This thread is for staff only to run brief, random events that don't require a full booth. These events will be time sensitive, and will last from a minimum of 1 hour to a maximum of 24 hours. Please be sure to check for the most recent game before you post! Don't assume that the first one you see is the newest one -- check to see what other people are doing, and that what you do aligns with their actions!

There is something shifty about 'Cause's little booth: probably the fact that it looks like it was thrown together in about 10 minutes, that it's temporary and easy to take a part. Or maybe it's the grin that lights up his face as he calls out to passing kin, trying to gather up a sizable crowd -- something a little bit wicked about his expression. "Try your luck? Want to play a game? Risk and reward, risk and reward!" He gestures, vaguely, to a single token that sits in front of him. "Throw one token into the pile for a chance at winning all the tokens." Someone to one side throws out a sarcastic comment, "Yeah, except the percentage you keep!" and 'Cause looks offended. "Hardly. I will keep not a single one. Winner takes all." And then smug, he sits back and widens his eyes. "Do you dare?" ________ This is a very simple one hour game. For the next hour, anyone who's interested in playing can remove one token from their collection with a subtraction in their Token Tracking post, and use the code below to enter into this short contest. When you post, please roll 1d100. At the end of the hour, the person who has the highest roll will get all the entered tokens. In the case of a tie, winnings will be split between the winners. Use the code below, making sure to roll 1d100 when you post, and writing a very short RP [at least 50 words] of your kin throwing a token into the pile: KINNAMEHERE IS TAKING A CHANCE!

I'll Never Tell IS TAKING A CHANCE! Token Tracking Post: the token tracking thread. Oh the the lure of a game of chance! I'll Never Tell eyed up the bucks shabby booth and 'pile' of tokens. Well, it was only one token after all. Not a lot of risk there and the reward if any of the others could be convinced as well could be grand. Worst case scenario she loses one token or gains two as far as she sees it. "I'll bite." The feathered acha adds her token to the small pile with a wink.

The Devil You Don't IS TAKING A CHANCE! No one ever said that Draw was very good at recognizing a sketchy situation. He was just the kind to willingly throw a token in for the hell of it. There could be a prize, there couldn't! So here was this little buck, hucking a coloured rock in to a small pile, hoping for whatever should be happening, to happen. Token Tracking Post: Ayyy.

CAN YOU IS TAKING A CHANCE! Token Tracking Post: cornpostOn one of her rare breaks, Can You wandered the aisles, nosily checking on the other booths. Hers seemed to be one of the busiest so far - which she was very proud of.
She heard a familiar sort of prattle in the next aisle over - someone had set up a hustle. Intrigued, she cut across someone's game space to nose it out. Another acha, predictably, had a hasty setup - which would also be a hasty breakdown, she knew, for a hasty getaway. Listening to his spiel, though, sort of reassured her - there wasn't any hustle after all, just a little redistribution of wealth.
Never one to turn down a game of chance, Can You added a token to the kitty. "Count me in, mister man," she said cockily.

NEVER SLEEPS IS TAKING A CHANCE! Token Tracking Post: link to your post in the token tracking thread. The buck slithered out of his dark empty cave and followed the crowd into a tiny opening. He had a token and would wish to double or even triple his amount. Deep down, his gut is waning him not to do it, but his impulsiveness drove him to act without thinking. He took out a token and plunked it into the small growing pile of loot.

JACKAL LAUGH IS TAKING A CHANCE! Token Tracking Post: link to your post in the token tracking thread. The acha was lost, but always game. "Yes, oh yes." He walked up, perused, paused and pontificated on everything from the meaning of a leaf curl, to which angle a hawk's talons strike when catching prey, to how the air smells right before lightning or thunder strikes. Finally, he completed the task.

