Chosovi had dealt many things in her life up until now, but dealing with heartache was not one of them. She had fought off a skin walker, killed a bear, fought off a pack a wolves, and even saved her child from making the worst decision in her life, but nothing compared to how she was feeling. It was something she couldn't control or handle. It was something that didn't stop no matter how many times she tried to push it away and the endless hours of thinking made her crazy. She felt like killing everything around her just so that she could feel something other then this. Something better and less hurtful. She couldn't believe that her of all mares fell in love and now she was paying the price for it. She had no idea where he went and had no idea when he was going to return. In the back of her mind, she knew he would but there was always something in her saying that he was never coming back. She had trust issues and it was obvious that even now she was battling with them. Her daughter kept telling her everything was going to be fine, but she didn't listen. Hex was young and new to everything in the world so she didn't know this feeling. Not yet anyway.

She had gone out early in the morning for a hunt and it was like any other hunt. She would track the creature and kill it fairly quickly. She ate her fill and felt pleased for the moment until that same painful feeling crept back into her body. So instead of going home like she should have done, she rampaged through the forest taking her anger out on trees. She would claw at them to the point where she would completely scrape off their bark and then continue on. The only thing that stopped her from feeling anything was the pain she was inflicting on herself. She bashed trees, tackling them head on as if she was going to wrestle one down. She scraped up her pretty white and gray coat causing herself to bleed in a few areas.

She took a deep breath after finally calming down a little bit, she walked slowly through the carnage she had caused feeling her vision getting a little blurry, but she battled through it. She was a strong mare. A tough mare physically, but emotionally she was a mess. She couldn't handle this. She couldn't handle being away from him and not knowing if he was ever coming back. She thought she finally found the one. The one she could open her heart to and never judge her for being the way she is. Maybe she was wrong in that assumption because he was nowhere to be found. The thought of him running off with another mare was enough to make her want to murder whomever it was. She wasn't the type to just sit and let it happen. She would go after her or him if she had to prove a point. Of course it wouldn't make her feel better, but it would solve her problem even if she spent her life miserable after that.

Stopping at a small creek the mare took a drink of water not realizing that in her carnage she attracted the attention of a slumbering bear that wasn't too happy she woke him. Her ears perked at the sound of steps nearing causing her to quickly turn around to face the enormous beast. She couldn't take this bear on in her state and she promised Gareth she would never get badly injured again for the sake of their family. She snorted at that notion before darting away from him nearly getting clipped by the bears claw as it came flying towards her. She could easily outrun it, but it was going to take some time. She darted through the trees as quickly as he could hearing the bears roars behind her. Normally she would try getting in a tree, but there wasn't any high enough or strong enough to withstand her or the bear. So she continued on. Feeling her claws digging into the soft soil as she ran.

Then she saw it, her big break. She dove into the river not really caring that it was dangerous. In doing so, she lost the bear quickly and also managed to get herself into another predicament. The river was violent and the rapids were smashing against everything imaginable. She had to act quickly and luckily she was so use to danger that this was second nature to her. She latched herself onto a downed tree in the water and climbed on it. It was close to the shore, but not incredibly close. So she used all her strength to give a good jump landing her right onto the shore. She was soaked and a lot farther down shore then she would have liked, but she knew this river ended in a waterfall. She had been there before and it simply meant a few days trek back to her home.

Taking in a deep breath, she let out an annoyed growl shaking off the excess water and looking up locking eyes with a stallion. He had tree's on him which was so confusing and something so odd to her. She quickly got in defensive mode and growled as deep as she possibly could to scare him off. She couldn't puff out her tail and she looked like a wet mess. Not to mention she was still bleeding.

She didn't like strangers because it meant just someone else she would get to know and someone else that would leave again.

When he and his sibling were little more than young foals, Laurelin had spoken to them of the nightmarish fiends that were whispered to rule the shadows of her home. These creatures took the skins of others and were able to blend in among the beings who walked in the light, whispering promises to lure them away so that they could feast upon their hearts. It had been a story that had given Hallon nightmares, and Laurelin had comforted him in the darkness, promising that such creatures would not find their way to these lands.

It felt a childish fear to think of such a thing now as he wandered the perimeter of his home, and he shook his head as though to chase off the memory. Something caught his eye unexpectedly, and Hallon paused. The trees in this area had been savaged, their bark stripped away in angry swathes with great force. Hallon had never seen such a thing, stepping closer to tentatively nose at the pulpy wood. He shuddered slightly, wondering what it would even feel like if his own tree was assaulted in such a fashion.

The scent of blood hit his nostrils, and Hallon nearly tripped over his own hooves, eyes widening as he froze. After a moment's indecision, he flicked his tail anxiously and began to move forward. Of course there were hunters in their grove; hawks preyed on mice, and bobcats and coyotes went for rabbits. This was natural. Perhaps a mountain lion had moved in, and was marking its territory upon the trees? Still, he somehow doubted it.

As he continued to wander towards the river that cut through their family home, a violent splashing made his ears p***k forward. He didn't hesitate, racing towards the sound of the commotion without any regard for his own well being.

Standing before him was a mare he'd never seen before, her lips drawn back to bare sharp teeth. He'd never seen a creature like her before, and the threatening growl that she emitted made him stop dead. Her hide was streaked with water and... yes, blood. Had it been her blood he'd smelled before? Compassion drove him to speak, though he kept his distance. She clearly didn't want him to get any closer.

"Are you badly injured?" The young stallion asked, his eyes bright with worry. His mother would know what to do in such a situation, but Hallon could only fumblingly guess at what the proper action should be. "I won't hurt you," He added quickly, hoping to abate any fears she might have. If she was lost and injured, was there any wonder why she'd be trying to scare him off? Hallon pawed the ground quietly with worry.
