User ImageThe weather was chilly, the wind brisk, the sky a uniform grey that just seemed to go with winter season. And Morginn was miserable. If he hadn't run out of a specific pattern of fabric he needed he would never have gone out. In general he tried his very best to never leave the comfort of indoors during the cold months. At least he wasn't suffering as much as he could have. With Fallen and Chimera around the clothing stores were prepared for creatures with wings, and his own skill with needle and thread allowed him to easily alter his outfits to something a bit more comfortable and Fey-friendly. His flower was snug under his coat without being crushed by the material, his wings pulled as tight as he could against the warm material on his back. While Morginn normally preferred more flow-y bottoms, with the cold breeze swirling around he'd opted to wear pants for his foray outside. The less cold drafts that got through the better!

'Thank you, come again soon!'

Morginn smiled and nodded politely to the store clerk, tucking his fabric purchase in his handmade shopping bag. Roomy to hold a lot of purchases, tons of pockets for small things he might have to carry around, and with a padded strap so he didn't cut his shoulder in half if he happened to buy anything heavy. He made his way out into the cold, but halfway back to the university he was regretting it.

It wouldn't hurt to stop and warm up again, right? Overhead the clouds seemed darker and thicker than before. Was that normal winter sky activity for this area, or was it going to rain? Or, gods forbid, snow? Still, it was all the excuse Morginn needed to duck into a little cafe. As the warm air washed over him he felt his muscles relaxing. Yes, this was what he needed. Warm drinks were practically required on cold days, after all!

User Image Dandelion had long ago settled into the cafe, seeking warmth from the cold. Her heart hammered nervously as she closed her laptop, having finished a discussion with the person she was considering imbuing stones with. Each discussion left her a mess, as if she had been shaken up and set down. Soon, her life would take a change, but that soon wasn't today. Today, instead, was full of cold. She had sought shelter beside the fireplace in the cafe, taking one of the large seats for herself. No one had claimed the ones beside her, and Dandi was honestly glad at the moment. They didn't have to see her awkward chat or teal cheeks, good.

She didn't have classes today, and Dandelion had no desire to get up and leave the cafe anytime soon. She did not dare face the cold yet. She never dressed warmly, mostly out of sheerly forgetting. Now, she regretted it. Sometime tonight she'd need to get up and brace the cold. She was in for a ride, and she knew it. For right now, she could pretend otherwise. She didn't need to focus on that right now.

Morginn ordered his drink and looked around for a place to sit while it was being made. He automatically eliminated anything by the doors or windows. Far too much cold air and drafts around those spots! Unfortunately everyone else seemed to have the same idea, and most of the ideal tables were taken over by groups. The wall furthest from the door had been given over to shelves holding merchandise; no seating to be found there. That meant his remaining option was the little fireplace, cheerily blazing away. He shivered a little. He had no major aversion to fire, but he always felt cautious around it. Still, there were plenty of chairs open and the promise of warmth outweighed his reluctance.

He accepted his drink from the cheery barista and made his way over to the fireplace. As soon as he saw who was sitting in one of the chairs, he felt his anxiety ratchet up.

'Don't be silly,' Morginn internally chided himself. Sure, Demons and Fey didn't have the best of relationships, historically speaking, but wasn't that the point of the exchange program? Getting to know each other better and learn to get along and all that? It was silly to get all worked up over someone he didn't even know yet!

He settled himself into a chair with care for his wings, antennae twitching as he tried covertly peeking at the Demon. She was quite beautiful. With his eye for colors and patterns, he couldn't help but admire her skin and the contrast it made with her clothing. Clothing that didn't seem like it would do much to protect her from the very cold winds.

"Forget your coat," he asked sympathetically, totally forgetting that he was a complete stranger and that as far as opening lines went his was a bit odd and out of nowhere.

Random thought, but how tall is Dandi?

User Image Dandi's head snapped up at the question, eyes locking on the one who had asked it. It took a second for her to determine what he had said before, with a surprised huff, she glanced at herself. Right, a coat!

"I seem to have." She mused, shivering as her eyes trailed back to the window. She really didn't want to go back out in that, but she would need to, soon. Her eyes trailed to the other, nodding towards them with a faint smile. "You're better prepared. I'm envious." Ah, that was proper conversing, right? She was doing it, right?

Morginn spent a bit more time sizing up the Demon. Like pretty much everyone else he'd met, she was taller than him. They were both sitting, but he had a pretty good eye for sizing. Even by Fey standards Morginn was a bit short, though he had met a few others even shorter than he. The only time he didn't feel like he was surrounded by giants was when he conversed with Imps, Geists, or other Fey though he was still usually shorter than most of those as well. Not that it really bothered him. Living closely with Dryads, Morginn had was quite used to tilting his head back to look into faces. At least while they were both seated they were at a similar eye level; he wouldn't have to worry about getting a crick in his neck!

"I'm just grateful it isn't snowing or raining. The cold is bad enough without adding any dampness to the mix!" He cast an anxious glance towards the windows, though they were far enough away from them that at this angle he couldn't really see outside.

Morginn looked back to the Demon, pulling his mind away from the treacherous cold. "I'd be happy to lend you a coat. I'm wearing several," he admitted, pulling the openings to show off the layers of fabric. It seemed to work best for keeping drafts away, he'd learned. Given how roomy he liked his outerwear to be, it might fit. Probably a bit snug around the shoulders, but he'd made the coat long enough that even on the Demon the length should be fine.

"It's no trouble. I'm studying fashion, so I'm always making new clothes," he said with a chuckle, hoping to reassure in case the Demon thought she'd be taking his clothes. "I'd hate to see anyone cold if I can help it." He shuddered a little. "I don't know how people can actually like this kind of weather!"
