User ImageNorrin had a proud look on his face. He'd prepared the most spectacular afternoon and he knew it. The Guardians had blessed him with the perfect idea, and with it everything fell into place. Of course they were shinning upon this new union of two loyal Guardian followers! In Norrin's mind the pair could really bring some Guardian loyal discipline back to the City. It was certainly waining...

He shook the thoughts from his mind. There would be plenty of time to think and discuss it with Gale later. For now he had to keep his mind focused. His clever plan was almost complete. He had called upon Gale like he had promised her he would, and now with her on his arm he was leading her through the city to a familiar part of town. Here was where the famous wine master's special vineyard was grown. Right behind his own home stood erect the most beautiful sight. A sizable building shining like crystal, and lined in silver stood before them. From the outside you could see the rows upon rows of grape vines.

"Welcome, my lady." Norrin said as he reached out and opened the greenhouse's door for her. "To the most renowned vines you will ever have the joy of seeing with those lovely eyes." He followed her, closing the door behind them and offering his arm out to her once more. "It is a sight that warms my heart. The loyal and heathens seem to fall and rise the same, but some times the Guardians out do themselves and really bless some skilled hands." he said with a sigh of appreciation. Once she had taken his arm he began to slowly lead her down the rows of vines so they could appreciate it together.

"The Guardians truly outdid themselves with this particular work. What glorious wine I have tasted from these very vines." he said as he reached out to hold a bunch in his hand. Gingerly he plucked one and held it out to her. "I appreciate you meeting once more with me, lady Gale, it is an honor."

Her silver Knight had indeed called upon her again and to turn him down was absolutely out of the question! Guardians had blessed her life with such a man she wasn't about to let him slip through her fingers. Which is precisely why she draped herself along his arm quite proudly, shooting anyone who dared to stare quite the snob look. This was her catch and she wasn't going to let anyone steal him from her. Oh she'd boast for days about this.

When they arrived at Ephiel's personal greenhouse however, her eyes sparkled and a laugh escaped her lips. "Oh Norrin Darling, you didn't!" she tutted. But of course he did, it was right in front of her! She had seen it only few times before, as Ephiel was mostly always busy. But a chance to spend time inside and with a gentleman such as Norrin himself? Well never the opportunity had arose until now! "Out done themselves indeed....and not just with Dear Ephiel's wine." she smiled, turning to him.

Extending her hand softly, she gently plucked a grape from the cluster and brought it to her lips...where she paused. A smirk spread across her face. "As if I'd say no to you. More meetings like this and I'd say you've found yourself a permanent place at the top of my circle." she winked in jest. Did she really mean it? Perhaps. For him, it was a very strong possibility but Gale wouldn't let herself get too caught off guard. Still, every second he proved more and more promising. Finally, with the grape touching her lips she proceeded to pop the rest of it into her mouth and welcome its exquisite flavor onto her palette. "I am intrigued to see what else you've in store my Dear." she cooed gently, her eyes never leaving his.

Norrin tried to keep his face from beaming too brightly with pride at her words. Instead he tossed her a charming smile at her tame excitement, but he could tell she was pleased none the less, “I had to pull a few string, he's very protective of his vineyard, but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle.” He winked playfully at her, patting the hand she held him with appreciatively. Her reaction was well worth it all.

“Well, that's more than I could ever hope for!” he grinned at the thought. Not only in the inner circle but the top of it? He supposed he wouldn't mind being there. Would this mean he'd have the chance to call on her whenever he pleased? That'd be charming for sure. “I would be more than happy to provide you with such high class entertainment in the future, my lady.” He handed her a few more grapes from the vine before her next comment made him pause.

“Ah, you are a clever one. Of course it doesn't end here.” With her hand on his arm he continued to lead her down the rows till they made it to a small clearing. There a beautifully carved bench with a matching table sat, an expertly woven blanket in many colors draped across it. On top of it was a platter filled with an assortment of cheeses and fruit. All were very high class, only the best would he allow pass over her lips. Next to it was a smaller table with a line up of fine wines and a few different sized glasses.

This time he couldn't keep the proud look from his face as he led her over to the table and ushered her into her seat. “I've prepared a wine tasting for you, some of the best from Ephiel's private cellar.” Once he was assured she was comfortable he walked over to the long wine table and proceeded to open one up and pour her a glass. Once they both had their glasses and he sat himself next to her on the bench he raised it, “Once again, to our beloved Guardians. May their faces of light always shine upon this union."

