With the weather cooling recently, the temperatures dropping, the trees having turned colors if they would change, an all over relaxed feel had dropped on the village. Siofra had been a bit restless of late, having watched her sister grow up and find someone she thought was cute, or at the very least, could be great friends with. Siofra had only encountered one pae outside of the village she called home, and she was missing him. Somehow she'd gotten lucky enough to meet someone that looked just the same way she did. Hooves and wings, and fur and super awesome hair. She blushed a little thinking about it.
It wouldn't be long before it got too cold for them to travel between villages with any frequency, and it would be even less time before her parents told her she should stay in. They were always worried about her, being so much smaller than anyone else. It was like she'd never really hit a growth spurt or anything. Ever. Siofra huffed, deciding to go to the kitchen and ransack it for supplies and easily carried goods. It was time for a trip. She needed to see the only other pae that looked like her. Maybe she'd figure out where he lived or would run into him. But whatever she did, she knew she'd need to pack light enough she could make it to the nearest village and then hope she'd be able to find her way from there. Maybe someone in the next one over had seen another pae like her before? Maybe they even knew about Elias?
A few hours later, Siofra had collected a small satchel full of stuff and was ready to head out. She knew she was forgetting something, something huge. Her heart tweaked a little at the thought of forgetting things. That was it, she'd forgotten to leave a note for Soliel. the smol teen didn't want her other half to worry about her. It was with a grin that she scribbled a note, writing to tell Soliel that she'd be out for a while. Maybe if she was lucky, no one would see her leave? Siofra could only hope.
Swinging the pack over her shoulder, Siofra struck out. She was off to go look for Elias, or really any other pae that might want to be her friend.

Elias often thought about Siofra as he hung out within his home in the tree, Laisidhiel. It was not very often that he got out of the tree anymore, the curfew just made it too difficult, and he didn't like wandering around inside the tree due to being so different. His heart was always wandering back to that clearing and the intense feeling that had overcome him when he was there with Siofra. He didn't realize it was the tree calling him home, no, there was something special between him and Siofra, he was sure she had felt it too.
When he did leave Laisidhiel he would often return to the spot where he had first run into that girl who looked just like him. All he had to tell Daring Do was that he was going off adventuring, she understood probably better than most mothers that need to get out and explore for a few days.
It had been one of those days again, Elias was tired of being cooped up so he left the tree with a bundle of supplies to get him through the journey, setting out for that special spot. His feet had the path memorized since it was really the only place he went to, but beyond that, he could feel his heart tugging him to that spot.
Siofra had made a rough trek for someone so small. Okay, not really a rough trek, but it had been long enough she just wanted to stop and relax for a while. The pale teen was leaning against a tree when she heard footsteps a bit ahead of her. With a groan that sounded more like a sigh, she pushed off and started towards the noise. Her pack was constantly growing lighter as she traveled, mostly using what supplies she'd carried with her. Thank goodness her mother had taught her how to pick out the poisonous berries from the yummy ones.
"Hello?" Siofra called, looking around for the source of the footsteps. It was about then she realized they sounded more like hoofsteps rather than feet. She let out an excited squeak, hoping she'd found Elias. Jade eyes widened, looking around for a familiar burst of brilliant yellow and orange. "Eliaaaassss?" She'd cupped her hands around her mouth to amplify her voice. Maybe, just maaaaybe it really was him she was hearing out there. "Elias is that you?"

