Name: Pyewacket
Nicknames: Pye
Breed: NebelungAttached to: No-one yet!
Alignment: Senshi (Order)
Blood Type: A
Fav. Food: Pye adores pie, especially savory pies. She is a big fan of
umami. Plus she loves to gnaw on the pie crust.
Hated Food: Anything too sweet. She finds sweets cloying to the extreme.
Hobbies: Herbalism -- The new-age/occult bookstore Pye lives in, Bell Book and Candle, has an extensive herb garden out back, and that is where she prefers to spend her time when the store is closed. She loves to formulate combinations of herbs for different magickal purposes, both following specific spells she finds in books and her own intuition based on what she knows. She actually packages them up and stocks them in the store for sale! Her owners are none the wiser.
Reading -- As a bookstore cat, this is almost to be expected. Pye will read anything she can get her paws on, and the store carries a variety of books: new-age and occult, of course, but also science fiction and fantasy, history and anthropology, self-help, and psychology. She knows where everything is shelved, too, and can find just about any book in the store just by title. She's a furry new-age librarian. She makes a point of reading the newspaper every day as well, just to keep her paw on the pulse of the city.
Astrology -- Are the stars in alignment? She can tell you! Pye follows astrology almost fanatically, using the stars as her guide for what herbal combinations she is going to work with, and even when to harvest certain herbs. She can also work up your personal horoscope if you give her your birthdate information and help you predict whether it's a good day to do something or not. At the very least, she'll use your sign as a guide for your personality and how to interact with you. (She herself is an Aquarius.)
Virtues: Friendly -- Pye is a very friendly cat, willing to socialize with just about anybody. Whether it's in the bookstore or out and about, she will come right up to you and start a conversation, puss around your ankles, or let you pet her. She's definitely a people cat, and the more people she has to interact with the happier she is. She loves other cats too, and will engage with them in the same manner. The only people she is even remotely skittish around are Chaos-aligned people; they give her the heebie-jeebies.
Knowledgable -- Pye has read a lot of different books and journals on a lot of different subjects, and as a result has quite a bit of information stockpiled away in her head. It might take her a moment to pull something out of her memory, but it's in there somewhere. Her collection of knowledge is eclectic to say the least; it ranges from lunar phases for the year and planting times to how to craft a stone knife to the names of the dwarves who hired Bilbo Baggins as a 'thief'.
Steadfast -- She is allied with Order, and is absolutely loyal to the Order cause and those who support it. Pye will do whatever she needs to help her Order associates; dedicated and dependable, she's a cat you can count on in a pinch. Her only regret is that she can't contribute as much assistance as she wishes she could, being a cat and all. Her claws are sharp, though, and her resolve is great!
Curious -- If there was ever a cat that proved the reputation felines have for being curious, it's Pyewacket. She is a nosy creature who wants to know everything, which is why she reads so much. Knowledge is power, especially if you know it about the right people and things. She will stick her little blue nose in everyone's business, just to see if there's anything worth mentally filing away. She probably knows more about magick and the occult at this point than the owners of the bookstore do.
Flaws: Space Cadet -- Perhaps it's because of hanging out with all sorts of new-age adherents (or in a herb garden with fresh catnip), but Pye can be something of a scatterbrained cat. She acts space-y too much of the time, and can come off as a bit of a ditzy airy-fairy little thing. She also has a tendency to forget what she was doing and hop on to something else mid-stream; she has various projects and formulae she is working on scattered all over her secret kitty workspace out back.
Chatterbox -- Pye is a talkative creature, sometimes to the point where she doesn't know when to shut up and be quiet. Given half a chance, she will talk your face off. She gets more talkative when she is nervous too, which is not a good thing at all. She will hop from one subject to another when talking, spouting whatever random tidbits of info surface from her memory.
Superstitious -- Again, probably as a result of where she lives, Pye is somewhat superstitious. She's not wary of black cats or anything silly like that, but she pays attention to things like jinxes and follows the stars and phases of the moon religiously. If the signs and portents indicate trouble, she has to really struggle to do things rather than hide under a pile of blankets with a pawful of talismans until it passes. Luckily her resolve usually wins out, though she'll still be wary and cautious.
Curious -- Yes, this is a virtue AND a flaw! The adage "Curiosity killed the cat" absolutely applies to Pye. As noted, she will stick her little blue nose into everything, sometimes places where she shouldn't be sticking it. This has caused her to come close to losing one of her nine lives on several occasions in the past. That doesn't stop her, though -- she is insatiably nosy and curious and unconcerned with her personal safety when it comes to learning things about stuff. She likes to have her toe-beans in everyone's metaphorical pie.
Challenge: The stars are NOT in your favor!
