Weeks passed, bloodied limbs scabbed over and torn skin grafted back together all the while the former Prince-of-Pout sulked deep within her poorly lit bedchambers lapping at her wounds. It wasn’t that Nera didn’t know how to fight, she had the instincts and was well versed in combat tactics it was just--- the fear. Crippling anxiety that choked every movement from her body, she knew that she had to face the difficulties head on but she knew she wasn’t getting any better at defending herself. Maybe fighting animals wasn’t enough; maybe she needed to increase the danger.
Sweat dripped down the small of the boyish Oban’s back as she crouched into the sand and released her whip. The ferocious Raptrix simply pumped his massive wings and shook his heavily furred head in disregard to his opponent. It was just a whelp not even old enough to supply him with a fair amount of meat to placate his enormous hunger, that however didn’t concern him what mattered the most was that he won. Victory guaranteed food in his belly and warm, dry bedding, all he needed to do was run the pup down and wait for her to give in, any bloodshed would only besmirch his skill, all he needed to do was humiliate the female-creature for the enjoyment of his captors.
“Just a little more,” a wheeze breached the lean-figured Oban’s lips, she was so exhausted, every attempt she made to connect with the canine ended with it out maneuvering her. Not a single blow landed but at least she wasn’t afraid. Her body moved with more assurance and the strength in her limbs radiated from her core keeping her steadfast. However the match was over, the allotted time had escaped her and her coin was forfeit. Raising up a hand she signaled for the bout to end and made her way towards the exit. Tomorrow she would do better.
