The holiday had been a lovely one. In fact, it had been so nice that much of Chailee's anxieties had been washed away in a flood of good feelings and confidence. It really was amazing what family, laughter, and good times could do for ones self esteem and motivation. With the lack of anxiety and uncertainty, Chailee opted to go out on patrol for the first time in a long while. Sneaking out of the house was routine as usual. A few blocks over, in a quiet secluded alley way, she powered up before heading off to patrol an area that was closer to the library. It was an area she had frequented before, but also made her feel somewhat safe knowing that a certain Royal Knight was probably in his usual station at the library itself. As she hopped from building to building, Harmonia's anxiety slowly began to return some. She wasn't going to turn back and head home, but she wasn't feeling quite as confident as she had when she set out. Maybe that was all for the good? She'd stay on her toes this way. Hopefully it would be a quiet night and she'd return home in the morning weary but content with her patrol. Stopping on top of an apartment building, Chay hopped down from the rooftop to the ground level between the apartment and a convenience store that was closed for the night. She yawned, covering her mouth with the back of her hand. Maybe it wouldn't be too long of a night for her, after all. As a whole, everything, so far, was seeming quiet.

Hadaya loved food, and this holiday season had been full of it. So many left overs and things everyone was happy to share with him! It was the season of giving, and even a round little cat got his fair share of the delights. He was still wearing his little strap on santa hat, because he did not want the holiday to end just yet.
If only it could be like this all the time. Big meals, big family get togethers, and lots of happiness. What was wrong with that? Why NOT do that more often?
Tonight he had come to the library with Tony, but got bored as the man actually had to do work there, and Hadaya was not much for logging and shelving books. He had wandered off on his own, taking to the cold streets outside to find something to occupy his time before Tony powered up and went on patrol.
He felt the aura of a senshi nearby, not sure who it was but at least knowing it was white moon. Smiling brightly, he padded his way toward the feeling, stubby legs working hard to close the distance. He looked up in dismay when he realized he had found the end of the trail, so to speak, but was far below his target.
Climbing was definitely not his favorite thing.
"Hello!? Is anyone up there?" he called in his tiny voice, accented by a whine of a meow.

Hearing a voice from below, Harmonia glanced down into the darkness. The street lamps light reached just far enough into the alley way that she'd be able to see at least the silhouette of someone but nothing caught her attention and she didn't feel anyone either. Interesting. She knew she heard a voice calling out. She paused for a moment. Had she heard a cat with that voice? Harmonia decided to take a look. Hopping down from the rooftop, using a fire escape and a ledge to make the descent easier, she looked around her. Squinting in the faintly orange lit alleyway. She wasn't about to call out. She was a bit to anxious to do that. But as she wandered down the alleyway towards the entrance her eyes spied a chubby looking form of a cat. It was nothing more than a silhouette at that point. She crouched down, trying to get a better look but the light was not being friendly. "Were you the one calling to me?" She questioned as she held out a hand to offer scratches to the feline.

"Yes, that was me!"
Hadaya's voice was immediately lit up with his happy, coo-like purrs. He threw his whole body into her touch, rubbing her hand for all it was worth as she pet him. He did love any show of affection, and returned them with gusto if only because he was a cuddle monster.
It was easy for him to make friends that way, really. He had no reason not to like random strangers, so he saw no harm in treating them like immediate friends! After all, they were senshi, and he was a guardian cat. It was his JOB to care about them.
He rumbled happily at her, sitting on his bottom and looking up at her with wide, round eyes. Everything about him was round, of course, so his chubby face matched his wide eyed look, and his tubby tummy matched his chubby face.
"My name is Hadaya! I knew there was a senshi around here, I just didn't know how I was going to get up to you! I'm glad you heard me!"

A Large smile spread across the young senshi's face as the feline promptly threw himself into her hand for some love and affection. A small giggle escaped her at the chubby guardians antics. "I am Harmonia." She let herself drop completely down into a crossed leg sit. "I thought I had maybe be hearing things when I didn't notice someone down here right away." She reached forward again the scratch under his chin, completely unable to restrain herself. Guardian or not, Harmonia was very prone to showering any sort of animal with as much affection as she could. "You look adorable with that hat on by the way. Did you come from a party?" It wouldn't be all that odd for people to still be celebrating the holiday. She opened her arms to let the Mauvian crawl into her lap if he so wished so he wouldn't have to sit on the cold ground. Plus it would give her an excuse to cuddle with him. As much as she loved her horse, Willow, she couldn't exactly cuddle with a horse. "Won't your family miss you?" She only assumed he had someone whom he lived with considering that it took a being with opposable thumbs to tie that adorable hat onto him.

