When the lotuses had bloomed Rainy hadn't been there. The Alkidike wouldn't let him stay, which made her upset. Dem had wanted to share in that joy. So instead she decided to gather her children send word to her mother and get into a boat to head to the mainland. On the short journey over she quickly became over protective, glaring at the sister that rowed them as she stared at the children. There was even a short growl that came from her in warning. Luckily nothing came of the incident. And once that was passed she lovingly stroked her girls' hair. Wearing a large grin V'demhe looked toward the shore as it came into view and instantly started to search for her mate. ------------------ Dem post 1

Water sluiced down his form as he waded out of the water, a fish thrashing from where he had it hooked on his fingers by its gills. He hummed to himself as he went about scaling and gutting it, the task thankfully mindless as his thoughts were elsewhere. He'd been camping on the border of Alkidike territory for a while now, waiting for those beautiful flower buds to open. After that first visit to them he'd been unceremoniously shooed off and hadn't been allowed back since. Oh he'd thought about sneaking in via the waterways, but the path they'd taken had been full of twisting paths and he knew he'd get hopelessly lost if he tried. The entire thing was frustrating, the waiting game. It wasn't like an earthling pregnancy, where you could count down the days until the baby arrived. He had no idea on when the children would bloom, for a lack of better understanding, and it was all he could do to simply sit there, patient. Oh he wasn't alone, nor was he lonely. Tweet was with him and every now and then he'd spy glimpses of a Radaku in the bushes. He couldn't tell what color it was or if it had patterns, but it came by every now and then and he'd taken to leaving out scraps for it. He stoked the fire higher and set the fish to roast on a stick when he spied a boat coming. From the distance he couldn't see who it was, but to see any of the Alkidikes coming this way was unusual. Then they were close enough to make out and his heart leapt to his throat. It was Dem! And from the looks of it she was holding on to something, hopefully someones. He sprang up and waded into the water, only to turn around and put his pants on before heading back in. Being caught naked once by the stoic females was bad enough, he wasn't going to let it happen a second time. "Dem! Dem!" He called out as he met the boat halfway, and beamed up at her. "Are they? She chuckled when she spotted her mate. Of course Dem saw that he was naked before he went to get his clothes on. It made her grin at him. It was probably a good thing she didn't reproduce the way earthlings did. Once he was close enough she smiled at him then nodded her head before looking down at her lap. There she held on to two beautiful little girls. "We have daughters, Virain." One of the children had his color, the blue of the Matorians, and the other had her colors. Oddly enough, however, the one with the Alk colors had no antennae but sported the fin ears. It was the blue girl that had the extra appendages like her mother. "Aren't they beautiful?" V'demhe asked. Lifting her gaze back to Rainy she had an expression that could only be described as pride. "I haven't named them yet. I thought we could do that together." She didn't want him to miss anything to do with their children. ----------------- Dem post 2

Rainy grinned at her, eyes alight with happiness, "I can't see them Dem, if I try I'll end up tipping the boat over." He floated alongside the boat, kicking his feet sedately as the boat rowed along. His stomach gave happy little flips at the news. Girls! They had girls, two little girls! The anticipation was killing him but the shore came closer and closer until the boat gently bumped the ground in the shallows. He trailed after it, and heaved himself out of the water quickly, braids dripping into the boat as he finally, finally got to see his little girls. His lips parted in silent, pleased surprised. There was no mistaking whose children they were, not with both of them sporting bits of himself in their features. He could pick out the parts that were more like Dem, and the rest was uniquely theirs to claim. He could feel his eyes welling up with tears as he reached out to stroke the little ones cheeks, to run his fingers over their hair. "Dem, they're beautiful." He breathed finally, looking at her. When they finally made it to shore and Rainy was able to see his daughters she gave a choked laugh. V'demhe was full of emotion over the whole thing as well. She waited for a moment to let her mate see their children before she managed to scoop them both up and stand so that she could exit the boat. "I told them all about you while they were waiting to bloom." She grinned. The moment she touched the water Maha came darting out of the jungle and onto the shore and trailing behind him was a pink radaku with light swirls on it. That one didn't seem as enthusiastic. "My mother bought some small trinkets for them." If she'd had an extra arm she may have shown Virain but as it was she was busy holding the two babes. "Shall we show the beasts the new additions?" Mostly she wanted to get out of the water in case the sea got rough. She was being a paranoid mother already. Dem Post 3 ------------------------- The little blue girl had been lulled to sleep by the motion of the rolling waters so she had missed the journey. What woke her was the sound of someone speaking. It made her little feelers tingle and twitch. Then something touched her cheek. Tiredly, she opened her orange colored eyes and blinked through the sleep. Her first sight was of her twin and she wiggled a little to get closer, wanting to share warmth, but her second sight was of Virain. While she didn't know who he was by name there was something that told her he was safe and trustworthy. Shifting her legs a little she gave a small coo and clung to her mother as they all seemed to move. Masika post 1

