Totchli drifted among the weeds, missing his reefs. He could blend in there. Here, among all these green, snaky plants, his white hide stood out like a sore fin. But that was fine. He didn't really care. He wasn't actually trying to hide. No, he was keeping an eye on something in the distance. She had wanted some time alone. She didn't want to crowded. But Totchli still had trouble believing that she would come back... despite the fact that she always had in the past. So he compromised. He let her take off and visit with the strange little orange male, while he stayed far enough away that she was barely a spot in the water. He was so focused on his target that he didn't even notice how obvious he was, or that there was anyone else around.

Bardess Ookami
Killian had been moving about, flitting from mare to mare, as was his habit. His preference. No attachments, save that to his beloved ship, tethered to him, floating above. He steered it around as he swam. And then... he saw a white speck. What in the seas was that? Managing not to frown, because one never knew what mares might be swooning over his smile, he flitted his way over, lazily. Never good to seem to eager for anything, after all, unless it was the right time for it. Everything at the pace that worked best, aye. He swam closer, investigating the spot of white ahead. Perhaps it was some lovely young lass in need of a rescue from a dashing young stallion. As he swam closer, however, he found himself disappointed. A male, and not even a terribly pretty one at that. A shame. He considered turning and swimming off, but this was the way he had been heading already, and there was no reason to go through the effort of turning the large ship so suddenly. So he kept swimming, presuming he was just going to pass the annoying git.

Divena
A shadow passed over him, but he kept his eyes on the speck in the distance, afraid that he would lose her if he didn’t keep watching. The speck seemed to be getting smaller. With a bit of concern and fear, he crept forward until it got a bit bigger and he was satisfied that his lady hadn’t vanished from his life like everyone else he cared about. Only then did he glance up to see what was blocking out the light filtering down. A cloud, he decided before returning his gaze quickly to the distant mare.

Bardess Ookami
Was the lad trying to escape him? Far too slow for that, mate. Far too slow indeed. Now this seemed to be a challenge. Now there seemed to be a point to it, almost. Perhaps. Not as much fun, perhaps, as carousing with a mare.... but that did not mean that it couldn’t be fun. He swam closer, bringing the ship closer, looming it over the small white speck.

Divena
The shadow got bigger and he frowned, debating looking up again. But doing that would require taking his eyes off of the mare swimming away from him. Of course… the weeds were beginning to run out, too. Maybe he should just give up the creeping. He was feeling a little bit creepy, too… it wasn’t a particularly pleasant feeling. Better than losing sight of her, though…

RP Log
Bardess Ookami
And now he wasn’t moving away any more. He was sticking to the weeds like he was.... Killian noticed his intense focus forward. What was with this little male that he... Killian stopped, considering him a moment, and then he did frown. He couldn’t see far enough to know who or what the other male was watching, but that intent look, lad was watching something. Or someone. Killian might not have the most honor, according to some, when it came to his way with the lasses. But spying on a mare, stalking her? Bad form, bad form indeed, and there was no way that Killian was going to let that stand. Or... well... swim. He moved closer, then slid carefully from the harness, gathering it carefully before finishing his approach alone. This male needed a lesson, and he was just the one to deliver it.

Divena
A tingling ran down the back of his neck and he froze. Something was watching him… creeping up on him. No, the irony wasn’t lost on him, but at least he was staying far enough away that she wouldn’t notice him. Hopefully. Heck, she probably realized he was there. She was fully well aware of his insecurities… but that was the point. He burned her location into his memory before glancing around, trying to figure out what was watching him and if it was a threat.

Bardess Ookami
As soon as the male turned Killian rammed into his side, slamming into him as hard as he could, trying to make enough noise to alert the female so she could get away while he kept this sea dog at bay. He would use every dirty trick he knew. Killian loved the ladies, and that meant protecting them from cads and sea scum. He was the only rake allowed in these waters, thank you very much.