"Harmonia! What a pretty name!" He purred. Some of the stars out there had some... weird names, and he was glad hers was so easy to say and remember, and was on the pretty side of things. He was just waiting to run into someone what said their star was called Butt or something, and he would have to pretend that was not hilarious.
It was not befitting a guardian cat to laugh at a senshi because of their name, he was pretty sure.
"Oh, no, this is just my Christmas hat! My family gave it to me, and I really like this holiday time. Lots of food and cuddles. I think the hat helps!" It was clearly some sort of magical hat, that made people want to pet him and give him leftovers. At her invitation he planted himself in her lap, despite being a bit of a heavy weight. He pressed against her chest, rumbling away happily as he leeched off her warmth.
"Well, I thought I would go out and patrol a bit, just in case. My family are all senshi and knights, except the baby and the dogs, so they understand! And I like to meet up with new senshi and spend time with them." And steal cuddles and potentially food, of course.

"Thanks!" She smiled at the chubby feline. As Hadaya curled up in her lap, Harmonia wrapped an arm around him while her other hand continued to shower the cat with scratches under his chin and on his chest. She enjoyed the sensation of his fur between her fingers. Plus, having him sit on her lap meant everywhere he touched was slowly beginning to warm up. "Yea, the holidays are always a nice time of year. Everyone is in a happier mood and just over all more pleasant to be around. Plus, being with family is great. I just wish that this war or ours could take a break for the holidays." She gave him one good scritch under his chin before moving her hand to the top of his head to gentle stroke an ear. "It sounds like you have quite the family though. Knights and senshi?" She tilted her head slightly. "Can you tell me who?" Not that she expected to know who Hadaya's family was since there were so many Knights and senshi she had yet to meet.

Hadaya would be hard pressed to be happier, considering he was just a ball of love anyway. Maybe during the times when he was feeling uncomfortable and awkward, it would serve him a bit better to be happier. But when he was with people he cared about, with senshi and others who could understand him, he was perfectly happy!
It all worked out in the end.
"Of course! You're a senshi, so that means you're trustworthy!"
Simple cat logic.
"I am bonded to Sailor Navi, who is living with Sailor Chaonis and his family, Royal Knight Camelot and Knight Shalott! There sure are a lot of us in one household, but everyone is happy! I think Chaonis is trying to get us to move, though, I heard him talking to Camelot once about a house! I don't know if I want to move out, but as long as I'm with Navi, I'm happy."

"Chaonis and Camelot?" She giggled softly. "It figures I'd run into a guardian cat who lives with those two. Camelot never mentioned you though, well...then again I never asked." She shrugged gently before scratching under Hadaya's chin. "Navi...I know that name..." Harmonia couldn't quite remember why she knew the name. For the most part she brushed it off as someone she had heard about in passing probably from Camelot or Chaonis. "I bet living with so many people is fun though! I bet things are never boring." A soft sigh escaped her as she shifted herself a bit as an aggravating pebble had managed to make itself known a little painfully. She flicked the offending stone away before resettling. Harmonia wasn't about to let go of Hadaya just yet. Well, not unless he wanted to remove himself from her lap. His presence was soothing to her frayed nerves. "I am glad I ran into you, Hadaya." She smiled fondly at the cat. "Life has been a bit...well...I don't know. I guess overwhelming would work to describe how I've felt lately." As she talked she unconciously ran her fingers through the feline's fur. "Chatting with you though is nice."

"well, I'm pretty new to the household, when you think about it! Only been there a little while, but it's really nice and I feel like I've known them forever!"
Hadaya was a very social creature, obviously, and thrived on as much attention as he could possibly get. So living in a full house, with some many different sources of love, delighted him. He felt like he could not be happier, though he knew that things would change once the two senshi moved out and he went with them.
But it wouldn't be bad, really. Just different!
He had no intention of leaving her lap until she kicked him out, as was his theory in life. Stay until he was no longer wanted, as he could not imagine anything better for him to do at the time. He was purring away, rumbling happily and rubbing against her affectionately.
"Overwhelming? That doesn't sound fun. What's wrong? Are you okay? Is there anything I can do to help?" Because there were clearly a lot of things a small, fat cat with stumpy legs and no tail could do to fix problems.

