Lesath hadn’t had the heart to go out patrolling again for a few days after her meet up with Navi. It had just been too hard and she hadn’t wanted to run into the redheaded senshi again…or into Chariklo for that matter. It would just be too painful to see the people who had once been on her side…and now weren’t.

Tonight she was out though. She had things to get done and she wanted to be back on the top of her game by the new year. She couldn’t let Jett have all the fun after all.

One of the things she wanted more practice with again was those blasted mirror wraiths…honestly she hadn’t really trusted them at all since the incident when they all went crazy…being attacked by those things had been so awful, and truthfully she still felt that she was lucky to have survived the mishaps. But…that was a different time and a different place…tonight was a new night, and she was sure that the blasted creatures would cooperate. They just had to…and if they didn’t, she would smash their faces in.

Carefully, the Dark Mirror Eternal let one of the wraiths out, allowing it to move around her like a strange little ghost. She wondered if the thing ever had realized she had been gone for ages…did it have any concept of time, being trapped in the little shard of mirror like that…

There was a civilian just down the street a ways…but she wasn’t really interested in any energy harvesting…no, that would come later…right now it was just to get a feel for the wraith…

…though if the civilian was silly enough to come closer well. Maybe she’d have to get some energy just on principle.

Lily had been fine after the kidnapping, honestly; aside from the ropeburn and needing to run a load of laundry, she'd never mentioned it to her parents aside from 'I got lost'. They, being good-hearted people, had never pried: as long as Lily did her chores and went to lessons and didn't cause trouble, as long as she wasn't hurt, whatever she did with her free time was her own business.

And, really, that would have been fine. Unlike her classmates, Lily tended to stay out of trouble unless requested; she'd never been gone after by monsters, had never otherwise been in the ever-growing ranks of victims in Destiny City to the otherworldly war. But she wanted to know more, now; who cared about what happened to her? There was no research on this. There was nothing -- well. Except the pretty blonde down the street in black and green, with what could have might have been mist circling her, and the seed of an idea started to wrap its' tendrils around Lily's mind.

She walked towards Lesath, waving a polite hello with pale, small fingers. "Aren't you a bit cold? It's really too late in the year to dress like that, I'd think." This closer, she did look more like the individuals from the carnival -- not quite the same, but with enough similarities that it couldn't be overstated. Maybe she needed to drain energy, too.

Lesath blinked, spinning around and staring at the civilian. Was she really…approaching her? Seriously? Didn’t she know better? Oh well. If she wanted conversation…she would bite. And since the girl approached…well…

She couldn’t just let the wraiths go hungry…

Almost lazily, Lesath shooed the wraith towards the girl, giving a small smile as it made a pass through her, collecting energy as it did so.

“Don’t you worry about me, dear. I’m quite warm enough in my clothing, but thanks for your concern.” The girl was friendly enough, and quite polite. “May I ask what you’re doing out here, all alone…talking to a very strange stranger? Don’t you know that it’s very dangerous in this city to do something like that? You wouldn’t want to get hurt, would you?”

Not that she wanted to hurt the girl…but if the wraith didn’t listen…well. She couldn’t be held liable for anything the damn creature did. Mostly.

Although Lesath may have presumed otherwise - and not unfairly, really - Lily did know what she was doing, or at least more than one would assume. She wasn't as clueless of a civilian as she might have been - and she did notice the wraith passing through her, the slight discoloration of the air; albeit she only raised an eyebrow to signify anything had changed.

Lily was always tired. She was a fragile girl with a terrible immune system. So that sudden keen of exhaustion? Well, that didn't mean very much.

"If I was worried about danger, then I wouldn't be out and about," she demurred. "But thank you for your worry, miss. Your clothing is familiar to me, a little, so I was curious: I met a brash-mouthed boy in red, and a young adult with executioner's colors. Is there any relation? Your outfit reminds me of theirs, you see."

Lesath blinked, waving a hand and withdrawing the wraith back into her bracer. “Familiar, hm? I’m afraid I don’t know who you’re talking about…I’m afraid I’ve been mostly out of commission for the past few months but…you know about us…and you’re not afraid?”