Divena
Something slammed into him and Totchli had just enough time to think it was a threat after all before his instincts kicked in. He squirmed and lashed out with his powerful tail, even going so far as to sink his teeth into the nearest fleshy bit. He hadn’t felt fangs yet, but that didn’t mean a thing…

Bardess Ookami
Someone bit him! The cad dared to bite him! To sink teeth into his gorgeous flesh! How dare he. He flailed out with his hooves, trying to strike the head of the other, trying to kick his skull in. Yes, there was the lass to consider, but now there was more, now it was personal, now he was there to take vengeance out on this horrid fool who had DARED to price his hide.

Divena
Totchli felt the current shift and quickly ducked his head to avoid whatever was coming at him. He gave one last heave and managed to squirm free. Rather than wasting time to glance back and see what had attacked him, he darted through the weeds, wishing, not for the first time, that he was back in his former reefs where he could disappear in a blink.

Bardess Ookami
He thrashed after the fool who had dared to harm him. Little yellow bellied white tailed stalker freak. HE lunged forward, trying to catch the other’s tail in his teeth, snarling.

Divena
He yelped as something sharp grazed his tail. Freaking shark… he had a freaking shark chasing him… what the heck?! He realized, suddenly, that he was racing toward Natasha and her friend. He couldn’t do that, couldn’t put them at risk. He veered sharply, heading away from her, away from their hidden home. Toward his old reefs. If he could just get there, he could gain the advantage.

Bardess Ookami
Killian kept his teeth in the other, trying to pull him back towards himself, where he could get his falling hooves to make connection. How dare he stalk innocent mares? Fro now he was closer, just enough he could spot some lovely lass. He pushed up with his tail, trying to drag him up towards the ship, planning to smash this fool against the smooth underbelly.

Divena
Totchli felt himself being yanked up and contrarily dove down. He thrashed his tail, aware that his blood was getting into the water. This wasn’t going to work… he couldn’t flee. With a small groan, he twisted and lashed out his hooves at the thing latched on to his tail.

Bardess Ookami
A hoof caught him in the head and he let go of the tail as he cried out. The scoundrel. He would not stand for this insult. Injury. Whatever. She lowered his head and tried to slam into the other, though he was a little disoriented, and not too certain of his aim

Divena
Totchli dodged the oncoming attack and swam back, realizing suddenly that his attacker wasn’t even a shark. He hesitated. “Who… what are you doing?” he demanded, anger replacing fear. Who was this mer who just attacked him for no reason?

Bardess Ookami
“Saving the lass you’ve been stalking from your unwelcome advances, mate,” he said glaring darkly, wiping some blood from his mouth with a forelimb. HE was not going to let this stand. Swim. WHATEVER. He was going to make sure this pale fool never went near a helpless damsel again. And mayhaps after... Mayhaps he might inform the lass how heroically he had saved her, perhaps he might even have a dashing new wound from this. So long as it did not scar or disfigure him.

Divena
”Unwelcome… what are you even talking about?” he demanded, anger growing up to fury. “What lass?” What was a lass, anyway? Had this idiot mistaken him for someone else? For his brother maybe? It had been so long… Totchli barely remembered what his brother looked like, but he didn’t think such a mistake could be made easily.

Bardess Ookami
“Stalking a female, watching her from a hidden place, creeping about, I’ll not let that pass. You shall not harm any lass while I am here to stop you.”

Divena
”Stalking…” Okay, he had been, sort of… but… “I wasn’t harming anyone,” he snapped. “I would never. I was keeping an eye on Natasha, to make sure nothing harmed her. I made sure I was far enough away so she wouldn’t be bothered by me. You don’t even know her!” That he was certain of. Natasha would have told him if she knew such a violent jerk.

IM RP
Bardess Ookami
“Stalkers convince themselves they aren’t harming lasses, lad, and they aren’t. Until they do. I’ll not let that happen to so lovely a lady.” Not that he had gotten close enough to see her, but all ladies were lovely, were they not? “If she did not ask her to protect her, and you stalked her, then you lad are the very sort that she needs protecting from, and as I am the only one here to stop you, so I shall! Be gone, or I shall make sure you realize that leaving is your best option. Leave her alone, and never return.”

Divena
There… was absolutely no way that he could possibly explain his situation without making it worse, so he frowned. “You can’t even see her from here,” he argued. “I know you can’t.”

