Hobbies:
Reading - Matt will happily read almost anything, novels from romance, to mystery, to comedies, textbooks, even graphic novels if there is nothing. At the moment, however, he tends to stick mostly to any sort of medical literature due to lack of free time to read frivolously, using it at the same time as a channel through which to further his own knowledge and practice.

Surfing - Despite his looks, Matt has been surfing since he was a kid. A hobby he picked up in school in the company of friends whom he enjoyed hanging out with. He sees the beach as a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the hospital and people whom he knows. To him, it is a place for him to spend some me time and not think about anything in particular while relaxing to the sound of the waves.

Virtues:

Knowledgeable: Knowledge is power and Matt is more than happy to learn anything, preferably in the skills of medical realm and if those are willing to listen teach in return. He believes that the process of learning is a lifelong one that doesn’t just stop after one has left the school. He will, when he can, attend occasional classes, talks, seminars, workshops, conferences and makes sure to read widely from medical books and journals in his relentless pursuit of knowledge. It is a good thing that he can remember most things and recall information when need be, not that he doesn’t forget smaller details, but he does fairly well at remembering the things that he had come across compared to most people.

Diligent: It is easy for him to lose himself in his job, Matt is a bit obsessive when it comes to completing tasks and objectives, striving constantly to attain the point of perfection that he expects of himself. Even if it is at the cost of his own sleep and health, he won’t let anything hinder what he needs to do and is rather diligent towards the cause that he works for.

Flaws:
Liar: Despite Matt seemingly being a rather caring, friendly guy at first meeting he will lie about most things especially when they are not related to science or medical field. He will lie about his emotions, his feelings, about personal information, he will easily lie about other people, places, things going on, anything that he feels has no particular importance to someone or if he feels the need that said person doesn’t need to know. He isn’t likely to lie about facts related or pertaining to his job at the hospital (ie important facts about various bacteria, diagnosis, etc,) but anything outside of that realm is free game. He will always smile, or at least always default to smiling no matter what the situation. He could be dying, blood pouring out of chest and he will likely put on some dumb smile and tell you it’s ok, and yes he is lying even when it's obvious.

Manipulative: If there is any way he can manipulate a situation and turn it into one that will be advantageous to him, he will do so without a second thought, failing which he will completely lose interest in and drop it if there was no other way about it. He does not feel any guilt at all in using people to his advantage or turning their situations into something he can use to create some sort of mischief or even to use it against someone else. He doesn’t care at all about the feelings of other people or what the consequences will be for them in the end as long as he gets some sort of benefit from it.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Bright blue, sort of fake happy

Hair: Black, undershaved on one side with a loose braid going down one side, long almost half way down his chest.

Face: Older, strong slightly angled jaw, slightly thinner lips with a fake smile.

Clothes: Medical jacket, three piece suit underneath, black or dark grey with light purple shirt, dark purple tie, dark grey or purple vest. Dress shoes and stethoscope.