Gale laughed softly and gently waved a playful hand at him as the silver demon spoke of his task at getting Ephiel to let the pair use the greenhouse as a place for an exquisite date. "As he should be, wouldn't want just any vermin running amok back here now would we. Just two very elegant and...dashing pae such as ourselves." she teased, her eyes fluttering lightly.

"Oh such promises. Be careful my dear or I may hold you to them... of course... not that I already plan to do so." she laughed again at his comment of providing her with high class entertainment. This was high class and then some. Well beyond it in fact. It may seem boring and uptight to others but this was the kind of thing she enjoyed. Never silly playful games or tasks, but serious work followed by a well earned relaxing drink and thoughtful words.

But she was right he said? Well of course she was but to hear it from his lips! "Oh?" was all she said as led her down the rows and towards a small but beautifully lit clearing. Her dark eyes sparkled as she took in the scenery. The bench carved with the finest of craftsmanship. The stunning blanket that looked like a field of soft rainbows, the platter of cheese and fruit, all of which looked perfectly appetizing. Why she could already feel her tongue beginning to water!

As she set down and made herself comfortable on the table she turned her gaze back to him as he spoke. "His private cellar! Oh Norrin you scoundrel you!" she teased, laughing. She of course did not mean it, instead was quite surprised. Gale took the glass from him gratefully, letting the scent pass over her nose before holding it up to his toast. "To the Guardians, and to this union. May it always be blessed." she said softly, clinking her glass against his before letting the liquid pass over her lips. A pleased gasp escaped her as she shut her eyes, a pleasant tingling sensation rippling across her skin. "Marvelous!" she exclaimed, reaching over to grab a small bite of cheese to follow it up with, taking the tiniest and daintiest of nibbles.

Norrin gave Gale a sly wink when he handed her the wine glass at her scoundrel comment, “I just do what I must when I am given the privilege to call upon someone so high class. I couldn't imagine anything so lowly or boring as a simple walk or a gift, no, I will go to whatever lengths necessary to assure the female I take time for is given the very best.” He tossed her the most brilliant smile at her. He was proud to say such truths. He had no time for frivolous fancies, he was a serious Pae who had to get down to business and this was a business he was becoming very serious about.

He sat himself beside her, but made sure there was enough space between them that it was comfortable. Never would be invade the female's space if it was not invited. Instead, there was enough elbow room that they could comfortable drink, eat, and look at one another during pleasant conversation. Through it he'd make mental notes of her demeanor to assure himself that he wasn't coming on to quickly. As much as he enjoyed her presence, there was nothing more disgusting than a male that made his intentions strongly known. No, he'd take his time and feel their situation out. Even if it took many days like this, he'd gladly do it. Her's was a rare breed and he wouldn't let the chance slip through his hands.

The thoughts caught him off guard. What was he expecting? She toasted in return, the word union ringing in his ears. He was thoroughly enjoying the chance to spoil such a high class breed of female, but is that all that this would turn into? He played with the thought for a moment before shrugging it off. Yes, in the end if that's all this turned into- just moment of conversation with someone who understood him- then he'd be happy for the rest of his life. It was so over due to him, a chance to find someone so like minded as he. He'd taken to locking himself away with his work for far too long. He deserved this tiny bit of heaven.

In glee he took to his wine. What a sweet scent and sweeter flavor. He'd started them out with the very best, not that any of them were lacking, but he had to put on a good show right up front. As the wine would go so he assumed they would follow. If any did end up lacking he was sure they wouldn't know it by them. Then again, she may not allow her wits to leave her in the presence of a male. In which case he'd gladly hold off the other bottles for next time. Ah, the thought of next time did excite him so.

“I am pleased you enjoy it. It is possibly the best he has. Now, I never did get a chance to find out what it is you do for work.”

His first comments caused her to pause, glass at her lips as she looked at him, a sly smirk upon her lips. "Is that so? Then I must make sure that I am the only female you take the time for." she teased, but was half serious. If he would go to that great of a length to spoil any female, well she wanted to stay on top. It had been sooooooo long since she had anything like this and she wasn't about to lose it anytime soon.

Sure there was Ephiel but he was usually always busy and for as much playful sass as she gave the angel, the two weren't.... close. Norrin on the other hand.... well she just had a feeling. Call it ladies intuition. He felt like someone to keep around and not just for fancy outtings, whine and cheese. For much more. But did he feel the same? Would it even work out that way? Only time and the Guardians could tell.