Elias paused, his journey had been mostly quiet so far, but now he could have sworn he heard something. Curious, the boy fluttered in the direction of the sound. It turned out to only be the wind howling through a hallow log. What had he expected it to be.
He stopped there, sitting on the log and breaking out some food from his pack. Thankfully Daring Do had taught him how to pack for an adventure. As he ate he could have sworn he heard his name being called, but that was crazy, it sounded so distant anyways it was clearly his mind trying to fill the quiet. Elias shook his head, before taking a bite of his vegetable sandwich.
Siofra searched, searched and searched. Whatever hoofsteps that she'd heard were either gone or not him. She sighed, sitting down for a moment in her defeat. That's what she got for going out to blindly search for somepae. It was about then she heard something moving again. With a squeak, the teen jumped up and turned to face the direction of the noise.
She was face to snout with some sort of fuzzy alpaca beast with extra legs and weird looking fur. Jade eyes shot open wide as she realized she'd just disturbed something she clearly shouldn't have disturbed. This creepy thing was angry! It let out a whinny any horse would be proud of and clawed at the ground, about to charge. Siofra bit back a scream and started to back up. Maybe this thing would let her go if she just left? She'd taken all of three steps before it started forward, first a cloven foot on the ground, followed by another two.
"Oh sugar!" She squeaked, giving in and turning around to run. "Aaaaah!!!!" Siofra screamed, running as fast as her little legs could carry her. She only glanced back once or twice to see if it was still giving chase. Finally, it sounded like the angry hoofbeats of the creature were behind her and Siofra's head turned to check. With her head turned she ran into something almost squishy but still pretty solid. "Gnnnn.. What on the isle was that.." She groaned, having fallen onto her pretty little backside.

Elias was perfectly content, enjoying his sandwich, when out of nowhere something hit him. She was running with enough force that Elias fell off the log. He caught himself, sitting up and feeling mildly disoriented for a moment before turning his head to see what glad run into him.
He stared at the girl lying on the ground groaning. "Oh my goodness!" He declared immediately recognizing Siofra. He jumped over the log so that he was on the same side as her. "Are you okay?" Elias asked, throwing his hand out to her to help her up. What on Telrunya had sent her running into him like that.
Siofra panted, way out of breath. Guardians help her, that thing was scary! And then the voice. Jade eyes shot open wide in shock, and if it were even possible, more panic than before. She'd managed to find Elias alright. By running straight into him!
"OhmygoshImsosorreeeeeeee!" She squealed, seeing the evil looking scary thing. It was a bit of a distance off and still coming towards them. "RUN!" Siofra all but screeched, scrambling to her feet, attempting to offer a hand to Elias so he could run with her. Or fly, maybe they could get away from that thing in the air? She liked that idea, so much her wings started moving, carrying her upwards. "We gotta get away from that scary thing!"

Elias looked in the direction that Siofra had come from, but his eyes hadn't even had the time to focus before the girl was running, and then flying, off. "Huh?" She had said run, and he had grabbed her hand, but everything was happening so fast it hadn't all registered with him.
His wings started lifting him up, mostly to keep his arm from being ripped off, but in no time he was flying side by side with the girl who was just like him. They had been flying for a good deal before Elias spoke up, hoping the danger had passed. "Wow, that was crazy." It was the biggest dose of adventure the boy had in awhile, but it had taken them off the path that he was so familiar with. "Do you know where we are?"
Siofra didn't mean to grip his hand hard enough to rip his arm off, she was only trying to make sure the two of them were actually safe! It wasn't until they were fully airborne and could see the tops of the trees that she realized she was holding onto Elias' hand for dear life. Even then she wouldn't have let go of him until she felt like the danger was gone.
Siofra glanced downwards, hoping not to see the alpaca beast thing beneath them, still chasing. With a sigh of relief, she looked back up to Elias. "Uh... Um..." She looked around "Not a clue. I was following trade routes hoping to find you, but I haven't seen anything in a really long time..." She frowned, starting to chew her lip. It was about then she realized she was completely lost. "Oh my gosh Elias, I'm so sorry! That thing just came out of nowhere and all I could think was to run away! I didn't mean to knock you over!" She'd dropped his hand to clutch at either side of her head. "I'm so so sorry!" Lost and unable to comprehend that she'd completely thrown off this cute guy's entire day by running into a weird alpaca beast thing.

