Caron smiled as he gathered his things, he had applied to the big siblings program. He had gotten lucky to be matched up with a senior who was as into history as he was. Caron hadn't asked if they were male, female or none of the above. Nor had he asked about their race, so he didn't know if they were a nightmare or daydream. He didn't mind and didn't think he would have trouble finding the person since he arranged to meet them. In the common room of the freshling dorm, then he would ask the senior to take him to a cafe or something where they could take without so many other freshlings around. Caron hummed as he gathered his notebook and pens and history books to go talk to his big sibling. He entered the common room and looked for someone much taller than anyone else in the room.

Topaz marveled at all the freshlings around. She was tall, topping out at 6' 4", but for a Baphomet that was just the high end of average. She'd met plenty of people as tall or taller than her and was just as used to meeting those shorter than her, but never had she been so keenly aware of her height until now. She was garnering a lot of curious looks, so she made sure to smile and give a friendly wave of reassurance. She was here today to meet her little sibling. She'd signed up for the program thinking it would be a good life experience, plus she'd always liked talking to kids and the whole idea of the program appealed to her. She'd been matched up with a Freshling who had an interest in history, and she was very curious and excited to meet them. She hadn't been told much beyond that besides the name of her little sibling and the time and place of the first meeting, which was fine with her. The best way to get to know someone was to talk, after all! While she waited Topaz peered around the room, noting all the varieties of species and wondering what her little sibling looked like. Caron blinked as she caught sight of the very tall Baphomet, he was tiny compared to her. Since he would likely only be 5'5" once he hit senior year, he was really small compared to her. Caron jumped and fluttered his wings, waving his arms to get her attention. Then went forward towards her, and said "Hello I'm Caron, are you my big sibling??" He asked, hoping she was if she was, then he would get to meet a baphomet and he had never met one before. So he was excited to ask her about her people's history. Caron was always up for adding to his knowledge base.

Topaz caught sight of a lot of movement from something red and white, and watching as the colors approached her. The child was a Fey, a tiny little thing with the most pretty wings and the brightest eyes and antennae. The bright green combined with the plant on his chest made her think of Dryads at first, but then as he got nearer she noticed the green was fluffy and wiggling about, and that's also about when she noticed the wings. She felt a surge of excitement. She hadn't know her little sibling was going to be a Daydream! Even if the little one didn't know much about the history of his race, she could learn a lot from simple physiology questions. But the information she'd gotten said Caron was very interested in history, so she was very curious to see what he might be able to tell her! Topaz chuckled as the Fey introduced himself, and knelt down so he didn't get a crick in his neck trying to talk to her. "Well I'm no mathematician," she said, "but I think the odds of there being another Caron who was supposed to meet with a big sibling at this time and this place are quite slim!" She winked, still smiling. "My name is Topaz. I hear you enjoy history? Any particular kind, or are you an all-around enthusiast?"

Caron smiled brightly "Yes I am Caron, I am delighted to meet you Topaz I have so many questions to ask you, can you take me somewhere more quiet so we can talk?? Maybe we can go out or to a cafe??" Caron asked in his most charming manner. He liked getting his way, specially when it came to females. Caron grinned "I want to learn all the history I can, right now my friend Dia and I are trying to compile notes about the history of the Above and the Bellow, so when we are older we can write a books about both our lands, and help others understand the history of all."

"Well," Topaz exclaimed, "That's quite an undertaking!" She had a ton of things she could add, but she remembered Caron's request about going somewhere quiet to talk. Once two people got started on a subject they were enthusiastic about things tended to carry on. "We can certainly go somewhere a bit quieter to talk," she said, having already double checked with the program directors just in case. "I would love to hear more about what you and your friend Dia are doing, and maybe I can share some of my own stories. I've been to quite a few places to explore!" Topaz paused and extended a hand questioningly. "Is it okay if I carry you on my shoulders? That way it's easier for you to keep up with me without having to watch where you're going." Her smile was full of humor. "Plus, while my ears work just fine you're an awfully long way away. On my shoulders you won't have to strain your voice just to be heard!" She didn't think Caron would have a problem with it, but it was rude to just go around grabbing others without their consent. If Caron preferred being on his own two feet, she would just have to shorten her stride.

