 Weeks and days of traveling through various and sometimes vicious weather patterns, brought this grey stallion to the area. He came from the far northern lands, where there was nothing but ice and snow, which was constantly being scattered around by a vicious wind. So to come upon this land, which while covered in snow, wasn't showing winter's hatred, but the beauty that winter could hold, he was in awe. Perhaps here, here he could find his long lost sister. Maybe she became attracted to the beauty that this land held, and she was somewhere within it's beauty.
Spying a lake nearby, with it's ice blanket glittering in the sunlight, Noel decided to head in that direction. He did need a drink of water and nothing was better then water that was so cold it had ice covering it. With each step he took, the bells chimed quietly, almost making the whole scene magical with how calm and peaceful everything was on this snowy winter day.
Looking down at the edge of the ice covered water that he finally reached. He could see his reflection and he couldn't help but sigh. "I hope the stars allow me to have my wish. I've been searching for so long for my sister, but I'm afraid if I can't find her in this land, that I may just have to give up the search entirely." The thought of giving up and declaring his sister dead, brought tears to his eyes but with such a long search already he knew that, that was the most likely scenario. Yet he wasn't ready to give up. Using his hoof, he broke through the ice just enough so he could drink some of the cold water and try to get his mind off of those thoughts.

 The young mare had decided early that morning that she would leave her mother in the care of the rest of the family so she could get some time to herself. Watching her mother ALL the time, making sure no harm came to the older mare, was exhausting. Skylark loved her mother to death, but sometimes she wished that her mother was able to act like an adult. Never did she blame her mother's condition on her mother, but there were days she just couldn't help but be frustrated. Her father was off on some important business and wasn't around, so she had taken over the duties of caretaker, but she couldn't help but wonder where her father was.
She had decided to head to the lake that was near the herd's home, for on this snowy day, it would be quiet. What she didn't realize was that someone else would be there, contemplating similar thoughts to her own, except instead of a father, they were looking for a sister. As she walked, the bells rang gently through the air, but the closer she got to the lake, the more confused she became because the bells almost seemed to echo, despite there being nothing for the sound to echo off from.
Her confusion was quickly replaced by surprise when she saw a stallion at the edge of the water. He looked like he was a family member of hers, but yet she had never seen him before, and he had bells too! Perhaps he was related? Skylark couldn't understand how he couldn't be related. "Hello?" she gently called out to him, hoping he didn't startle and run from her. She honestly was curious as to whether or not he could be related.

Ears twitching, he turned towards the direction the hello was called from and Noel smiled as he saw another winged one like himself. He also noticed the bell hanging from around her neck. Perhaps bells were fairly common in this land. "Hello there. I'm sorry if I'm intruding in someone's herd lands.I'm just traveling through." He explained, just in case he was trespassing on herd grounds by being here at the lake.
"My name is Noel, it's a pleasure to meet you." The stallion introduced himself as he lowered his head in a bow. He couldn't help but admire the mare's beauty. At the same time he really hope that he wasn't bothering her. Though, perhaps this young mare would happen to know of anyone who could help find his sister.

"Noel, that's a very pretty name." Skylark smiled at the stallion as she studied him closer. She just couldn't shake the thought that maybe, just maybe he was related somehow. He looked so much like the rest of the family that he could easily be mistaken for one of them. "Oh dear, I'm sorry. I don't mean to stare. I'm just kind of in shock. My name is Skylark. My herd is just over yonder where the willow trees all are. If you'd like to come and rest up and gather some supplies before you head back out on your way you're more then welcome to." She offered after apologizing for the fact she had been staring at him. In a way she did hope that he would come with her back to the herd so that way she could further question him on where he came from and what he was doing, but she didn't want to do that right here when he might be in a rush to continue on his way.

The grey colored stallion was a bit confused by the mare staring, but shook it off. She probably just wasn't used to strangers he reasoned with himself. When she offered to let him come rest and replenish though, he had to take her up on that offer. Perhaps he could gain some information on his sister, at the very least find out if she was still alive. The only thing he knew of her was that her name was Adelle and she was from the far north like he was. Noel shook his head slightly clearing his thoughts and internally scolding himself for being so rude to the mare who had just invited him to her home. "My dear, please forgive an old stallion for being lost in thought. I've just been on a long journey and I don't forsee ever finding an end to it." He sighed, the sadness creeping in ever so slightly. "But, I would love to join you in your herdlands. It sounds pleasant."

Yes! He was going to come with her to the herd! Which means she could question him about why he was traveling. He did look weary, and she could see that he had been traveling a long time with the way he carried himself. "Well then, come with me and I'll take you to the Silver Willow Bell herd." Skylark smiled as she turned and started to lead the way back home. "So, if you don't mind me asking, why have you been traveling?" Her curiosity got the best of her and she just couldn't hold it in any longer. "Do you have family down here?" Glancing back at him to make sure he was following she still couldn't help but be amazed at just how much like the family he looked.

Noel turned and followed the kind mare, and he couldn't help but chuckle as her questions started to spill from her mouth. "Why am I traveling? Well, I'm searching for someone, a sister. We were separated a very very long time ago. Honestly I don't even know if she's even still alive." His voice held a tinge of saddness as he spoke, with thoughts going through his head, just wondering if he missed being able to get to know his sister if perhaps she had passed onto the next life. "As far as family, well, that's why I'm searching here. I'm hoping that she's here in this land. If I can't find her soon, I'm going to just have to face the fact that she's dead." Which is something he did not want to accept, but he knew he couldn't keep traveling like this, being as old as he was. He needed to eventually settle down and let his weary body rest, and finally relax. Though he wasn't sure if his mind ever would, as it would always be wondering what his sister would have been like.
