Swimming
Taught by Aqua'glow for Academy students of all ages Rules
Please only post when the title states a class is open.
You may enter only two Nightmare's per stage at a time!
Look below to see which activity is available for your character, and pick the appropriate activity for your Nightmares stage.
Do not claim growth points for your Nightmare until the class is over and VerityHattress has quoted you stating you have passed.
Should you do the assignment incorrectly then you will be quoted stating you did not pass the class.
When your character turns in their homework assignment you should write a small in-character RP response of them handing the homework to the teacher. Any length can do.

Class Activity If you have any questions on what class you should be taking, general questions on this class, or what you are supposed to be doing, please pm VerityHattress with the title "Swimming Class Help".
This class has freshling, junior, and senior classes split between [Inexperienced] and [Experienced] classes. If your nightmare hasn't taken the swimming class before at any stage then they would be considered [Inexperienced]. If your nightmare has taken the swimming class before at any stage then they would be considered [Experienced]. Due to this, there are five classes taking part in this thread. These classes are Freshling [Inexperienced], Junior [Inexperienced] & [Experienced], and Senior [Inexperienced] & [Experienced]. [Inexperienced] Freshling [Inexperienced] - Starts: N/A Ends: N/A Unavailable At This Time Junior [Inexperienced] - Starts: N/A Ends: N/A Unavailable At This Time Senior [Inexperienced] - Starts: N/A Ends: N/A Unavailable At This Time [Experienced] Senior & Junior [Experienced] - Starts: January 18th 6:30pm PST Ends: January 31st 11:59pm PST Aqua'Glow had her experienced swimmers come over to the side of the pool, large rings inside of the pool that floated on the water. What did she have planned for her students? "I have set up a sort of obstacle course for you. The idea is to swim under the water, come out of the water inside the ring, go back under the water, and swim to the next ring to do the same. The way you need to take them is down the first row of rings, then swim to the next row once you reach the end of that row, and go down that one. Once you reach the end of the second row, you swim over to the first row and repeat. You need to do them in order, so no cheating by swimming across to the second row early. Any questions?" She held up a diagram of how they were supposed to swim the rings, just in case they didn't understand how to take them.  -------------------- 1. Rp Response: Hailey wasn't sure if she was really interested in swimming or not, she'd never been and couldn't convince Malachi to take it, but the school swimsuits were kinda cute so why not? She fussed with the edge of her swimsuit -- it had began to ride up a bit -- she hadn't really paid a ton of attention to watch her teacher was saying right then. After she was done fighting the suit, all she heard was the fact that they couldn't swim without wearing life jackets. "Augh! That's so lame" she griped to herself before shuffling over to grab up one of the bright orange atrocities.
She picked it up and gave a weird look. She wandered over to the life jacket safety picture that had been hung up and tried to figure out how the dang thing worked. Fussing with the clasps, she got it undone and it seemed to just fall apart from there, "Maaaan... I wouldn't have signed up for this if I knew I had to use this thing." she whined. After fussing with it some, she finally figured out how to slip her arms into their proper places and fussed with the top buckle before it snapped into place. She wasn't sure normally, but not having much of a bust came in handy for something for once.
She continued to fidget and fuss with the orange device of her torment before she finally had it set and straps tightened. She felt like a bloated whale in it and gave a sour look as she half-assed raising her hand. "Done, teacher." she said in a most unenthused tone.

 Be One With the Water - Rolling Username: Shicala Nightmare: Nylea Nylea had hurriedly skipped to class, she liked the idea of showing off her pretty swimsuit and learning how to swim. More the swimsuit but that was how she was. "See teacher? see? see?" she had asked turning two or three times making getting her into her lifejacket a task and a half. Eventually she was in her lifejacket and set to go, she stood next to her peers and looked down the line at them. Then she looked down at herself and pouted for a moment that her swimsuit was not really visible anymore. She looked up to her teacher as the instructions were being given and her frown disappeared, now they get to go into the water and this cheered her up.

Be One With the Water - Roleplay Username: Shicala Nightmare: Nylea Number Rolled: 2 Rp Response: Nylea trailed along after her peers slowly stepping into the water. When both feet were submerged she stopped for a moment and looked down at her feet wiggling her toes just as she often did during her bath. Soon the young girl was into the shallow waters and was staying near the edge to start. When her turn came to leave the edge of the water she did so, taking hold of the teacher's hands for support. After a while her need to hold both hands lessened as she got used to what she needed to do to maneuver across the water. By the time class was over Nylea did not want to leave the water she was having fun. She wasn't great at swimming but she wasn't horrible either, and she couldn't wait for the next lesson as she climbed out of the water.

Rp Response: Kyleigh was not good at this game. She was fair at the actual swimming part, but Nine forbid she actually make a basket. The game itself seemed like fun, and she was sure that if she were better at it she'd like it more. Right now, though? She was just frustrated. She'd managed to make one basket, and even she knew it had been a lucky shot. The ball had hit the rim and done that skirting around the hoop thing before finally toppling into the basket. She hoped the rest of her team did better. Not to mention her feathers were soaked and would take /hours/ to dry.

Rp Response: Taegan found that they actually liked being in the water. It was kind of soothing, comforting. Having to watch for the ball coming their way was distracting though, and they missed quite a few times. "Oops," they said and reached for the ball again, tossing it toward the hoop since they were fairly close to it. A slow smile spread over their face as it actually went in. "Cool."

Conan still wasn't sure how he felt about the water. Some part of him really enjoyed it and took to it rather naturally. However, he felt like his horns were quite heavy under water and his wings were definitely weighing him down. No doubt he'd go back to his dorm after this and his sister would throw 'wet dog' jokes at him for the rest of the day. At least the game was fun though, he definitely found himself getting into it. He even managed to score two point for his team.
'Woo! Go Team Red!" He cheered.

Looking over her class of Seniors, Aqua'glow couldn't help but smile some. It would seem most of them had been having lots of fun today in class, and it her that was an important thing. Part of learning was enjoying when you were learning. It helped nightmares and daydreams to further learn in her opinion. Now to announce the winner. "Alright class, you both did an amazing job, but we all know who won this game today. However, you both did exceptionally well. Maybe we can do this another day?
