Ichil's scarf and skirt lay on the bed beside her. She picked up the remaining fabric and held it in her hands. It was soft, but not too light. Oban nights could get a little chilly on occasion but never so much as one needed a jacket. She was lucky then that her blouse didn't need any sleeves. It would be a normal top, of her normal preference. She had no problem showing off her midsection, but she preferred that her more private bits remained under cover. If you didn't leave anything to the imagination, where was the fun of it? Then again, maybe she was secretly modest. Of her hair she was vain, of her body as a whole, but she felt no need and had no desire to show anyone the bits meant only for husbands and lovers. Only the former, if her father had any say!

She stopped a moment and peered out the window. She had a fine view of the moon from here, and the sky was clear. All celestial bodies were bright like gems. She smiled. Lately her life had been going rather well, actually. Father had begun scolding her less when she escaped, almost like he was giving in, and in return she had attended more than her preferred number of noble parties and even behaved. There were still rumors, of course, but those were unavoidable.

Ichil had purchased a special pattern for this blouse and worked diligently. Sleep wasn't threatening her yet, although it was definitely late. Her hands ached slightly but her thimble helped. She had nicked it from the family seamstress' kit on her last visit. She left some room to take it out, knowing that she size of her waist and the size of her breasts did not necessarily agree with one another, tried it on, found it too small in important places, but was able to let them out and get the perfect fit. She was getting better at this!