There was some noticeable perk to the flick of his ears, despite the fact that they were potentially lost. She had been hoping to find him? She had been looking for him? Sure, it was something they had sort of agreed on, but it just sounded so much better the way she had said it.
His orange eyes widened as Siofra broke out into somewhat of a panic. "Hey, it's okay. You don't need to be sorry." It wasn't as if he had really been injured or upset about being knocked down. Even being lost, they would eventually find some sort of familiar landmark and get back on the right path. "It isn't so bad, really."
Siofra chewed on her lip more, jade eyes looking over to Elias. "I am sorry though Elias, I scared a really big scary thing and then I made you loose your lunch!" Speaking of lunch, Siofra looked down at her hands. Oh Guardians, she'd lost her own basket in the panic!
"Oh no! I lost my pack!" Jade orbs started to tear up, unable to believe she'd dropped the only thing she'd brought with her from home. It was the only thing she had to carry any rations she would need for the trip home! Her parents were going to kill her when she got home! Even more than before when she left without so much as a note for them. Oh she was in so much trouble.
"Mom is going to murder meeeee"

Elias was kind of bummed, reminded of his sandwich that had gone flying when he fell off the log. He wasn't quite the hungry little caterpaeler anymore though, so it wasn't so dire. Sure the premade sandwich was convenient, "Don't worry about it, I can find something else to eat.
At the mention of Siofra's pack an image of his own pack on the jungle floor, propped up against the log, popped into his head. Yeah... that was a bit more dire. "Me too, but it'll be..." He paused, certain that Siofra was as sick of hearing that it would be ok, as he was of saying it. What were they going to do with both of them missing supply packs and likely a day or more out from either of there homes?
"Let's land here." He said, it was probably better for them to stop and try to reorient themselves then to keep going and get more lost, if possible.
"Are you sure? She really did feel bad for knocking his lunch out of his hands. If nothing else, she knew she could find him something edible to try and make up for it.
The female nodded, feeling the strain of flight taking its toll. Her parents were way better at this than she was. "The sooner we get down, the better." Siofra reached around to rub her shoulder. If they could find a path or something, it would help them immensely.
"Maybe we'll get lucky and find our stuff too?"

Elias wasn't sure that they'd be so lucky to find their things again. Either way his sandwich was probably a goner, he couldn't imagine the little critters of the jungle letting it just lie there on the ground. "Did you drop your pack before you ran into me?" He asked her as he landed softly on the ground and looked around.
They could always head back to the great tree, it was easy enough to see and it could help both of them get back on the right path, but it would make Siofra's journey even longer. Without her pack too, not that Elias couldn't go inside and bring her more supplies.
Elias didn't fly enough to even know which direction they had flown from, how did one orient themselves without ground? "I think we came from this way." He looked at Siofra to see if she agreed. He was also trying to feel that tug he felt that called him to the clearing. They would be able to get back to their stuff from there.
Siofra chewed on her lip a little, trying to think. Where did she loose that thing? Was it back when the scary thing first started charging at her, while she was running? Was it when she'd run into Elias and made him drop his lunch? Guardians help her, she had no idea.
"I... I don't remember." She responded in defeat. Maybe they could find it, but no matter what happened, she was pretty sure her mom was going to kill her for this. First she took off without permission, and then she'd lost her pack! What the heck was wrong with her?
Siofra's jade eyes looked around, "I hope so. I can't really tell." She frowned, starting to head in the suggested direction before pausing. Was it really worth it to try and find their lost supplies? "Maybe we should head to your place? It's got to be a lot closer than mine, and we can get new things. I don't think we're gonna find ours out here." Siofra admitted, not really wanting to. She couldn't tell at all where they'd come from. Of course, she fully believed he knew exactly where he lived, even if they were completely lost in the woods out here.
The teen looked to him, a small smile growing on her face. Their situation wasn't entirely hopeless. She didn't have to worry about her mom chewing her out until she managed to make it back home. Elias was there with her, so there was at least someone she knew. And they could have fun while she was avoiding going home! This wasn't so bad. Right?
