Quote:
Irina: One order of meat pies for the sassy flower that hangs out with Armitage? Am I getting this right? *sighs loudly* Katya's directions are the worst.

Quote:
Armitage: She just has to spoil him doesn't she.....
Seymore: I am completely ok with this.... >.>

Quote:
Irina: Seems that way. She sent cookies for you, though? That has to count for something.

Quote:
Armitage: She sent Cookies for me....? Really...? -Is surprised by this- Normally people are freaked out by Seymore that they don't talk to me...
Seymore: -Noms Meat Pies-

Quote:
Irina: Yep. *slides a box over with a paw* Still warm, she made me book it. Hard to run with tea and cookies and such though, so no tea this time. Sorry. *giggles* Seymore doesn't scare Katya -or myself- in the least. We knew a whole bunch like him back home... Kinda miss them.

Quote:
Armitage: Well that is wonderful -Noses around until he feels the warmth of the cookies and takes one, after eating it- Thank you for them, they are quite wonderful.... It's nice that he doesn't scare or freak you out... My friend Aali is very odded out by him... I think he kissed her or something but I don't know... Maybe it was our children having Flowers on them when they came... Who knows... Or well... Seymore tells me they have flowers... I don't see much after all... -He smiles to her-

Quote:
Irina: You are most welcome, and I am pleased to hear you like them. Katya will be happy about it too, and a happy Queen is always a good thing. *tilts her head* Well, that's...too bad.. *she responds delicately* I think Seymore is a most interest individual, so it's a shame they aren't on better terms.. Oh, you have children with flowers too? How interesting. *flicks her tail, not paying any mind when half of it vanishes* Well,I am sure Seymore wouldn't make up a thing like that. Do you, get along alright... *considers him, curiously* Do you possibly need a seeing-eye Raven ? Or can you sense, trees and such? Katya and I used to play stalk-and-pounce, blindman, and vanish... But, it's different to live with that, and Skinwalkers seem to be plentiful here.

Quote:
Armitage: She seemed like quite the happy queen when I first met her. I do... My son says his flower wont stop licking things... and my daughter's flower blows kisses to her mother and hums... -He takes another cookie and munches on it- Seymore has been pretty good about warning me when I am about to bump into major things, or walk into trouble... After all it's his life on the line as well... We do tend to get along, he is one of my only friends at the moment, and we don't tend to stay in the same place long. We wander looking for somewhere that we can't quite remember. -His ears p***k around them at the mention of walkers- I have heard a few growls in my times here, but I have a tendancy to be able to pin point sound. My guess would be that once the eyes are taken your other senses seem to get a bit more intense. -He turns his head to look at her once more- Though I can't see them I can hear them in order to move away. You could be invisible right now but I would still know you were there... Senses really are an interesting thing aren't they...?

Quote:
Irina: Yes. A certain someone has made her very happy, and I am pleased for her. *smiles softly* She is usually in a good temper, much different from our mother. It is part of the reason we named her Queen. As for your children's flowers, they sound rather delightful... But I have a trickster's heart, so that may just be me! It is good that Seymore can look out for you, and I do hope you will have better luck in finding more friends as you seek what you have forgotten. I would be happy to be counted among them. Yes, Walkers are rather terrifying, truth be told. I've not gotten too close to any yet, but I have propensity for lurking in trees which they do not seem to do. *hums* Senses are interesting indeed. Because of who we are,or perhaps who we come from, we do have the ability to vanish parts of our bodies or make ourselves harder to detect... Visually speaking. I guess it wouldn't much help since you can use other senses to find me,but it does come in handy when avoiding unkind beasties.

Quote:
Armitage: -Nods to her- It is nice that she has a good temper. Having a bad temper would keep her from so many things. -He smiles- A trickster's heart can sometimes be better than most. For you most likely see the world for what it could be instead of what is. If no one ever has any fun then what is the point in living? -He laughs a bit- Seymore pulls his weight... And is nice to talk to when things are dark... which they almost always are. -He was hoping to make her laugh with his blind joke, he had gotten over his blindness and adapted to it long ago- Ahh Yes... I fear that I may be one of the only ones who could find you... after all, Not everyone can hear and feel things the way I can, but the differences are what make us who we are. I'm sure you wouldn't change you for the world, it just wouldn't be any fun now would it?

