With the recently discovered Yaeli, the land of Tendaji has been abuzz with talk and gossip about their new neighbors. They're odd, they're strange and skittish, their eyes glow - but that can't possibly be true most say - the word on the street is that they're starting to leave their island. Those that had met the Yaeli know that it's an odd thing to hear. They were terrified of the outsiders, why would they leave their safe villages...

Rumors are filling the toxic island where the Alkidikes extremists were banished along with the Matron. Rumors of monsters clawing their way out of the earth with oil black skin and glowing evil eyes that are even weirder than the strange monsters that landed upon their shores just one year ago. The Yaeli say that their gaze can steal the soul of any person dumb enough to get too close and they're vicious beings trying to take their children.

These rumors have reached the main land as well, mostly through the few Yaeli that have decided they would rather face the scary but similar earthling races than to have to find out what the terrifying monsters want with them and their land.

Is there any truth to these rumors or are the Yaelians seeing things?

Niadra would be lying if she said that she wasn't scared of the rumors. After what happened when they met Obans it was only normally that she should be scared of another new race. Even if from she heard they were skittish and scared of outsiders she still didn't trust them. For all she knew that could be a trick, they could be just playing helpless until people underestimated them and then they would attack! She was sure she would be safe, she had Nyiim after all, but she did worry for the other people who really believed that this new race was harmless.

The marketplaces she visited was where she heard the most about these new people, she was pretty sure they were called Yaelians but could never remember, and today talk of them was more prevalent then normal. She wanted to know more, but most of the groups talking seemed to be deep into their conversations already and she didn't want to butt in. Finally she noticed a group of three women who seemed like they had just started talking about strange creatures. This was something she hadn't heard before so Niadra rushed over to find out what they were saying, tapping her hip twice to make sure that Jania knew to stay close.

"They say it's very long, with eyes blacker then black and white sharp teeth."

"I heard it isn't long, that it has a round stout body with an enlarged head and maul."

"No you're both wrong. It isn't very big, no bigger then a sailscale, but it has black skin and glowing eyes. It does have very sharp teeth though, and travels in groups ready to kill anything that it sees."

"Oh yeah? From what I understand they come from the earth, which means they can tunnel under the ocean and come over here."

Niadra shook her head, finally speaking up when the conversation lulled. "Excuse me, where did you all hear this? I haven't heard anything about a dangerous creature. Are we really in danger of it coming over here?" She wanted to make sure she had all of her facts straight before she found Nyiim and told him what she heard.

The women all nodded, this seemed to be something they all agreed on. "A traveling troupe that held some of the guards that traveled to the island passed through just yesterday. They told us all about it, and from what they said this creature is a threat to not just those on the island but to us as well," The older of the three woman said.

Niadra nodded and thanked them for their information before breaking away from the group. She wanted to go home and tell Nyiim at once what she had heard, but there were a few things she still needed to get from the marketplace and she didn't want to go home without the things she had come for.

As she went from stall to stall, getting things for their home as well as the studio that her and Nyiim were working on, she heard more and more about these creatures as well as the Yaelians. Some people seemed to chalk it all up to rumors, while others swore they knew people who had actually seen the creatures themselves. It was all very confusing and Niadra wasn't sure what to believe. However she made sure to listen when she could, hopefully if she told Nyiim all that she heard he would be able to make more sense of everything.

After what seemed like forever Niadra had all the things that she needed and headed home. "Come on Jaina, we have to tell Nyiim what we've heard. Maybe he has better information, or maybe he'll tell me that it's all silly talk and that I have nothing to be worried about. Either way I know I'll feel much safer when we're back home with him." She called to her raptrix. Jainia barked and they were on their way, Niadra not being able to think of anything other then what she had heard that day.

"No no, they can't travel under the sea! That's impossible! No creature can tunnel under the sea, the only way they would be able to get over here is by hiding away on a boat or if they could some how swim."

"I'm just telling you what I heard. It's best to take stock in these words, even if they aren't true wouldn't you rather be prepared then not?"
