And then I got distracted. I'm figuring on Youma, feel free to toss anyone who doesn't mind another baby page. Less derp than Cordoba. >>;

Alfred Abney was walking home from the bookstore with a plastic bag hanging from his wrist of a new store of books, one his nose was presently buried in.It wasn't uncommon for the young man to be buried in books, though usually he had his sister or a cousin for aid navigating, and today was a rare exception, the young man moving, listening to the area with half-interest and blessedly missing more than a few toes as he walked, entirely engrossed as he did, stretching finally.

The cold air was that of a winter experienced in the northern regions and Alfred hummed, mentally cursing the cold before turning and giving pause at the sound of paper shifting, and he finally looked up, neatly placing a bookmark in his book before snapping it shut and placing it in his back, and grey eyes looked around, almost idly.

"Don't tell me someone's left a dog out hete." He sighed in exasperation. "I would hardly enjoy hearing my cousin go on to keep it..."

Camelot was holding Hadaya, who said he was fine to walk and go on patrol but then decided about ten feet into the effort that he could not keep up and needed to be carried. It was not a surprise to the Royal Knight, who was more than familiar enough with the cat's tactics these days.

Hadaya was lazy, and thus tubby for a reason. But at least he was sweet, and purred all the while, making his appreciation for the help very clear. Anyway, walking around on those stubby legs was probably not an easy task.

The cat was perfectly happy to let him think that.

Camelot paused in his walk, looking around, and Hadaya looked up at him in wonder. "What's wrong?"

"I got a funny feeling," Camelot said, changing direction and following after the sensation. He knew what it was, now, at least. The aura of a knight that had not yet awakened, weak and distant, but there. He spotted the source not too long after, though it was on the other end of the street. "See that? That's a page that's about to awaken. You know how you can sense senshi and help awaken them? Well. I can sense knights... except they have to have their weapons appear to them on their own. So, since I can't awaken them directly, I try to keep an eye out over them. Just in case."

Hadaya was fascinated by knights, and had never seen one awaken before. If that happened, he would be mind blown.

Alfred was oblivious to the approach of the cat and Royal Knight, and he approached the sound slowly, hand neatly curling to keep grip on his bag of treasures as he crept near the rustling papers before they stopped, and he made a sound of disgust, eyes narrowing at the sudden stillness.

Something had to be there - there was no wind, simply the papers moved, and Alfred eyed them before a serpent emerged - not, however, quite the breed he expected so much as a scaled and winged serpent, with fore talons and plumage of many hues and colours, and Alfred jumped back into a can as the Quetzalcoatl youma screeched like a bird that slept in too many deserts, the teen huffing in alarm before looking around.

What was it and WHY?!

Camelot moved closer and spotted the youma, grimacing. He hated that part of awakening was generally tied to danger, and this youma was a part of that. At least he was there to stop it, if it got too close to hurting the newbie Page that was just waiting to wake up.

It just needed a little prompting... a little... push.

Camelot leaped into an alley to avoid being spotted, for now, but peeked out to watch the youma closely. He could close the distance between the two of them easily now, with his power and speed, and felt like the young man was in a safe enough position despite not knowing it. It had to be scary, of course, but no harm would come to him so long as Camelot was there.

That was kind of his thing, after all.

Hadaya watched with wide eyes, leaping out of Camelot's arms and running on his stumpy legs toward the boy and the youma.

"Be careful, it's a monster! Run, run!" he yelped, not really understanding Camelot's plans and seeming dead set on doing his best to ruin them.

Alfred began moving back carefully, clutching his bag as the corners of his mouth twitched, itching to frown at the youma behginning to rise on it's tail to display it's plumage, one winged arm raising and then--

It and Alfred looked towards Hadaya, the as-of-yet unawakened Page blinking before the youma moved first, rushing for Hadaya like lightening and Alfred's lips pursed in a line. Inwardly, everly cell was screaming at him to heed his fight or flight instinct, but surely that might endanger the small, if but tubby cat before him, and instead he looked around for some form of suitable weapon, grimacing at trash bags and bns, as well as lids, and unconciously held her bag of books protectively before sighting a small metal drawing compass, weathered and tired but still it seemed useful enough - if nothing else to lure the monster back to try using a lid to slice the head off like his books. It was better than nothing; however Alfred did so much prefer a shovel.

