It had been a week since she sprained her ankle in her attempt to do a flip, and although the sprain had healed nicely it seemed that Niadra hadn't learned anything. No matter how much her mentor tried to convince her that a flip just wasn't necessary for the dance to be wonderful she insisted in doing one. Although for the week she was healing she wasn't able to pratice dancing or do almost anything without endangering her ankle further, she did watch the other dancers. She paid special attention to those that were known to add flips and other extravagant things into their performances.
"Take it slow Niadra, if you go too fast you will just endanger yourself again." Her mentor said as Niadra unwrapped the bandages that were around her sprained ankle. She stood, putting some weight on it. It seemed to hold and the pain wasn't all that bad. Sure it was there, but it was nothing like it had been before.
Niadra started to dance, practicing the things that she had made up the week before. She wasn't so brave as to try the flip again, she would need a ton of more practice until she tried that, but she did want to make sure she remembered all of the steps that she had created. If they didn't flow together like the had before she would have to some how change the dance.
The further she got into the dance the more she could see it on her mentors face, it wasn't good. It wasn't what it was before. She stopped dancing, the pain hitting her at once as soon as she stopped.
"Maybe you should take it slow Niadra, your ankle may be healed but it hasn't danced in a week. You have to let it remember."
Niadra healed. This sucked, but her mentor was right and there was nothing she could do about it.