Honestly, she was intrigued and wasn’t quite sure what to make of the girl. “…You almost act like you want to meet people like me…I’m curious…if you had the chance...would you become someone like me? I can make that happen, if it’s your fate, you know.”

If she was meant to be a senshi, it would be terribly easy to bring her to the court, and wouldn’t that be great…they needed a boost in numbers…and she needed a new friend so…

“If you’d like to try, I’d be more than willing to. I was just going to drain your energy, but you seem like a nice enough girl that you deserve more than that.”

The blonde held out a hand, giving what she hoped was an encouraging smile.

"Know you?" Lily giggled like she had a secret, bringing one pale hand up to hide her mouth. "Hardly, miss. But I do have some experience with...well. What might have been your kind. They dressed in equally unfathomable ways, you see." She shrugged, but only barely, the fabric of her cardigan moving almost the only sign of the action. "Ah, well, there was a kidnapping some time ago -- I was part of it. But they didn't seem overtly harmful, if one was to ignore the whole 'knocking young women out and tying them up' part of it."

"...but? To be quite honest, yes. I would like to learn more about your world, as far as that goes. I may not be much of a fighter -" and with that she gestured to slender, doll-like legs - "but I would say I like to help people. So...yes. I would like to be one of you, if it happens to be my fate. And if it doesn't...I don't mind being drained for energy."

Lily took Lesath's hand with a light grip. "How does this go, then?"

This girl was pretty adorable. Lesath’s fingers curled around the hand and she tugged Lily along with her to the nearest mirror. “Now, I’ve done this a few times, and both have been quite successful, but I know it won’t work if you don’t…if you’re not made for it…so I don’t want to get your hopes up, but I really hope that you’re chosen to become one of us!”

She drew the both of them into the mirror and into Mirrorspace itself, giving a little sigh when she reached it. No matter how many times she had seen this place, it still was just so strange and wonderful to see it, ever shifting, ever changing…some strange world that was so unlike anything else.

“Welcome to Mirrorspace. This is a special place that only Dark Mirror Senshi…which is what I am, can access. Hopefully…you’ll be able to come here when you want to as well, if all goes well.”

Lesath made her way to the center of the area, to where the great Black Mirror stood. “Well…here we are.” She looked up at the mirror and gave a smile as she saw it begin to pulse and the glass start to warp the closer that Lily got to it. “I think…I think this is our lucky day, I think you are destined to be one of us after all. Go, go into the mirror and come out as my sister.”

Lily let herself be tugged along, willingly submitting to Lesath's grasp, and to her credit she only looked mildly surprised when the two of them went through the mirror. Destiny City was a strange place, and so oftentimes it felt like a waking dream -- mirrorwalking wasn't impossible to imagine. She could only smile at Mirrorspace, as wonderful as it looked - it was a dream, really. Not a good dream, or a real dream - just...a dream.

"Mirrorspace," she breathed, ghosting fingertips over a wall. "From any mirror? It's gorgeous." And it was, really -- shifting and shadow-like, a painting or a song brought to life as a place. The mirror rippled, and although Lily looked to Lesath for guidance, being instructed on what she should do was easy -- so she stepped into the mirror without a doubt.

And the girl that walked out was undoubtedly different.

She reached up to feel her tiara, examining her fuku, eyes sparkling: "So I'm one of you now, I suppose? Thank you. This feels..." There wasn't a word for it, really, but she could feel how different her body was now. Stronger, in subtle ways. "It feels correct. Oh, and I never asked for your name..."

Lesath had the biggest grin on her face when the girl came out of the mirror. “Welcome to the family! This is amazing!” She didn’t even bother to think of things like personal bubbles, but threw her arms around the newest member of their group. Sailor…whatever…senshi of…something awesome, she was sure.

“I’m Lesath, Dark Mirror Senshi of Moths…I’m afraid I don’t know your name, or what you’re the senshi of…we’d need a cat to let us know that information…I’m sure we can wrangle one up one of these days though…the important thing is that you belong with us…and that you’re home now.”