Caron nodded "Yes but I want to do it, it means a lot to me." He gave her a charming smile. Caron smiled and said as he went along with Topaz to find a quiet spot. "I would love to tell you more about Dia, and hear you stories" he answered cheerfully. Caron took Topaz's hand and said "Yes please" he was excited to be in such a high place, Caron hadn't learned to fly yet, so he was grounded, and with his short height. The idea of sitting on Topaz's shoulders was exciting. He smiled brightly and held his arms up so Topaz could pick him up.

Topaz had to hold in a chuckle at the bright enthusiasm in Caron's voice. She stooped and reached out, tucking her hands under Caron's arms, then hoisted him up in the air. She carefully settling him on her shoulders, flicking her hair out of the way before she did so, so that his legs went over her shoulders and most of his weight was settled where her back met her neck. He was such a light little thing she hardly noticed his weight! She carefully let go and held onto his legs lightly, making sure he didn't fall backwards if he overbalanced. "You can hold onto my horns if you want. It doesn't hurt if you pull on them, so don't be afraid of grabbing them in case you think you might fall," she told Caron, tilting her head back ever so slightly and rolling her eyes upward to see him. Once she was sure Caron was properly settled she started walking, exiting the Academy and heading into town. Her destination was a cafe, a nice family-run place with a lovely outdoor garden. The owners had stuck seating out in a couple places, and there was a park not too far from it. "So you and your friend Dia are working on a book? Is Dia also a Daydream, or is she from Below," Topaz asked as she walked.

Caron held onto Topaz's horns so he wouldn't fall off and he looked around from his new perch. "Wow this is kool." he said cheerfully. Caron looked at the cafe and the strange garden that didn't really look like the above gardens. "I don't know how long it will take me to get used to the light difference here though I'm a lunar fae so the dark doesn't bother me, just different without real night and day.." Caron said softly. He nodded when Topaz asked about the book, he was writing with his friend. "Yes we want to, right now we are just collecting notes about history together. No she's a litch, a really pretty litch, I hope she'll be my girlfriend when I get older." Then Caron dug a few dollars out of his pocket. "Is it alright if I get a cookie?? Will this be enough??"

Topaz chuckled at the very forthright behavior of the tiny Fey. It was entirely charming that Caron hoped his friend would be his girlfriend when he grew up. She wondered if all Fey were so very flirtatious, and made a mental note to ask Narra the next time she saw him. "Don't worry about it. I would be a very bad big sibling if I couldn't get even a cookie for my little sibling!" She went up to the counter and pointed the cookie out to the clerk, putting some money on the counter so they could each enjoy one. "Solar and lunar? So there are different types of Fey," Topaz asked. And thus the day went, the pair trading questions back and forth and having a good time. Topaz found Caron to be quite intelligent and very curious. He asked many questions, and she asked a few of her own back, learning some new things in the process. She made sure not to keep him out too long though, not wanting to interfere with any time spent with friends or finishing homework. (( Left it so you can make this post the end if you want. Also their [ currency] is stars, crescents, and crowns, though not sure what the spending rate is so that makes it a little harder > -> ))

Caron clapped his hands happily when Topaz said he could get a cookie and then he nodded as he ate his cookie. Once he was finished he said "Yes I'm a lunar fey, I have to spend time with my moonstone, so I don't get sick. And I have different wings and stuff then solar fey. There are differences between us here and there." He said with another nod and then said "Uh oh it's really late I'm gonna get in trouble, let's meet up again through the big siblings program ok Topaz?? I really like you thank you for talking history with me and getting me a cookie!!" He said cheerfully before running off to get back to the freshling dorm before he got in trouble with the caretakers for being out to long.