He walked up, perused, paused and pontificated on everything from the meaning of a leaf curl, to which angle a hawk's talons strike when catching prey, to how the air smells right before lightning or thunder strikes. Finally, he completed the task. It was deliberate -- his eyes on the nay-sayer in the crowd, narrowed to slits -- the way 'Cause put his hoof against the pile of 6 tokens and slowly pushed it in front of Jackal Laugh. "There. These are yours." And his expression lit up, mouth spread in a grin. "See? I gave them all away." ___ Congrats! Claim 6 tokens [one for each player and one from 'Cause] in the token claim thread!

---- NEW EVENT STARTS HERE ---- 'Cause is at it again; somewhere, he has gotten a gigantic rock and behind it a pile of tokens: it looks like about 21 all said and told. He stands behind it with a wild-eyed grin on his face, barking for kin to come in for a little test of endurance -- "It's simple, really," he explains to one young filly who stands beside him with her mouth hanging open. "You just have to keep one hoof on the rock to come out a big winner. No buy in this time -- I've taken care of that --" A shifty look, with this. It's possible 'Cause didn't acquire all these tokens legally -- "Just put your hoof on the rock and stay there, and try not to let anyone else jostle you free. Last kin standing wins that big prize -- with some smaller runner up prizes, of course..." _____ ANOTHER RANDOM EVENT?! This time it's a Russian Roulette. 24 hours from the time of this post [so around 6pm EST on Dec 22] I'll be rolling to eliminate each participating kin one by one as they're knocked out. The final five to be removed will get tokens: 1st Place: 10 tokens! 2nd Place: 5 tokens! 3rd place: 3 tokens! 4th Place: 2 tokens! 5th place: 1 token! Everyone else will, sadly, get nothing. Entry is simple, though: simply reply to this post with the below form and a short RP of your kin putting one foot on the stone 'Cause has brought out. Once you've posted the form, you're welcome to do some short silly RP in this thread leading up to the drawing. Just don't post the form again! THE FORM: KINNAMEHERE HAS ONE FOOT ON THE STONE

WILD GREEN STONES HAS ONE FOOT ON THE STONE
RP Post: Wild Green Stones sauntered up to the rock with a grin. "Hello there," he told the acha. "Where's the stone again?" Ah, yes, there - he could see it. Kind of. Well, it was very big, so he could definitely see it. He stuck his hoof right up against the stone, and pushed his body in as close as it could get. He couldn't put two hooves here, right? What if Cause didn't see?
...well. He was the only one here, at the moment. He'd wait for other kin to start showing up before attempting anything sketchy.

Blood on the Sand HAS ONE FOOT ON THE STONE
RP Post: Blood eyed the acha, taking in the wild grin and spiel and then the stone. He flicked his tail, eyeing the gigantic rock, it looked like it could hold a great deal of kin and well, acquired legally or not, it sound like a game that Blood would enjoy.
He wandered over, looked over the rock and placed a hoof on the rock. Let someone just try to push him over.

STREAMS OF SILVER HAS ONE FOOT ON THE STONE
RP Post: Streams of Silver was one for a challenge– and what better way to prove her competence against larger does and bucks than by trying to muscle her way in and stay against it? She got herself close, nosing in next to another kin who'd placed himself alongside.
"We're going to be a little outmatched, if it comes to brute strength. So tell you what: I won't shove you if you don't shove me," she promised.

Breath of Death HAS ONE FOOT ON THE STONE RP Post: Breath walks up and sticks one foot on the stone, still a little confused from his earlier encounter with the mushrooms. He struggles to stand as still as he can, and firmly plants a hoof on the rock, feeling it beneath his feet so as to concentrate enough on that alone to maybe hold his grip. "Okeedoke," he affirmed, "I can do this..." Though it sounded a little more like trying to convince himself he could rather than a go-to attitude.

"You talking to me?" Wild Green Stones grinned. He pretended to consider it for a moment, and then gave a one-shouldered shrug. "Deal." Well, they had a deal until it was just the two of them left, anyway. And it wasn't like he was committing to helping this doe if someone else shoved her off.