Home. Family. Love. Acceptance.

Maybe if they really began preaching all of that again to the new recruits…maybe people would stop abandoning the court…

Then again…maybe it was almost a lost cause…but…but no, it couldn’t be. See, they had this new member. Everything was going to be all right.
Everything was going to be all right.

The blonde gave the new senshi another squeeze, still grinning so happily.

All Lily -- well, not Lily now, someone else - a girl with no name, not quite yet - could up upon Lesath's sudden hug was stand there awkwardly; pale, skinny fingers stilling at her sides. This might not have happened, but it had, and that made Lesath happy - practically overjoyed - so even if she couldn't quite breathe under the hug, it was fine, she was making someone happy.

"Ah...there are cats involved? I didn't know that." And she was mildly allergic, too. She'd never been one to own pets: the happiness of an animal, let alone that nobody could truly read an animal's emotions, was a large undertaking. "I hope you know of one, then...if they're involved in this, I don't know of any. All I know, truthfully, is what I learned at the carnival."

But Lesath's enthusiasm was infectuous. So she had to smile, too.

Lesath nodded. “Yeah, uh. Special cats though. Cats that talk and know things about you that you don’t know about yourself. It’s…” She paused, laughing. “It’s actually a little creepy, but we can find one of those for you, I’m sure. Then we’ll have your name and everything will be wonderful!”

The blonde pulled away and took the newly awakened senshi back out of mirrorspace. “The one thing I do know is to go back to your normal self…” Lesath looked around, making sure they were alone before powering back down into Raven. “All you have to do is think about who you are, and the other thing, your powered self will just melt away. It’s pretty cool. I can give you my number and when I find a cat, or if you find one first…whatever happens, you and I can train some, and I’ll make sure you get nice and strong. We’re so lucky to have you with us, you know. You can’t even begin to imagine how much you joining us means.”

She still couldn’t get the smile off of her face and pulled out her phone, ready to take the girls number when she had powered down.

All the senshi did was quirk an eyebrow at Lesath, but she said nothing to contradict any of it. Oh brave new world, that had such people in it: well, what mightn't be true in such a situation? Besides, when she closed her eyes and felt, Lesath was radiant as a star. She was powerful. "Of course. I'd assume there were cats at the Carnival, too, but all I ever saw was..." A pause. "Well. I would know them if I saw them once again, but I'd presume they wouldn't know me like this. So the stories say. Or you'd - we'd - all have been found out already."

Traveling out of mirrorspace let her land gently, heels clicking on the ground. "I understand," came a soft whisper, and with a second of concentration she was back to Lily: with tights and braided hair and silver-stud earrings. "It might be for the better if you locate a cat: I wouldn't know how to go about searching for one, but I'd assume you have experience." She pulled an iPhone -- two years out of date, but who counted, really -- out of a cardigan pocket and rattled off her phone number with the same sort of brainless practice most people came by.

"...Lily. My name is Lily. So you have something to enter me under." She looked up at Raven expectantly, long lashes upturned. "I wouldn't want to put you under Lesath, of course...what should I enter your name as?"

Raven opened her contact list and typed in the name Lily…what a pretty name, a very pretty name. “I’m Raven. Raven Moore…for now at least.” She laughed and shrugged, grinning. “I can’t wait to get to know you better, Lily…I’m so glad you could join with us…I’ll keep my eyes open for a cat so we can get all of your everything together…”

She rattled off her number and finally slipped her phone into her pocket. “Well, I have to get home, Lil, it was very nice meeting you and I’ll call you soon. Take care and stay safe, my friend…” She paused, and then laughed. “I suppose that now we’re more like family, you’re more my sister than anything. My sister in the mirror.” A warmth filled the blond as she said that and she gave a friendly little wave. “I’ll see you soon, have a good night! Keep in touch with me!”

She left the girl then, hoping she had given enough information at least for the moment…she would keep in contact with texts and calls and hopefully she would find a chaos cat soon enough to get the new senshi her name…but that could wait, at least until morning…

Right now she had a baby to get home to.