Scooping up the closest little one Rainy buried his nose in her green locks. The little girl made a sound of surprise and quickly clung to him, glancing back at Dem and her twin before settling back down. He stepped out of the water and waited for Dem, one eye on the sister who rowed them out. Would she leave now that her duty had been fulfilled? He grinned at Maha and seemed a little surprised that the pink shadow had made itself known finally. He'd seen glimpses of the pink Radaku but wasn't positive he'd ever seen it entirely. "That was kind of your mother." Virain commented, finally taking notice of the bracelets on the girls arms. He pressed a kiss to one chubby cheek and took a few steps away from the shore and squatted down, both hands holding and supporting the little one. ----- Gale didn't know what to make of the blue skinned male that took her from her mother. She both knew him and didn't and some part of her recognized him as her father. Grumpily she made little grumbling noises and popped her fingers into her mouth, the corners of her lips turned down. Then he kissed her cheek and all she could smell was salt and water and the fragrance of trees she'd never seen before, nor knew what they were, and she decided that he was alright. Her eyes caught sight of small square shiney things in his hair and no matter how hard she reached for them, they stayed just out of her grasp. She narrowed her eyes and went to try again, but then her mother was in sight and Gale burbled happily at her, all thoughts forgotten about the baubles in Rainys hair. Rainy Post 3 Galene Post 1

She smiled and gave a wave to the sister in the boat as she started to row away. It appeared she didn't want to stay with them. Then her attention went to her mate and daughter as Rainy squatted down. V'demhe chuckled and moved so that she could sit next to him cradling their other daughter. "Isn't she gorgeous? She looks like you. They both do." It was clear that she was more than happy to have her children. When Gale made noises toward her she laughed and clucked her tongue at her. "Silly girl." Dem purred at her. Maha drew closer and nosed around at the green haired baby until he finally buried his nose into her hair and sniffed and snorted. "Maha, be gentle!" Came the scolding words from V'demhe. Dem Post 4 -------------------------- Still in her mother's arms she blinked and watched everything take place. It wasn't until she was at level with her sister that she seemed to really come to life. With a whine she reached toward Gale. Her little hands making a grabby motion as she thought Galene was within reach. Little grunts of effort left her until she started to cry and wiggle. Her cries got worse when her eyes went wide at seeing Maha nose her sibling. Masika Post 2

"They do don't they? I can see you in them too! Look she has your markings and the little on in your arms has lighter hands and feet. Almost a reverse of your coloration." He grinned sappily at her, then let out a little startled sound as one tiny hand smacked him in the arm. "Ooof, easy little one, your sister isn't going anywhere. Aww, don't cry see? She's safe." He shifted closer so the blue babe could touch her sister. ----- Gale babbled as she realized that Masika was reaching for her and waved her hands in the air. She was content with the distance between them until her sibling started to cry, then the tears began to well in her own eyes. But the appearance of a large snout that started to push and snuffle at her hair broke her out of the mood as swiftly as it came. She squealed as Maha nose a bit too close to her ear fins and swung a hand at him, solidly boping him on a horn. Rainy Post 4 Galene Post 2

Dem couldn't help but wear a large grin on her face. Her precious daughters were the most beautiful thing in the world to her. As Virain pointed out the markings on Gale she nodded her head. "She does." Any farther comparing was put aside as Masika started to cry and Gale reacted to Maha. The poor radaku snorted when he was smacked and shook his head before moving away from the little girl. He would, however, move over to the other child and do the same thing. He was curious about her as well. "Easy Maha.. they are babies." Well, technically they were more like toddlers. But she didn't think her familiar would be able to really tell the difference. Looking at Rainy she'd smile. "So.. what do you think of the name Masika? It means born in the rain." She wore a hopeful expression. As well as a bit of a blush since the name was more geared toward him. Dem Post 5 ---------------------------------- She huffed as little tears stayed beaded up in her eyes. Masika wore a pout as her sister didn't seem to share her sentiment. Then she was assaulted by the cold nose and gave a squeal before crying loudly. Clearly she was going to be the one that didn't like most things. Reaching once more for her sibling she formed a word. "Sisa!" Her face showed fear of the familiar and her way of getting away from it was to go to her twin. Masika Post 3

