Lace's ears twitched up and down as she looked around. She was pulling something along the sidewalk in a very quiet neighborhood and stopped every now and again when she thought she heard a voice or the sound of people...or worse the sound of other animals.
Since awakening, she had done her best to outright avoid all the trouble she could, massing small piles of shinies in different hiding spots since Silk like to come through and destroy her things. Silk always destroys her things.
To anyone, it looked like a small kitten trying to cart off a string of coins and fake jewels. To the powered, it was a guardian cat making of with something expensive.

The night was chill, and there were still patches of snow on the sidewalks, but that didn't bother Pyewacket. He liked snow; it glittered under the streetlamps of the residential neighborhood he found himself wandering through like stars fallen from the sky. His thick blue-grey coat kept him warm, too, as he padded along the pavement. It was a good night for patrolling and reaching out with his senses for others with powers like his. Then he felt it: an aura like the one of that dreadful little kitten he'd encountered in the bookstore, tickling faintly along his spine. His tail twitched and his back rippled. That had been his first encounter with another cat like him, and it was still fresh in his mind. He ran toward it, keeping his senses focused on the Chaos aura as it grew stronger. Finally he spotted a small dark form up ahead. That must be it! Ducking into a hedgerow, he kept himself very still, feeling the aura grow stronger as the creature approached; he soon saw it was a little black kitten, not unlike the one he'd squabbled with at Bell Book and Candle. What was it dragging along with it? "Hello," he said when the kitten was within earshot, his green eyes glowing from within the hedge. "What have you got there, little one?"

She jumped when another cat spoke to her, backing into the concrete rise on the sidewalk and looking around guilty. Ever so slowly, and because he wasn't attacking, her paws hit the ground. She didn't like this bright feeling he was giving off, but maybe it was cause he was different?
"I...I fou...found it." She reached a paw out to reclaim her shiny prize. "I..I didn't steal...steal it or anything." She looked him over, from the ruffle around her neck and trying to understand exactly what he was. Not a chaos cat...
"W...who are y..you?"

Likewise Pye didn't like the dark feeling the kitten was giving off. It was making his back ripple. He felt bad for startling her, but not that bad, not if she was anything like the kitten at the bookstore. As her tiny paw pulled her treasure back toward her, he could see that it was a bracelet or necklace of some kind, and not a cheap one either. "Pyewacket," he replied, slinking cautiously into view, just his head and shoulders appearing from the hedge. He eyed her more closely. She had some sort of ruff around her neck with a wide ribbon tying it together and wide amber-orange eyes. Terribly cute little thing. Why did she feel so wrong to him? "And I didn't accuse you of stealing it, little one. I'm sure you simply found it lying on the pavement." He remained crouched where he was, not wanting to frighten her, as she seemed rather nervous as it was. "What's your name?"

"Oh...Oh nice...nice to meet you then Pyewacket." She peeked over at him now that he was crouched down and non threatening. He was a bigger cat then herself, so even if he attacked, she wouldn't be able to do anything about it.
She moved a bit closer and then also sat down. "I f...found it here. Some men came running out..." She looked around, "They had a bag of them but this is the only one that dropped out!" She waited, "My name is...La..Lace! I'm a guardian cat? I think. That's what I was told..."

"My pleasure, Lace." Pyewacket edged further out from the hedge and out of his crouch, as advancing while crouching was what one did while stalking prey. The little black kitten wasn't prey, at least not in the conventional sense. She was however extremely interesting. With his limited exposure to other guardian cats (which was to say none), he was desperately curious to learn more about her. Especially since she seemed so… tainted. Moving a little closer to her, he lay down in what he hoped was a relaxed posture. "It sounds to me as though you found your treasure fair and square," he said with a kitty smile, squeezing his eyes closed slightly as he spoke. "I wouldn't think of asking you to give it back. Tell me, how long have you been a guardian cat?"

Lace still was wary but she relaxed slightly and watched him from the poofy collar.
"Ye..Yes!" She played with it a little and then nodded, "Th...Thank you!" She ahemed a little. "Not...Not long at all!" Her ears laid back and she looked around.
"Negaverse General Queen Laurelite woke us up. We were suppose to find...things? Senshi, and she found us and um..." She closed her eyes, "Did something to us! Co...Corrupted? So know...We are guardian cats for the negaverse?"
She stopped.
"You don't feel like a negaverse...."

That was when it dawned on Pyewacket where he'd felt something like Lace before. That black kitten in the bookshop the other day with the Chaos aura! Come to think of it, the ruff around her neck was very similar to the one that little demon had worn -- for that matter, they looked very similar, with the same silky black coat and large orange-amber eyes. Were they related? "I'm not a corrupted Mauvian," he confirmed. "I'm an Order guardian cat. You would have been like me too, had the General Queen not corrupted you." He didn't make a move toward her, which hopefully reassured her that he wasn't going to attack because they were on opposite sides of the war. The blue-grey cat cleared his throat. "Would you happen to have a brother?"

Lace froze and then stuttered a bit.
"I...I have a...T...Twin....." she looked painfully at the ground. "S...sorry."