Hadaya's ever optimistic and happy-go-lucky attitude was rubbing off on Harmonia a bit. Causing the usual sad smile that was gracing her features recently to be a bit more...open and hopeful. Maybe she needed to surround herself with more positivity. Though how she was suppose to do that was beyond her at the moment. Life...well senshi life, was doing a good job of making her feel beat down. "I..." She paused to try and collect her thoughts as she looked down the alley way, her fingers never stopping their movement in the feline's fur. "I don't think I realized what being part of a war really meant when I first started being a senshi." Her voice was soft as she spoke, almost a whisper. "I didn't know that people were getting hurt, that some were being forced into a life they never wanted, or that the other side had their own strong reasons to fight." She turned her focus back down to Hadaya, the sadness in her eyes returning. "I thought this was all like my fantasy books. That there was a strict good and evil and that I was chosen to fight for the good. But...now I don't know what to think anymore or where I even belong in this war." Bending forward she buried her face in Hadaya's fur. "I am afraid."

Hadaya watched his new friend with as close to a frown as he was able to make, for a cat. He was also just not really built for frowning, and nuzzled against her affectionately in an effort to cheer her. He was almost always using his cuddles for one purpose or another, and one might think he was a bit of a cuddle slut, but he would swear up and down it was for the greater good.
And not just because he really liked cuddles.
"It can be like the fantasy books! I know that it's not always happy and it can be really difficult, but you still have magic powers! You have a really big pool of potential friends and partners, and hundreds of other people out there, doing the same thing you are! That means you can find friends, and help, and you never, ever have to be alone when bad things happen."
He purred softly, nuzzling her chin with his head as she held him close, using his little paws to give her a cat hug.
"I'm always afraid, too, but you can be afraid and still be strong. It's not easy, but you care, and you're honest, and I know you're a good senshi. And I'll be here to help you now, whenever you need someone to talk to, okay? Oh, please don't be sad! It's going to be okay. It really, really is."

Harmonia hugged Hadaya close to her as he did his best to lavish her with cuddles and love. A few stray tears found their way into his coat as she buried her face in his abundant fur. Blue curls veiled her face and the chubby cats body. The cats purrs rumbled through his body as his words helped sooth the young teenager. With a sniffle Harmonia pulled her face away from him. "Thanks, Hadaya." With another sniffle she pushed her hair back and away from her face before rubbing her eyes in an attempt to fix herself. With a small sad smile she looked back down at Hadaya. "I think I've just been shocked recently. I have a few friends I can go to but, not many." She sighed. "I think I am just stressed and over thinking everything." Carefully she unfolded her legs from under her but kept her arms wrapped around the mauvian as she climbed to her feet. She looked at the Guardian, noting his concern for her. "I am sure I'll get over it eventually." And, cue her attempts at trying to remedy the situation. Harmonia never much liked seeing others hurting in anyway. If she could ease the situation by masking her own emotions or putting herself second in need than she was fine doing that. "I am really glad I met you today Hadaya. You've helped." She emphasis her gratitude she gave the cat a scratch under his chin. Even if she was hiding some of her emotions again, he mauvian had at least helped her release some of the pressure building up.

Hadaya watched her, not believing for a moment that she was feeling as good as she said. He thought that she was hiding from him, but at least she had gotten a little of the sadness out. As much as he hated making anyone sad, he knew that it was important to vent a little bit.
"I hope I helped and didn't make it all worse," he said, though he closed his eyes and purred as she scratched his chin. He smiled, unable to resist the power of a good scratch.
He was very weak to cuddles. It was why he used them as his own weapon, so to speak, as he knew all too well how powerful they could be. At least, that was what he hoped, in his little furry head.
"Please feel better, okay?"
Because all she needed was for someone to tell her to do it, and then things would be fine, right? Right!

Harmonia smiled down at the chubby cat. "No. You definitely helped." She knelt down and gave him another good scratch on his head, trailing to his ear before pulling her hand back and standing back up. "I will. It'll just take some time, but everything will turn out alright." She looked up at the sky. "That's what I am going to try and believe anyway." There it was. Her optimism was trying to worm its way back out from the gloom she she buried herself under. Looking back at Hadaya she gave the cat a wave. "Take care! Tell your family I said hello." She winked before heading back up to the rooftop to continue her patrol. She may not be feeling like her old self, but there was a lightening in her heart after meeting the Guardian cat.