Quote:
Irina: Yes, much different from the last Queen. *coughs* But that doesn't matter, she's well behind us. *she gives a wide grin, even if he can't see it, and flicks her reappeared tail* I thank you for that, I will be sure to tell my sister of your wisdom the next time she is complaining about it. *glances at Seymore* Someone has to do the heavy lifting, I suppose. And given enough time, roots can shatter rock. *at the comment about darkness she couldn't help but giggle, her cerulean eyes going wide the next moment* Frequently dark, oh dear..Oh. I mean, it was funny but, I am sorry for laughing. *she shakes her head* I almost want to tease the trackers I know, but perhaps it says more about me that the only one who can find me is a blind near-stranger that wasn't even looking in the first place? *she hums, thoughtful* Well, it is certainly a comment on how lucky I am, so I'll take it for that. *she grinned widely again* No, I wouldn't change myself, but I've fled the world around me when things didn't work..So i'm not sure how much that is worth.

Quote:
Armitage: You are quite right... they most certainly can... and given enough time, Seymore and his "Pets" would be very happy to attempt that shattering...-For a moment he has a look of shock on his face at her giggling- I see... Pick on the Blind guy...-He pouts for a moment before his smile breaks through and he laughs at her apology and her response to his joke.- It's fine, I came to terms with it long ago... I have fun with it now, and most people don't expect it, well not from me... I am sure you don't give them enough credit. After all I am sure you don't make it easy on them. -For a moment he goes quite and then responds to her- I am sure it would be wonderful to flee the world around you for a short time. -He nods- Everyone needs to get away from time to time... I feel thats part of the reason we started wandering... We needed to get away... -Curiously he tilts his head- Though I am not quite certain what we needed to get away from...

Quote:
Irina: *laughs softly at the mention of Seymore and imagines him shattering a rock just because* I suppose stubbornness and will are equally important when judging on results, though one sounds less flattering than the other. *she gives a faint wounded gasp* Oh come now, that is hardly fair! *she argues, breaking into a peal of giggles at the pouting expression and the sound of his own laughter* Wretch, that was devilish of you. I am glad you have learned to treat it in such a way, it was certainly not my intention to upset you. *hums* I try not to, otherwise what would be the point? *she sighs softly* The land I grew up in was, deteriorating. We needed to leave, and this land seems better for us... So I am glad we made it out. *she tilts her head at him, curious* You did too? Well, that is interesting. I wonder, you are searching for something unknown and leaving something else behind. Perhaps the one was the cause of the other?

Quote:
Armitage: -He smirks at the thought of her upsetting him because of his blindness- My dear, if I haven't come to terms with it by now... When would I have? -He listens to her story, it seemed like a hard thing to leave the land you called home, just to be here- I am glad you did as well... -He ponders her last statement and then smiles- I suppose you are correct, It would make sense that one was the cause of the other. Though it would help if I could remember my past... each time I attempt to remember where I am from or what my childhood was like, my mind goes fuzzy and my head starts to hurt... I have almost given up on remembering who I once was. I have now started to focus on who I am now. -Realizes that they have been chatting for a little while- I do hope I am not keeping you from anything... -He tilts his head in her direction before reaching down and getting another cookie, instead of eatting it he tosses it back to Seymore who happily munches on it- Would you like one? It seems rather rude to eat in front of you without you... I don't know where my manners went... -He chuckles at this- It seems they come and go as much as they want, almost like they have a mind of their own...