But the angel had hope. Finishing off the last bit in her glass, she reached over and took another small chunk of cheese, nibbling it thoughtfully. What did she do for work he wanted to know. "I run a jewelry shop." she said then paused. A soft crisp laugh left her throat. "Well, technically I do. I own the store but I employ others to physically run the store for me. I'm there when needed but mostly take care of things behind the curtains if you will." she smiled, setting her glass down on the table before turning to look at him.

As she turned, she dared to angle her knees a little more closer to him, eyes waiting to gauge his reaction. With her hands nestled in her lap, one atop the other, she returned the question to him. "And you, Sir Norrin? What is it that you do?"

Norrin was taken aback by her comment. Of course he'd never let it show on his face or his actions, but mentally he played around with her words. He was surprised to find that he'd be more than willing to only take his time out for her. There were plenty of beautiful and Guardian loyal females in the city, but none so refined as Gale. He'd finally found someone who took as much pleasure in the finer things in life like he did. Others did not compare to her tastes. It was refreshing.

“Jewlery? Ah, yes, I should have known. A lovely lady as yourself would certainly have an eye for beautiful things.” he paused at her words. “Own the store now? You're a business owner? My dear, Gale, you continue to astound me. It tells me so much about your leadership and determination, it is not easy being one to build something like a business.” He held a glass up to her as an informal cheer and took a sip.

He took notice of her empty glass and rose. He set that glass aside before grabbing her another from the table lined with bottles and popped open another. He came back with fresh glasses for both of them and sat down beside her, “This is an experiment our dear Ephiel recently played with. Do be honest about it. He has yet to share it with the public, but does not care so till he's sure it pleases the finest pallets.”

“What is it I do...” he mimicked her words thoughtfully, swirling the contents of his glass before taking a sip. “I suppose you could say I am a business owner myself.” He sipped on it a moment, giving himself a second to reflect on her movement. Was it his hopeful mind that was leading him to believe she was drawing herself near to him? He pulled the glass the back and cleared his throat, before lifting a piece of cheese from the table and holding it out to her. “You could also say that what my business provides is for refined tastes only, and goes rather well with wine.” His eyes began to sparkle with his teasing.

“What I do is what I am hoping you are currently taking pleasure in. How does it taste? Have you had anything quite like it?”

Gale tutted in laughter, waving a hand at him nonchalantly. "But of course I'd have an eye for such things." she teased, tossing him a playful look. She was a lady after all, why not jewelry? It was a woman's best friend, or so they said. And so far, it had never treated her wrong. "It wasn't easy mind you, of course, nothing in life really is, but then you already knew that. But I had great support from my darling parents and now find myself where I am at today." she said modestly for a chance, a slight tinge coming up to her cheeks. It felt good to be praised for her hard work and efforts, heck, just for someone to notice period!

Her attention shifted minor to his refreshing of her glass and his words. But she hadn't let her guard down and waited for him to answer her question. She eyed the bit of cheese he held up and smiled. "Of course. I should have known considering how expertly you set the place up." she smiled, gently taking the bit of cheese and holding it to her lips. She paused a moment, eyes locked on his before taking a bit and savoring the flavor on her tongue.

Her eyes fluttered shut and her shoulders rose a bit at the taste. "Exquisite! Splendid!" she beamed, gazing back at him. She half wondered if it was silly of her to be so enthused over a tiny piece of food, but she continued to find herself approving of his creations for more reasons than just its taste. But for him as well. It was hard to explain.... could she even explain? She wanted it to be good, good for him, though no doubt in her mind it was already so. But the fact that he made it, just something about him made it seem even more..... "Never, have I tasted something quite as refined as this. Norrin, do you ever cease to impress a lady?" she laughed, returning her glass to her lips and letting the flavor sink in.

"Alone, I would say this wine is as all Ephiel's wines are. Best of the best.... but paired with your delicacies.... well. I wouldn't be surprised if he came to you asking for partnership. This is a flavor I think best matched with a treat." she smiled quite sincerely, her words holding.... perhaps a double meaning. A meaning relating to themselves.

“I couldn't agree more. There is nothing easy about building an empire, but the Guardians certainly seem to bless those who are willing to work at it. It seems I am not the only one to feel the Guardian's pleasure towards my craft. You yourself and your work must be of great cheer to them as well. It brings me such joy to be able to share this commonality with you, dear. I would so love to stop by and see the place for myself if you will have me.”