Bardess Ookami
“I fail to see how that has any bearing on the conversation, mate. Are you going to scram, or am I going to slice and dice your tail six ways from the furthest ocean?”

Divena
”That depends,” he frowned. “Are you going to go after her once I leave?” If leaving was all it would take to get rid of this arrogant idiot, then he would. He could always circle back later. But he didn’t want to leave Natasha cleaning up his mess.

Bardess Ookami
He hadn’t thought about it, but that did sound like a pleasant way to pass the rest of the afternoon. “I shall of course make sure that the lass is alright, and inform her to be wary in the future, I would be remiss as a gentleman to do otherwise, of course.”

Divena
”If you did that, you’d have to deal with her father and her uncle… assuming you survived her,” Totchli scoffed, hiding his concern. How was he supposed to chase this idiot off? Not that he didn’t think Natasha could handle him, but she shouldn’t have to.

Bardess Ookami
“I have much experience dealing with fathers and uncles, mate, I assure you that. But I mean the lass no harm, I seek only to warn her of your foul stalking, and tell her my own good deeds in chasing you off. Then if she wishes not my presence, I shall depart. It is not good form to force your presence on a mare who wishes you would go. A lass is a thing to be respected, her wishes obeyed, lad. Now go. Before I tire of educating you, and become irritated.”

Divena
Really? This guy was… unbelievable. “I’m not stalking her,” he said through his teeth. “And she knows me already. Just like her father and uncle know me… because I’m part of her family.” Maybe he could claim to be an over protective brother. Somehow that seemed more likely to him than his being her mate. He still had trouble believing someone as beautiful and perfect as Natasha had settled for him.

IM RP
Bardess Ookami
“Is that the case then mate?” he didn’t believe it for a second. “Alright then, shall we just meet the lass together, and see if she agrees to your fish tale? If she does, you will have my apologies, but somehow I rather doubt I’ll be called upon to tender them.”

Divena
Totchli hesitated. That was the most reasonable solution. He knew Natasha would send the stallion packing, and it’d be a bit satisfying to have the other male swallow his pride and apologize. But that would mean having Natasha cleaning up his mess. He refused to be a burden on her. He already knew he had so many faults… He shook his head. “How do I know that you won’t try to harm her in some way? You attacked me completely unprovoked.”

Bardess Ookami
“I attacked you to protect her, Lad. Did I hit you on the head too hard, have some sense. Attacking a lovely lass is bad form, poor form indeed. Well, unless they strike first, but even then, a lass is a lass, lad. They’ll not view you tenderly if you treat them roughly. Never harm one you seek to romance. Never.”

Divena
”That’s what you say, but what proof do I have that you’re not lying?” Totchli demanded when something caught his attention. The cloud seemed to be shifting. He kept his eyes on the stranger, though.

Bardess Ookami
“And what proof have I that you are not, lad? You seem determined to not have your bluff called. Leave, leave her be, and you’ve nothing to fear lad. Not from me, I only wish to defend her, and be on my way.”

Divena
If that were true, it wouldn’t be a problem. “Fine,” he huffed. He didn’t like it but… He frowned at the large shadow. “Um… what is that?” he asked, momentarily distracted.

Bardess Ookami
“you think you can distract me, lad? I hardly think that you....” wait, why was it getting light? He spent so long in the shadow of his ship that he was unused to the brightness of sun through the water anymore. He turned to see the ship... untethered. Oh no. Oh no no no. Foul! NO! He spun to glare at the lad again. “I ever see you stalking a lass again, lad, and I shall slam you into the nearest rocks until your head splits like a clam, understood, lad?”

Divena
Totchli stared at him, stunned by this sudden change. Absently, he nodded, not really promising anything. Something was wrong, clearly. But if the other mer was going to take off, then Totchli could go back to his own life.

Bardess Ookami
He spun in a fin and raced off after his ship. No one lass was worth her, no ten were. And this lad was going to attract every shark in the ocean bleeding that badly, they should keep the lady safe.

Divena
Totchli watched him take off, still confused. He shook his head and dragged himself back to the safety of their caverns where he could heal and wait for Natasha. He’d ask her what the heck just happened. Maybe she could explain it.