Quote:
Irina: *She pouted at the expression on his face, knowing he couldn't see it but unable to avoid the impulse. His sense of humor was devilish, and a Cheshire Cat respected that sort of thing.* Fair enough, I suppose, but still. I think I prefer to set traps rather than to be caught in them, it seems I shall have to watch out for you. *she said it in a playful tone, trying to express that the trait was a rather admirable one, at least among her kind* As for the leaving of home, I miss it and all the wonders it held. But there are wonders a plenty here and that is something I enjoy immensely. It has been a treat, exploring this place. *she tilted her head, large ears swiveling at the statement about his past* That is peculiar indeed. I have a relatively new friend, I understand she was injured when she first arrived here and couldn't remember her friends or family. Healers were able to help her, and the rest took time. Do you know any you could visit, to see if they could help? Not that being the you that you are now isn't wonderful -because it is- but if you wish to recapture some of the memories to see if they are what is guiding you forward, it might be of help... *she trailed off with a twist of her tail and a shrug, then blinked in surprise as he reminded her of the passing time* Oh, no at the moment I have nowhere else to be, just left the herd for a bit of wandering and brought you the cookies. They'll be fine without me for awhile. *she grins as Seymore munches on the treat, quietly delighted* Oh no thank you, I had tea while we were making the cookies, and that of course requires a taste test. Sufficient to say I am quite full, and I do insist that you and Seymore continue to enjoy them. As for your manners, I thought hem quite pleasant, even if you do suspect them of deserting you.

Quote:
Armitage: He laughed at her comments. "I fear I wouldn't be much of a challenge for one such as yourself!" He ate another cookie and placed one on his back for Seymore, his ears pricked towards her, clearly still listening "I love to explore, but it would be nice to have somewhere to call home... It's not like I can take my home with me..." It was a dig at Seymore who simply grumbled at bit and used his tongue to get the cookie Armitage had set there for him, Armi just smiled at her, He listened as she talked about her friend and the healers who helped her. "I am not sure that I have met a healer... Most of the others I meet seem to be... Well... a bit put off by my choice of companion... Though I have no idea why..." He shrugged. "Who doesn't want a Parasitic plant living on them?" He smiled at what he assumed was her, it was where the sound of the voice was coming from. "Well I am glad! I would hate to think that you went terribly out of your way just to bring me cookies..." He laughed a little "Always a taste test. It's no good if you don't!" He was glad that his manners hadn't deserted him this time. He nodded "Well... if you are out adventuring... would you care for a companion? or two?" He said with a bit of a laugh. "I can try and be good company..." He smirked at her. "I would hate to keep you from your adventure!"

"I doubt that very much, my friend." Irina rather liked the modest assessment he provided, though she was inclined to believe he was selling himself short. Or perhaps he truly believed it, but she remained rather unconvinced. Instead she rather resolved to gather more information, before she began plying her bag of tricks. "I wouldn't do you the disservice of underestimating you. It would serve as insult to us both, and such will be avoided when possible."

The Cheshire Cat grinned, watching in amusement as Armitage helped himself to one of the cookies, and then offered one to Seymore. She knew the flower enjoyed the meat pies previously offered by her sister, but it would be interesting too to see if he enjoyed the cookies. When he spoke of wanting a home, she could not help but agree. Such feelings had been a driving force behind the sisters coming to this land, founding their herd, building their new home. She could understand Armitage wanting something similar, though she supposed that here the gauge of 'weird' was far less forgiving than in Wonderland.

"Having a home to return to is wonderful, but I must admit that in my experience at least part of it is that which you carry with you. Still, I imagine that Seymore does have a leg -or a leaf?- up on all of us." She grinned widely as the flower made no remark, content to eat his cookie and ignore their chatter. "Healers are good company to have if adventuring or prone to any sort of danger. I think they are particularly helpful to herds, or those with young. While we do not have children in the herd yet, we have made a few new friends to keep in mind should there be a need for their skill. If you like, we might see about you meeting them. They might be able to help, and at least one I know won't bat an eyelash at you or your companion. We are rather fond of plants, my sisters and I, and the friends we make are also thus."

