As much as Xavier had enjoyed meeting new trolls, a moment of solitude with his lusus out on the mountain range early one evening had seemed like a grand adventure. He'd met his tealblood music friend in a similar fashion not that long ago, the jadeblood felt the odds were low he'd attract much attention this far west of Busthind on the lower portion of the mountain side. The cautious boy tried to pick a spot that was safe for both himself and his mother, before he settled down on the rock face of a ledge. Peering over the edge down at the grassy and rocky ground below a small smile pulled at the small boys lips.

Reaching for his favorite tin whistle, he rounded his shoulders a little as he leaned back into his lusus. "Mum, next time I go into town, do you think I can go myself?" He asked her, as he began playing. If she said no, he would respect her request of course. It was more to do something nice for her, he didn't want to spoil it.

No, not alone at least my love, you are still so very small. Anu smiled patiently with a shake of her head. A claw brushed back some of her jadebloods hair before she settled down, eyes closed as she rest beside him while he played.

Xavier's smile wavered slightly, but he did not stop playing. The sound of the wind while faint, attributed to an airy light hearted melody reflective of his cheerful mood. Occasionally he'd mess up, and while he'd wrinkle his nose at the off tune squeal from breathing too hard, or not enough he kept trying for the sheer fact it was entertaining. Music was becoming a more regular part of his every day life, learning about Amonee's painting gave the jadeblood a reason to try and get more creative, and better at the silly little practice.

Besides no one was judging him out here, not even his poor lusus who had to endure his good and bad moments.

Xavier had just been about to take a breathe in to continue playing his tin flute when he heard a voice. Instead of the normal melodic noise that came out of the instrument a shrill squeal followed as Xavier startled. The greenblood stood up abruptly, looking sheepish as he hid his instrument behind his back. "Huh?!" Xavier looked startled, his eyes scanning for any sign of danger. He bounced from one spot to the other as he heard someone calling out. He'd been blissfully ignorant to his surroundings, at least until now

"Oh!" Yuh scared me..heh. You're just a kid like me. H-Hello there!" Xavier greeted as he made his way a bit closer to the rather vividly colored troll. He wasn't use to seeing so many colors represented on one troll. It reminded him of one of the stones he'd found in the caves near his hive while exploring one afternoon on his way to visit with his dear friend Amonee. It looked like if his shirt told anything he was a lowerblood, which wasn't a problem of course.

After a moment of consideration, and deciding to find out more abotu this strange kid. "Welcome to the Mountains. Say, watchya doin' out here? Are ya exploring?" He peered at the other troll curiously, glancing back at his lusus who had moved closer to the pair, peering from her rock perch down at the lot with a friendly expression on the virgin grub's face.

Xavier squeaked in dismay slightly as the other clambered up and all but shouted at him as being the source of what he was looking for. Looking back at his lusus, then back to the brownblood he bobbed his head slightly in greeting to him. Before Xavier could even ask him 'Who are you?' the other loud boy had latched onto his hand and began shaking it rather eagerly.

Nearly wobbling over from the others eager greeting, Xavier's head tilted to one side, the four horned troll was trying to decide what to make of the other. "Meeting trolls is nice, yuh!" He finally agreed with a hesitant smile forming over the freckled boy's features. "I'm not a mythical beast, just a troll playin' on a shriektube!" He explained, lifting up the instrument to allow Caiden to see it. Looking between the other boy and his lusus he was curious who the colorful pair were.The jadeblood boy then proceeded to blow on it, producing a little sound as if to show him.

"Oh this? I have a few extra I've whittled...if you'd like I can go get you one." This one as special and made from metal and wood alike. He wasn't willing to part with it, even if the other seemed super interested in music. "Do you know much about music?" He asked curiously then as he chattered with the hyper boy, trying to give him his full undivided attention.

"My names Xavier by the way!" He chirped in greeting as if remembering his manners.

The jadeblood seemed surprised when the other boy more or less exclaimed his name. Nodding, he offered a tentative smile to the other troll in response. Rubbing his neck, the other troll nodded then. "I suppose so? I enjoy playing, and making music with instruments." Xavier's smile widened at the idea of Caiden singing while his lusus tried to hunt.

For a long moment Xavier considered the others words. Shaking his head, he gestured to the wood-wind instrument. "Yuh can with practice...I promise. I don't know how great it will or won't be, but that's part of the fun with music. Plus, there are lots of different ways to perform." Xavier seemed a bit thrown off with the others way of looking at him with such fascination. He didn't think much of his abilities, but he was flattered the other thought so highly of him.

"I'm not sure what you mean by magic, but I know how to keep rhythm on drums as well." He offered as a potential relation to his question. "I haven't seen you around this part of Busthind..are you from around here?" He inquired curiously, peering at Caiden with a friendly, yet gentle smile.

Xavier seemed surprised by the news they were neighbors. Meeting more trolls from Busthind was always pleasant, especially with ones as friendly as Caiden. The other troll was loud of course, but Xavier didn't mind too much. Squinting in the direction the other gestured. Xavier had no real basis to go off and simply assumed the other was a good distance away as he had announced.

"That's a ways off...do yuh have somewhere safe to stay for the morning?" He sounded concerned, most trolls couldn't be out in the morning sunbeams that luminated the world of Alternia for a few hours. His concern for the other troll was evident enough as he looked him over. "I wouldn't mind teaching you..my hive isn't to far. I have a few extra guest coon's you could use one if you like?" Xavier offered then, while hesitant he didn't think the other troll was a threat of any kind. Least of all the lusus near them who seemed to be a bit distressed from all the fuss.

For what it was worth, Xavier decided to sit down and try and teach Caiden a few basic notes. It would take pratice..but from what Xavier could gather he'd made himself a new friend. Something he hadn't expected but found it easy enough to spend time with the colorful kid troll. Even having him stay wasn't so bad, although his friend rarely ceased speaking much to Xavier's dismay.

None the less, he looked forward to more nights spent with the other troll. Caiden's pump biscuit was in the right place as far as the jadeblood was concerned anyway. Even Anu grew use to the trolls insistent chatter, a smile was worn on the lusus's features as she listened in on them.