Beggars weren't choosers, however, and he moved, collecting the compass neatly, before things became very, very strange.

Such as his clothing, and he froze, studying the sudden change before putting his bag in a safe-seeming location, eying the compass.

"Unusual." He grumbled. "But I'll study this, erm, after I sort this mess I suppose."

Not that he knew Camelot was there, and he moved to see if he couldn't try intercepting the youma before it reached Hadaya, still not sure how a cat spoke. Maybe a talking collar...

Bad move. All things were bad. Hadaya skidded to a stop, looking at the youma with wide eyes as it rocketed toward him now. It would seem a small, fat, fairly slow cat was a much easier target than a large human, and he probably should have considered that first.

His ears flattened against his head.

Camelot felt the rush of power as the Page found his weapon, and moved to help Hadaya. It seemed the Guardian cat had a future in helping to awaken knights, as well as senshi, though Camelot doubted the cat would like to be used as bait on a regular basis. That was good for this one time, though, and it worked out well enough.

The Royal Knight scooped Hadaya up as the Page stepped in to defend him.

"Hello there," Camelot said jovially, like a monster was not attacking. "I've got my arms full of cat. Would you mind attacking that thing? You can use that new weapon you found, that compass I see, to destroy it. I'll help you."

Was he the talking cat's owner? Stonehenge had to admit he reminded him of the garb one of Reynard's friends on the internet dressed an MMO character in, but now was no time to remark on that, the fresh Page instead holding the compass up with a bemused smirk.

"They do say the Pen is mightier than the sword, if you perhaps added a pen to this." He commented with a faint smile at his own humor before remembering the youma charging in - as ir reared to screech, trying to snap and snarl before Stonehenge sniffed, preparing to throw the compass as planned. If this stranger intended to help? He wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Don't worry the man in armor and a cape carrying the talking cat is here to help.

Camelot watched the young page carefully, letting him attack the youma. The hit wouldn't be enough to dust it, and it certainly looked mad afterwards, so he stepped forward to punch the thing with his free hand, dusting it fairly quickly.

A lot of youma tended to fall fast, these days, but he supposed his rank had something to do with that. And hell, he was glad for it: the tougher ones tended to be large and terrifying.

"Ah. I didn't mean to kill that, I wanted to let you try out your new powers a bit more... sorry about that. Oh! I'm Camelot." He shifted Hadaya, who was clinging to him desperately, to his other arm and offered his hand to Stonehenge in greeting. "Royal Knight of Earth. It's nice to meet you. I'm sure you have... a couple of questions?"

Anyone carrying a cat iisn't evil clearly.

Stonehenge blinked, picking his weapon up from near the dust and turned back, accepting and shaking Camelot's hand calmly. It was certainly an odd experience, and not one he'd expected, nor wanted to relive soon, but--

-- Knight?

"Pleasure." Stonehenge shook his hand and nodded, nudging his new uniform with a calm form of curiousity.

"Dare I ask where this outfit came from? All of this reminds me of a game my cousins play on the internet. Or I suppose some of the books at home. The fictional stories. ... And are you truly named for a place in Aurthurian Legend?"

It was a bit, but the young man was curious, and if questions were welcome, he had no problems asking.

"That is your Knight outfit. That item you picked up was a source of power, and it awakened something sleeping inside you. The ability to turn into who you are now, a Page, the first rank of the knights. You've been given the power to fight, to protect the innocents of this city, and to defend against the growing Chaos threat."

He would explain things in due time, not wanting to overwhelm the newbie with information.

"I am named for just that! And I've been there. Legends might not be as fictional as you once believed. You'll discover your own story, your own history, as well. You know your name, your knight name, though you haven't thought about it. What is it?"

He always liked meeting new Pages, smiling warmly as Hadaya wiggled in his arms, finally waking up from his fear shock.

"Oh! The Page awakened! I missed it! OH LAME."

