A large grin spread across her face as she stood some feet away from Ariya. "I won't go easy on you, sister." Being able to go against one of her own was exciting. It meant that she could match her skill level with someone that had similar training as her. Not to mention the height and strength to match. Dem spun her blades in her hands and rolled her shoulders, loosening up the muscles in her joints. This was going to be fun.

Gripping her spear tightly she smiled at V'demhe. "Wouldn't dream of it." She knew that going against a sister would be challenging but she was taking Rishima's advice to heart. Practice with her weapon would get her more and more used to it. So, here she was, ready to face someone that would give her a run for her money.

Once she knew that Ariya was ready to spar she moved in for the attack. There was no way she was going to give her warning or anything like that. Dem wanted this to be a test of skills. Her blades against Ariya's spear. "Let's see what you got, young one!" While V'demhe knew that the sister she faced wasn't much younger than her she still called her such. It was more to rattle the girl so that she'd mess up her concentration. "Hargh!" She made a grunt as she moved.

The taunt made her lift a brow at V'demhe a bit oddly. She wasn't that much younger than her opponent. Still she readied herself for the attack and when it came she tried to move out of the way. Thankfully she was fast enough to avoid the blade and she even tapped it away with the blunt end of her spear. Ariya chuckled and brought the spear head down in a retaliation to the swipe that had been taken at her. "Who are you calling young!?"

When she felt that her blade was brush aside she smirked at Ariya. Dem had been right in thinking that this was going to be fun. So far she hadn't been disappointed. However, now she needed to be quick and move out of the way of the spear that was coming down on her. V'demhe managed a perfect escape and gave a wink to Ariya before she moved her arm up to slash at her mid section as a small comeback from missing earlier. "Don't get too cocky just because you dodged my first move." Of course she should really follow her own advice.

Damn! She missed! Ariya had to admit she was a little disappointed by that fact but when she saw how V'demhe was moving she decided to move back so that she wouldn't suffer a stomach wound. Sadly she wasn't fast enough! She felt the sting of metal against her flesh and gave a hiss at the pain. "Grah! Damn you, V'demhe!" She stepped back with one hand covering the bleeding wound.

Giving herself no real time to feel the pain of the attack she just suffered she moved her spear so that she could take a quick jab at Dem. If anything Ariya wanted some space away from those blades of hers. Of course she had hope that she could inflict even a scratch on her opponent. "I'll get you back for that." She stated with all seriousness.

She was pleased as punch when she saw that her small attack had landed a hit. There was even some blood on her sword. The cursing that came from Ariya had V'demhe raising her brows. "Such language!" She mocked with a laugh. Right as her sister Alkidike went to make a jab at her Dem tried to shove the pointed end of the spear away from her with one of her blades. The blow was a glancing one and barely diverted the spear so the tip did manage to puncture her skin on her side. "Ow. That tickles." She gave a sarcastic look to Ariya.

Now that the proverbial bear had been poked she made a move to close the distance between them and strike out. V'demhe decided it was time to step up her game. Or at the very least stop toying around. So she planted her foot and brought both blades up at the same time looking to strike the younger Alkidike across the thigh.

While she was pleased to have at least landed some kind of blow on her opponent she wasn't too thrilled to see that Dem was coming at her with both blades this time. Doing her best to react quicker than V'demhe could strike she jumped back to take her thighs out of range of the swords. Sadly it seemed that the other was much faster than she. So when the dual blades slid across her skin she gave a cry of pain and limped backward, putting some weight against her spear to keep her up. "Vicious little.. beetle!" Ariya called to V'demhe.

Deciding that a counter was pointless since Dem was good at moving out of the way most of the time, Ariya went for a trip. If she could knock the Alkidike off her feet then she could take her by surprise! Now if she could just be quicker than Dem this once she might be able to gain the advantage!

Ha! She had hit her mark! A smug look took shape on her face and Dem looked as though she might even start to dance. That was until she heard Ariya call her a beetle. "Hey!" Now that was an insult she didn't like. She was much better than a beetle. While she was distracted with that she barely noticed that her sister was trying to trip her. So V'demhe had to make a fast decision in trying to hop over the attempt. Sadly her feet got tangled and she went crashing down! "Oof.."

Haha! She'd managed to bring V'demhe down! Ariya wasted not time in attacking after she saw the girl fall. Even as she dripped blood down her stomach and thigh she flipped her weapon around so that she could jam the blunt end into Dem's stomach, hopefully knocking the wind out of her opponent. "Take that!"

What was going on here? Now all of a sudden she was on the defensive! When Ariya went to bring down the stubbed end of her weapon Dem decided she would roll to the side. Maybe even get back onto her feet if she could avoid the blow. Nope! The hit landed right on her gut and forced the air out of her lungs. V'demhe was even sure she felt a retch or two as her stomach heaved. Blessed trees this was not at all how she saw this spar going.
