◖Mindset◗
Personality:
Once upon a time, Lafayette was a fiery man. He was bold, strong both physically and mentally, and most of all, he was a strategist. Being a wily Frenchman was what made him all the more useful to whatever militia might've acquired his services. That is still true today in many ways. This old man is willing to use all of his wit to get what he wants.
Lafayette has always been the type to get all riled up about a cause. Normally, this cause has to do with freedom. But sometimes, it could just be about defending a friend's honor. This outspokenness can get him into trouble. He often does not have a censor that keeps him from saying more than slightly rude things towards other people.
At this age, the old Marquis is very tired. After seeing all that he has, he would prefer to go into an eternal rest. He would prefer to see his beloved wife in the heavens again and be reunited with all of his old comrades. Yet, for reasons of curiosity, he stays in this world. Now this doesn't mean that he activity participates in much of the world's bustle, but he does care about what happens to these two nations he has grown to love so much.

◖Historical◗
Past:
((NOTE: Part of this history is fact, but much of it is fiction. As far as we know, the real Marquis de Lafayette was not a vampire. Please keep that in mind.))
This man you may know from another time. He served long ago in an army that made history. He was on the same level as some of the most influential people in the world. His intervention aided a blossoming colony into an independent nation. Yet when he returned home to France, he wound up being shunned by his own people. The Marquis was a firm believer of the French Revolution and fought to overthrow the monarchy. However, the Reign of Terror did not take kindly to the aristocracy. Despite all of his contributions to the cause, he was imprisoned. He was freed eventually and took a grand tour of the place he once fought for. The Americans, as they were now known, flocked to his arrival and he was treated with the utmost respect. He returned to France and lived a quiet life. On Christmas night, 1807, Lafayette lost his wife Adrienne. Her last words were whispered into his ear: “I am yours entirely.” Je suis toute à vous. In Lafayette's own (real) words, "I will never recover. For thirty-four years of a marriage in which her love, her goodness, the greatness, the tenderness, the goodness of her soul honored my life, I grew so accustomed to all that she was for me that she became an indistinguishable element of my own existence…I knew I loved her a great deal, that I needed her, but it is only in losing her that I have been able to separate myself from what is left of me for the rest of a life which had once seemed to me so full and will now forever be empty of happiness and comfort." He walled off the entrance to her room, a sanctuary only accessible through a small, secret door through which he “alone disappeared on certain days of the year to be with her”. Thus, he still returns to France at times to be with his Adrienne.
It should mayhap be mentioned that Lafayette was born into nobility, with two parents with "odd" characteristics. It is why he lives on today. After his tour, Lafayette shrunk back, not wanting to be noticed. He wanted peace, for once in his life. This goal could not be met in France any more for him. Thus he returned to the now flourishing nation of the United States of America. The nomadic vampire found a temporary home in America. And so he roams.
As of late, though, Lafayette has stopped in one place, to watch over a young man who had a certain familiar fire about him. The Marquis took this young vampire under his wing a student of sorts. Often Gilbert wonders whether this kid know that he is being taught by an almost legendary figure. The youngster would have to figure that much on his own, for Lafayette isn't one to tell his apprentice this. What good would it do?

◖Battle Information◗
Abilites:
Concentration
If anything, now Lafayette uses his mental capabilities to his advantage. When in a fight, he doesn't let anything phase him. If given a moment of time in a fight, he can hone his concentration upon his prey and go into a state of insane persistence to accomplish whatever goals he may want and destroy any obstacles. His concentration can be broken by little, but among the things to have broken it, bright lights flashed into his eyes seem to be the most effective.
Advanced Strength and Speed
This is a standard ability that Gilbert's people have. And while the Marquis could have been brutal with these abilities, he has always preferred to not use them. He believes that when fighting, it is dishonorable to use such abilities against a lesser being. Therefore, he often hesitates to use his power.