Awakened? The way the cat phrased it, Stonehenge supposed it was like waking from sleep, while Camelot deemed it as something else. Intriguing, but not quite as unusual as the cat, though he focused rather more on the explination, filing it away in his mind neatly as he ignored the rising anxiety from having to risk more monsters. Certainly not something he wanted.

And Camelot asked his name as- what?

For a moment, Stonehenge looked incredulous, not quite believing what he was being asked, although it was better than Alfred. Nobody called him Alfie with this - would they?

"Stonehenge, I believe. It sounds perhaps worth looking into some books, if nothing else, regarding places." He chuckled in amusement. He likely had a book or two on myth, he assured himself. That may explain everything; if not? He'd go badgering Reynard or even Cherish.

His free hand then extended to Hadaya, scratching under his chin calmly.

"Perhas if you were a bit calmer, it seems. But you, you're intriguing. How do you speak?"

While normally he tried tactful, he WAS curious.

"Stonehenge it is. That's a curious name! More familiar and present in modern times than most. I think you'll end up getting a lot of jokes, like I do, because you're something other knights and people can recognize."

He smiled, nodding his head and feeling immediate kinship.

Hadaya, meanwhile, burst into purrs the moment he was touched, rubbing against the hand that was offered to him eagerly. He could never get enough love, even though Camelot was holding him and apparently meant nothing to him. The Royal Knight was use to that, at this point, as Hadaya lived with him, and always loved strangers more than the man he felt was intimidating. It wasn't really that: Hadaya just saw Camelot as the alpha, and was a little scared of him. It was hard to want affection and love from someone he saw as the boss.

He'd get there, eventually.

"I'm a guardian cat! I'm like you! Well. Not just like you. I'm from space, a race called Mauvians! We protect Senshi, who are fighters like you knights, but I think they're better! Sorry. But they are. But I still like you!" Hadaya said, nodding his head, his voice rumbling with his intense purrs. Camelot rolled his eyes.

"We all fight on the same side of the war against Chaos. Knights, like you, and senshi are part of the White Moon, the side of Order."

"As long as they realize I'm not a rock circle." Stonehenge drawled in amusement, but understood Camelot's warning and nodded gratefully. Gloved fingers continued scratching Hadaya lightly, though a brow raised to the cat a bit, and he shrugged.

"I'm disinclined to agree I'm afraid, with your sentiment, as I know little of them past what you've said. Hardly enough to decide myself."

Plus, Stonehenge quite felt he himself was a rather good knight already, by keeping his cool. And perhaps Camelot, he supposed; it was a pity his cousins we no knights however, or it would be more in the air.

"So it's a battle of Order and the Organization of all versus primordial Chaos, or similar philisophical believe?"

Quite surprising if it wasn't the Greek definition, he felt, for sure. Perhaps a trip to the library was in order...

Camelot chuckled, nodding his head. It was a fair enough answer, though Hadaya would continue to believe that senshi were the best. The little cat could not help but be bias. Camelot, for his part, tried to be even tempered about things, and not show preference, but of course... he was a knight, and his fellow knights often became his babbies.

"Essentially. Chaos is a corruptive force, and can cause a lot of damage to the civilian and Order populous if left unchecked. They seek to wipe us out, to make everything Chaos, and it is our duty to protect this planet."

Camelot bent to put Hadaya down, though the cat looked unhappy with that decision and moved close to Stonehenge to compensate, rubbing his head against the new Page's leg.

"I'm more than happy to answer any questions you have. I'm sure there are a lot. I patrol at the library almost every night and, of course, I work there during the day." The Royal Knight always let others know where to find him, though his aura made hunting him down pretty easy.

You're never going to be rid of him now Camelot.

"Dorruptive - odd. Doesn't sound like myths then, at least, that I know of." Stonehenge appeared thoughtful, looking down to Hadaya before stooping to stroke the cat, scratching between ears calmly as he looked up awkwardly to Camelot, adjusting to kneel finally for easier petting and speaking properly.

"To what end would corrupting everything serve them? Do we kno-- Library?"

Suddenly Stonehenge's eyes lit up brightly. "Really? I'm there often. I don't recall seeing you, however?"

Still Csamelot understood his language, escalating him in Stonehenge's eyes. Still not as amazing as his family or himself, but worthy of significant respect for working a library.
