Well, Christmas Eve is my family's annual party. We normally take turns hosting. it was supposed to be our turn, but cooking two days in a row is not my, nor my mom's, idea of fun, and my brother and dad never help out with getting ready for these get-togethers.(My dad was actually trying to insist we host it; my mom told him if we're going to host, he'd have to help out by, at the very least, getting his hunting s**t off the basement floor. That was the end of that discussion) It involves Secret Santa, food, and Christmas movies. Also relatives I don't know that well trying to strike up conversations with me, and I feel awkward as I shuffle away to watch the aforementioned movies.
Christmas day is presents and family time, and Christmas dinner at our house. It's much smaller, but my mom still has to make it a big deal. That part of the family is unfortunately very fond of political discussion at the dinner table. So I'll be stuffing my face with food trying to ignore their often quite atrocious opinions. Then we eat dessert while watching a movie.