She hummed when he commented about the cookies, shifting silently on her paws. "I do not mind the journey, gifts for friends are important things and journeys are always good fun. And if I did not wish to travel, Katya certainly would have been pleased to make the delivery herself. Still, if you've a mind to adventure it would be fine indeed to have two companions as I wander. I am sure you will be fine company, and Seymore is welcome of course. Are you sure you have nowhere else to be? The adventure can wait a bit, if you would like to finish the cookies first.”

Armitage moved his ears as she talked, making sure that he could take in everything she was saying. He may not be able to see her, but he could almost paint a portrait of her in his mind. It was one of a disappearing cat, since that is what she reminded him of. Her wit and her charm was that of a cat. He could be in her company for a while, but would never be able to possess her. Anything she did would be because of her own choosing. He smiled at his thought process. 'What a weird thing for me to think about...' He chuckled a bit to himself.

"I would hate to think that I could Insult someone as cunning as yourself... I fear it would bring upon my doom..." He laughed a bit at this. He was truly happy that she had called him a friend. He listened again as she talked about having a home to return to. "One day... We shall find a place... After all, Plants put down roots..." He laughed at her joke, "I am as much a plant as Seymore is I suppose.... Or a Valet..." He laughed a bit more. He listened as she talked of healers and how they were helpful to the easily injured or for herds, when she talked about young ones he smiled. "I see... and is Someone longing for some young ones to run around with?" He teased playfully. He hadn't been a big part of his children's growing, and had missed that part, there was a part of him that regretted missing their foal stage. "I would love to meet them if they would meet me... Everything is worth at least a try." He laughed at her comment of being fond of plants "Well I am glad you are all fond of plants! It seems I may just owe some form of thanks to the burden I carry." He grinned at her.

He thought for a moment on her comment of if there was something he needed to take care of before they went adventuring. She had agreed to let him and Seymore accompany her on her adventure. This was great. He had been traveling for a while after he had left Aali and his children. "I would love to join you in your travels... There is nothing to keep me here... and It's not really like I could find my way back... after all I don't see much of anything these days!" He tried to hide his chuckle. Him finding his way back was a bit of a lie, after all he was able to guide himself quite well. If he needed it, there was always Seymore as well. "Where are we heading off to?" While waiting for her answer he leaned down and ate the last cookie from the box. "They were delicious... thank you very much..." He bowed his head to her. "It's been a long time since I have had something as wonderful."

Seymore had sat idly long enough, it was time that he ask for more of the delicious things she had first brought with her. After all, they were for him, there had to be more that he had not eaten. "If I can interrupt... While that "cookie" was enjoyable... isn't there something with a bit more.... Bite?" He snapped his mouth closed to add a bit of extra emphasis to the word bite. "You were Feeding me... or would you prefer for me to die and leave you both some privacy?" He pouted, though he supposed it would be hard for others to notice his pout.

Armitage sighed at the flower he carried. "Yes yes Meat Pie for the... Sassy Flower..." He smiled at Irina before lifting the rest of the Meat pie to Seymore, who proceeded to happily chomp down the meat pie once more. "He is a bit of a drama queen when he's hungry..." He could tell by the way Seymore moved that he was pouting and this always amused him.

Shifting on silent paws, Irina smiled faintly as she watched Armitage's ears flick, following each rise and drop of her voice. He was truly listening, which was nice, it seemed as though he was not bored. Still, his smile was soft and introspective, as though he were amused by his own thoughts. She rather wondered what those thoughts were, but didn't feel like it was appropriate to ask.

"I assure you that I am more difficult to insult that one might like to think." She warned him, smiling and her tone light. "Not that I recommend trying, for it is likely that doom is what you would find. Still, at the moment you have very little to fear, I am unlikely to unleash my fury upon those I consider friends. Besides, it would jeapordize Seymore, and how could I live with myself?"

His comment about putting down roots made her ears flick, the sentiment striking a bit of a chord even as it made her think of the herd. Still, his comment about young made her laugh, shaking her head. "Not I, not just yet, at least. My sister is the more suited to the role, at the moment. I would simply like to see her settle down, to relax, and be truly happy. As for the herd, I think they would be happy indeed to make your acquaintence. And of course, Katya would love to see you both again."