Born in the rain huh? He mused silently as he stared at his daughters, a fond smile curling his lips as he mouthed the name. "If we're going for a water theme then...she'll be Galene. It means Calm Seas." He nuzzled her green locks, "Hopefully she'll be the level headed one but I have a feeling that she'll be as wild as the ocean waves."----- Gale blew a raspberry at her sister but obligingly patted her on her head all the while making shushing sounds. She thought her sister was silly for being afraid of Maha. If the familiar was dangerous than their parents wouldn't let him anywhere near them. Besides Maha didn't look like he wanted to eat them, just poke them with his cold nose and smell them a bit. Rainy Post 5 Galene Post 3

She instantly became pleased that Virain seemed to like the water themed name. "She acts like me when I was little..." Dem watched how Gale acted and laughed. Though since her other daughter was afraid of Maha she nudged the radaku away from her and shook her head. "Leave the babies alone boy. They have to get used to you." Maha huffed but he moved so that he could lay behind Dem. No sooner than he seemed to hit the sand and Tanou, the pink one, came walking over and sniffed at the air. She knew V'demhe and had spied on Rainy but the little ones were new to her. V'demhe saw the other radaku of hers and smiled. "Hey there Tanou, decided to come out of the trees I see." She laughed at the behavior of the beast then gave her attention back to her daughters. "Galene and Masika it is. Our beautiful little girls." Dem Post 6 ------------------------------------------ She seemed to quiet down when her sister shushed her and since the radaku had left her alone she didn't need to cry. Now she was busy looking at Virain and the things in his hair. They caught her attention and she seemed to stare before remembering that her mother had things in her hair too. So she twisted around and did her best to lean to the side so she could see what Dem had in her hair. "Om.. miiine." Masika muttered as she reached for the beads in V'demhe's dreads. Masika Post 4

"Does this mean we'll have our hands full?" He asked, watching as Galene tried reaching for Tanou. The pink radaku was new to him, as she never really let herself be seen by him, let alone come out to get some loving like Maha always did. He grinned at Dems words and had to adjust his grip on his squirming guppy who seemed to be getting more and more frustrated as she was denied her freedom. "Oh hush, she'll come to you if she wants attention." He chided, bouncing her a little. His gaze moved to Masika when she started to shift around. "Ah, Masi no, hair things are for when you're older." He would have tried to reach out, but Galene didn't give him the opportunity. ----- "Siiissssaaaa. Oook!" She gestured wildly at Tanou then at Maha, and when Virain didn't let her go she started to whine. "Daaaa nooooo. Goooo 'm goooo!" She squirmed and kicked and worked herself up to the point where tears started to well in her eyes and slide down her chubby cheeks. Eventually she tired herself to the point where she didn't struggle as much but her pout intensified and the look she gave Virain was one of utter betrayal. Rainy Post 6 Galene Post 4

She considered his words for a minute then nodded her head. "Yes, I believe so Rainy." Not that she minded. V'demhe's heart was already filled with love for the two colorful daughters of hers. Wearing a smile she watched as Galene tried to go to Tanou. Dem chuckled and shook her head before she leaned forward and gently poked her squirming little one in the tummy. "Her name is Tanou. Say Tanou and she might come to you." Maha watched Gale as well, but he seemed anxious and wanted to inch toward her. He had been so interested in what she was earlier and he still was. The pink radaku looked toward the little thing as it cried and wiggled then at Virain. She knew him, well, sort of, but that little thing she was iffy on. What was it? Leaning forward had been a bad decision for Dem since it enabled Masika to take hold of the beads in her hair. She gave a wince when they were pulled on but laughed at the same time. "Take it easy Masika.. those are attached." Bringing her eyes up to look at her mate she couldn't help but grin at him. "Oh yes.. our hands will be very full." She commented. -------------------- Masika paused in her reach to look at her daddy when he told her no. A very small pout taking shape. "Miiiine." Then her sister wanted her attention for something and her orange eyes went to her twin. Curiosity filled her eyes as she looked on at what it was that Gale found so cool. It was pink! Her little eyes grew wide as she smiled. "Piiiint!" Masi gave grabby hands toward the beast but she too was being held back by a parent. Only she didn't cry like Galene did, instead she soon became distracted by beads dangling in front of her. She shot her chubby hands up and snatched them up so that she could pull on them. Her mother had leaned forward and put them within her reach. "Miiine! Daadaae, miiiiine!" She seemed so proud of herself for getting what she had been after.
