Olga had a few extra dollars to spend on coffee today, and since it was the New Year and all, she figured she could afford to splurge a bit and try something different. Her idea of splurging? Going to one of those higher end and fancier coffee shops. Even fancier than Starbucks. Yeah. That Olga aimed high when it came to self-indulgence.

Needless to say her mind had been blown upon arrival. While still having the cozy cafe atmosphere, it was definitely ritzier. The menu blew her mind, and the food items blew her mind as well. Unfortunately, she couldn't afford both a coffee and a nice looking danish, so she settled for some coffee. Well, a fru fru latte of some sort. She picked up her order from the barista, and turned with latte in hand, looking for a place to sit---

She almost dropped her expensive latte.

There off in a corner, was Lily.

She, of course, hadn't forgotten about the girl. Something about stressful and near-death experiences definitely made those who you shared them with stand out. The girl baffled Olga. She'd been so willing and ready to just hand herself over to the Negaverse...like she just didn't even...care? She almost would have thought for sure she'd join---if she hadn't seen the girl get rescued before anything serious could have happened...

Hhngh. Olga couldn't help herself (not that she ever tried to, honestly). She wanted to go talk to her. So she did. Olga approached the table Lily was seated at. "Hey...!" She greeted the girl, and raised a hand in greeting as well. "Um...remember me?"

Lily didn't look good - but, then again, she rarely looked much more than alright. It was an inherent tragedy to her genetic code: she didn't sleep near enough what she needed, but what did that matter? She was running on three hours of sleep, two and a half cups of black coffee, and lipgloss and concealer applied just enough to hide the bags under her eyes and the tooth imprints in her lips.

Appearances were everything.

When Olga approached, Lily looked up, slowly raising an eyebrow - one could almost see the gears turning inside her head. She closed her book, put her danish and coffee mug aside, and gestured to the empty chair on the other side of the table. "Barely. My memory is -- spotty. But I do remember you, yes. How have you been?"

Olga grimaced a bit. Ouch. Barely remembered her, huh? But she didn't dwell on that for too long, in light of the excitement that Lily had remembered her at least a little bit, the girl had indicated she should join her. Olga didn't need to be told twice, and eagerly accepted the offer, pulling out the chair and settling into it, cupping her expensive fru fru latte between her two hands. She let out a breath, and grinned at the girl. "Well---that's a loaded question, but I got all my toes and all fingers still, so yanno, I'm good!"

She took a sip of her drink. "Wow---this coffee is really good---Oh." She blinked, and then stared at the other. "I'm Olga---just in case!" Just in case Lily didn't remember her name. "How have you been, Lily?" Olga on the other hand, remembered a lot of things.

Lily did notice the grimace, but her only response was a nearly imperceptible eyebrow raise. People always got upset when she didn't remember them -- but it wasn't like her and Olga had been given much time to make introductions. Really, the entire situation -- from being attacked on the sidewalk, to awakening tied up, to being released and freed -- had taken on a bit of a dreamlike haze. She'd gone home, she'd slept it off, and she really hadn't thought about the entire hassle until...just now, really. But such was life.

"Try not to lose things to necrosis. I've heard it's ugly." She pulled out a small notebook and scribbled something in it, placing it in her lap and giving Olga a polite smile. "Their coffee is good, yes. I usually come here after school most days to get work done...I prefer it black, personally, but I assume you don't? Not many do. I've been good, actually; thank you for asking."

Aside from the whole 'I got thrown through a mirror, talked to a cat, and now I'm a superhero' thing, but -- that wasn't something you shared with people.

Olga laughed at that. "Well, I don't plan on it anytime soon, so---" She gave her a fox eyed grin. "I guess I'm good! Oh---" She blinked. "You come here most days?" Wow. That must have meant Lily could like....afford to come here a lot. This whole excursion here had been a special treat splurge for her. "Lucky!" She smiled, and the nodded. "Yeah, I like at least a little bit of brown sugar and creamer of some sort in mine! Ah, good, I'm glad!"

She paused for a moment, trying to channel any sense of tact she had---which was none, really, and just launched into it.

"Have you been okay---since, you know...the carnival thing?" She felt safer talking about this more frankly with the girl. Though Lily, at the time, had been strangely open to offering to help out the Negaverse, she knew the girl had been rescued before anything super serious happened---so. Yeah.

"Well - school days, at least," Lily smiled. "I find it easier to concentrate on schoolwork in a social environment, and coffee shops foster...a certain sort of social atmosphere, you know?" She sipped her coffee in between sentences, smudged ink remaining on her fingertips, and to her credit she didn't seem surprised at Olga's lack of tact.

(It might have just been that she'd picked up on that already, though. With Olga, it really wasn't all that hard.)

"Honestly? I haven't thought about it too much. It didn't do any permanent damage to me, and I assume you too? But...not much has happened since, really. Nothing world-shaking. Nothing shattering."