Irina took a moment to consider her sister, reviewing the standings of the herd before settling on the fact that she was comfortable with leaving to wander. Katya had Catriona and Kit and the others to keep an eye on her. She would be fine while Irina went on walkabout and spent some time with Armitage and Seymore. "We could go for a bit of an adventure, and after that if you wanted to return here I could help you find your way back. Of course, if you wanted instead to visit Underland and meet the herd, then we could do that as well. As far as where we are going, well, some of that can be up to you? I have a friend that is leading a tea herd, and there is a delivery I could make to her. There are also those that host a Faire, that might also be nice to visit? I hear they have good food and music and spar and craft art and it seemed as though it might be interesting to see?"

She shifted nervously on her paws, giving him a shy smile. "I am glad you enjoyed the gifts, and yes, please do let Seymore finish his meat pie. I would hate for him to go hungry while he listened to us talk of adventures. We shall have to be sure that he has plenty to eat while we wander, as well."

~Latonia de la Courtel~

Armitage continued to listen intently. He was excited by the prospect of not only having new friends, but about going on an adventure with one of them. He laughed as she said she was difficult to insult.

"Well I am glad!" He chuckled a bit more to himself "After all... We wouldn't want to hurt Seymore!" He moved his rear foot and the tag around his ankle clinked softly. "I would never dare to attempt such a thing I assure you M'lady." He bowed his head to her, trying to be the ever loving knight.

He listened as she explained about Katya. The other girl he had met who was entirely thrilled with Seymore. His smiled got a bit bigger as he remembered her enthusiasm for Seymore. When the comment about her wanting to see them both again came he was a bit surprised.

"You mean me as well?"
He tilted his head slightly, It wasn't always that he got asked to return places. He laughed "Well I guess to get Seymore there then I have to go don't I?" He laughed, shrugging it off and trying to play it as a joke. Katya wanted to see them again and there was an entire herd that would want to meet him. He could only imagine what they were like. The thought of being there with her in her element intrigued him. His ears twitched as he thought about her herd and what they were like. He wondered if he would fit in to this "Underland" she talked about. His smiled turned to more of a smirk as he thought about actually having a home again.

He paid even more attention when she mentioned the Tea trading herd, but it seemed that her voice got a bit more excitement behind it as she explained about the Faire. His ears twitched once more indicating that he was paying attention. He took in everything she had said. He was quiet for a moment before finally sighing. "Well... I guess we will just have to go and see what all the things at the Faire are...." He said with a resigned voice. Really he was just happy to be with her and be around another that didn't mind his oddness. He was really excited to go to the faire with her. It was only moments like these where he wished he would be able to see. He wanted to see her, and be able to see her reactions when they got to the faire. He smiled as he looked up at her once more "To the faire then?" he said with a laugh. "Then maybe you can show me Underland!" He smirked once more "It would be a royal shame if Ms. Katya thought we were ungrateful or avoiding her..." He hoped she approved of his joking methods. It was no use if everyone around him wasn't having fun.

When she talked about Seymore having enough to eat on their journey he laughed. "I'm sure Seymore can convince his "Minions" to bring him snacks occasionally..." He said turning his head back to the plant. Seymore just stuck his tongue out to play with the Fly that also seemed to follow them around. Half the time Armitage could swear that they talked. It was why he called them Seymore's minions. He nodded with his head and turned in a direction that was opposite the one she had come from. "Shall we...?" His smile was still there.

Irina was happy that this meeting was going so well, though she was more thrilled by the idea of having a companion to go wandering with than she was that the gifts had been well received by both Armitage and Seymore. Katya couldn’t leave the herd, wrapped up with things as she was, but Irina had no such issue. And now there was this, an added bonus.

“Of course we wouldn’t.” She smiled widely, mostly at the flower, but laughed softly at Armitage as well and the way he nobly bowed his head. “I am glad to hear that, Gentle Sir. It is truly a much wiser course of action, of course. I prefer an alliance to war, when it can be managed.”

