tiny little mare set off at a trot to see what sort of adventure she could meet for the day with a twinkle in her eye and her head and butt wings flared in her glee. It wasn't rare for her to wander off and look to see what she could find, so likely no one would worry at her absence. Pushing her war through some under growth, she pressed on till the thicker forest started to thin slightly with the incline. That was good.. at least she wouldn't be having to battle bushes too much. Quote: Emmett Alexander hadn't really settled into the season very well. His bright colors certainly made him stand out in the arid autumn afternoon. He grasped at the hillside with one of his claws, yawning lazily and stretching his wings. He could see the little mare not too far down the hill from him, but he didn't want to interact very much yet. He figured that if she approached him, so be it, but right now Emmett just wanted to enjoy the calm morning. Quote: As she clambered up the hill side, she took a moment to pause and look around. She was looking for the safer way to climb devoid of anything loose that could send her tumbling. sure she hadn't his anything too steep yet, but lack of incline didn't mean you should abandon the focus on safety. It was during her searchign that she saw something in the distance. something bright in color. Head wings giving a slight flutter, she stood still, staring at the bright colors a moment trying to make out what they belonged to before finally looking back at the hill she was working on and continuing to climb. As she drew closer to the stallion above's location, she found herself a slender tree that had been downed, likely dead and finally fallen by some previous storm or another. Hopping over the log, for now it was little more than a log in her opinion, she continued on. Quote: After some time the mare had simply grown too close for him to avoid. Sure, he could leave, but that would be rude. He didn't exactly want to startle her either, so he cleared his throat to see if she would notice him. Or perhaps, he thought, she had already noticed him and just chose not to acknowledge him. Huh, what an odd thought. A mutual feeling of solidarity. He didn't quite know what to do now, as he did not want to speak to her and ruin her quiet trek up the hillside, but he also did not want to seem rude. Emmett pondered his predicament for a few moments before he made a decision. Rustling his wings and fluffing his tail feathers, he cleared his throat again. "Uuuh... Good morning, there." As if who his greeting was directed toward wasn't obvious enough, he added, "Uh. You, the little one, that is." He'd never quite seen such a small being, save for a foal, but this mare was not nearly thin enough and had too much musculature to possibly be a foal. How odd... Quote: Stopping at the sound of the cleared throat, she paused watching the direction it'd come from intently. Again some one spoke from the same place. "Good morn..." She started till it registered he pointed out her short stature. "I might be small but you didn't need to point it out..." She clambered further up the hill to get a better look at who belonged to the voice. Small indeed.. If it were Tian she'd have rolled her eyes and ran smack into the mare hitting her in her knobby knees. Quote: Emmett's eyes widened at the mare's response. "Oh, I uh..." He felt awfully rude. "I didn't mean any offense, it's just that I didn't want you to think I wasn't talking to you, or... Uh..." He tripped over his words, realizing he was just making things worse. "Sorry." Quote: Finally she made it close enough that she could see the stallion who was speaking. Shrugging slightly she ignored his awkward excuses. "Don't worry about it.." He didn't seem like he'd run into many of the smaller ponies. She took the moment to look the stallion over. Well this was a first for her.. she'd never met one with claws or bird wings before. All Tian's family she'd met so far were wingless. "What are you?" She realized the question might seem rather rude or forward and dipped her head. "I'm sorry but I'm unaccustomed to seeing one such as you so that's why I ask." Quote: The hipporgryph wasn't entirely sure what the Usdia meant. He furrowed his brow and thought before he answered. "I am," he began, "A stallion, a Soquili, a hippogryph... I just... Am." He smiled awkwardly at the mare. "Though, I guess that means I have to ask too, and I hope you won't mind me pointing it out again..." He blushed a little. "You're obviously full grown, you're just... Cuter?" He hoped that his reference to her size wouldn't upset her.