Craning her head out to brush her muzzle against his ears, Irina giggled again. “Arise, bold knight.”

His sudden, keen silence gave her pause. The fact that he seemed bewildered that Katya and she held him as a friend seemed surprising. It also made something in her sad, and a frown twisted across the Cheshire’s face. “Of course you as well. Why ever not? You and Seymore both our friends of ours now, and we like to feed our friends and have them visit whenever we are so fortunate. As you are a friend, on your own, you’d be just as welcome regardless; I certainly do not wish you to think that you are only welcome because we’d like to visit with Seymore. That is not the case, I promise.”
Katya would have sulked something awful if she was there to hear what Armitage was saying, but her sister was prone to dramatics. It was a bit of the spoiled royal in her, Irina liked to think. If Katya had been there, she probably would have wrapped herself around Armitage and sat there until he loudly agreed they were friends and he knew they liked him. (And perhaps, not even then, if she was honest. Katya could be stubborn.)

“There are many fine teas to drink, and things to eat, at the Faire.” She offered, trying to sweeten the deal. “And flowers and candles to smell, and wares to purchase; fine pottery and silks and weavings and trinkets to wear and to gift. I think there is something there for anyone. Good singers and dancers and actors and such. Things for all the senses, and enough food to keep even Seymore content.”

The fact that he mentioned visiting Underland after made her dance on her toes, excitement making her tail flicker back and forth and her grin wide. “That sounds lovely indeed. And Katya would be most upset if she thought you were avoiding her. She’d probably track you down, and then you would be in real trouble.”

Not that Katya would do anything, except pout… At his smile and question, Irina gave a soft laugh and a nod. “Yes, I think we shall. Off we go then, my friends. First to the Faire, and then home.”

Armitage was happy to have his new friend, and the prospect of having someone else to wander with aside from just Seymore. Seymore was great, but he did occasionally get tired of bumping into trees and other things because the plant would Neglect to tell him things. Especially important things, like there was a tree, a hill, or even a stream or river. It was those minor things that probably lead to his easy going nature, and possibly even his bit of timidness. He couldn't recall his past, but that didn't matter in the current situation.

He smiled as he felt her mussel brush across his ears. She called him a knight which made him smiled even more. He felt like that was a proper name for him. Like it just seemed to fit, he wasn't quite sure why, but it would be something to think on later. He did have a habit of trusting his instincts when necessary or when they popped up. He laughed a bit and said "Yes, My Lady!" in response. Irina didn't care about him being different, nor about him missing his past memories. She had even offered to help him regain what he had lost. It was a different change and he very much liked having her as a friend. It made him happy when she said that they would be friends even if Seymore wasn't in the picture. He was glad that there were people around who liked him for him!

"I am glad to know it, and to have you as a friend. Though I don't think Seymore will be running off on his own anytime soon!"
he laughed at the joke and kept his head turned towards her, he wished in moments like these that he had the ability of sight, but his minds eye was ok at discerning most things for him, so he made do.

When she mentioned the teas and things to eat, he could feel Seymore getting antsy. The plant loved to eat. The list of things the faire had was intriguing indeed. He was excited to be going. This made him chuckle just a bit. "Yes I do believe we shall both enjoy the faire. I know I for one will. It was a wonderful suggestion, thank you Irina." He said still with a bit of the chuckle in his voice. When she said that Katya would be upset if they were avoiding her, and would track them down he just laughed.

"We wouldn't want to draw her away from her duties just to find us!" Were the words he said as he continued to laugh. "I agree, it sounds like we would be in real trouble in that situation!" He listened as she said they shall go off and find the faire, then travel back to her home. He waited for her to put a paw in the right direction and then followed behind her. "Yes to the Faire and all of it's mysterious wonders!" He said in a happy voice. He was excited to see what all the faire would have in store for them. It was something new and just as exciting and he was getting to go with a friend which made it even better.