The color that rose into her cheeks caused a soft smile to turn up his lips. How he did love the reactions she gave him. It was so refreshing to meet another like minded and now business owner. How much more could they have in common? He wished this day could continue on for ages, just to learn something more about her. It was hard to find such great company as such, especially one that believe as he did, enjoyed the same flavors as he did, and could hold their own in a conversation.

He held her gaze, not dropping his smile for a moment as she took a bite. It was an honor that such a lady as she would speak so highly of his craft. He had a proud look on his face, “I hope I can continue to impress such a lady as yourself. I would hate to find myself ever becoming a bore to you.” The words were honest. To think he wouldn't have the chance to enjoy these little moments with her ever again... Is that what it would take to keep her around? Could he really attempt that? Now, now Norrin, this wasn't a time to have doubts and uncertainty about yourself.

“You are outdoing yourself on the compliments, dear Galelan.” he reach out and took her free hand, brushing his lips across her knuckles in a grateful gesture. “It makes my heart warm knowing that a lady of your caliber could be approving of such a pairing. Ephiel is a master, for you to believe myself to be as such a level...” his words trailed off for once finding himself speechless. What was he reading in her eyes?

“I would hope we could do this more often.” the tone of his voice changed. It dropped in volume, making it deepen and more between just the two of them, “Conversation is easy with you, enjoyable. I hope I am not speaking out of turn, but if you...” he paused, his hand still holding hers as he looked away a moment before taking in her eyes again, “If you would like to perhaps make meetings more of a reoccurring event, I couldn't lie and say I wouldn't appreciate that...”

“You don't have to answer now.” his voice returned to its normal volume and tone, “And if I was out of turn, please forgive me and let us blame the wine and return to how things were. Speaking of, would you like to taste another? I have other pairings for us.”

She couldn't help but smile the more he spoke. She felt as if her cheeks might crack if she smiled any wider, of that she was most certain. Goodness it had been so long since she found herself actually having fun. A concept she had long tucked away, shoved to the farthest recesses of her mind, a notion now left for babes and the simple minded. "You continue to flatter and I find myself reminded of ideals and feelings I had not thought possible in many moons." she said softly, glancing down at her glass as she swirled the liquid inside.

"Business is never easy. Life, sometimes is never easy. Lately I've just been so wrapped up in the professional end of things...." she said then trailed off with a wistful sigh, allowing herself a moment to regain composure. When his lips brushed across her knuckles a tingle shot down her spine. Her eyes snapped shut and inwardly she let loose a silent, small girlish squeal.

'Keep it together Galelan, you are a lady! Not a giddy child.' she chided herself mentally though the regal-esque smile never quite left her lips.

Her dark gaze fluttered open once more as she beheld the silver demon before her. What a pair they'd make.... what a pair. Hard working, loyal, professional but also able to find a moment to enjoy such simple pleasures in life. Companionship, talking, fine wine and delicacies.... the answer seemed simple. Almost ridiculously so. "I would hope we could do this more often.... in fact, I'd expect nothing other." she smiled, this time her own voice dropped so that it was meant for him and him alone. "With or without other samples, I think I'd enjoy it just the same." she nodded, tipping back the rest of her drink before holding out the now empty glass to him with a wink.

Norrin’s eye brow rose at her when she mentioned feelings involved. Was this her way of confessing to feeling the same as he? He hadn’t felt his soul gladdened in this way in a long time. So many seemed to be falling into the hands of the Fae or the island. It was sad to see loyalty waiver as such, but not so with her. He could find himself speaking with her about the Guardians until the city fell from the sky!

“Have you now?” he asked, taking a moment’s pause to indulge in some of the treats before them, “Well, I suppose this means I might have to help you take your mind off of your work from time to time. A business woman as yourself deserves her time off. I know of many worthy places to take someone as yourself if you’d allow it.”

‘In fact, I’d expect nothing other.’ Her words were like the sweetest wine ever tasted! He’d taken a chance and had received such a gracious answer, only the very gracious he’d expect from her. For the first time in their meeting his smile beamed at her. He tried to keep his emotions unwraps most of the time, but her words caused such a spilling over of them he couldn’t help it. Well then, he’d have to get to work coming up with his next big plan for the pair. Maybe he’d be blessed to have some deeper conversation on the Guardians or her profession. He’d also love to show her his own facility if she’d so be interested in his work. His mind was racing.

“You do me such an honor dear, Galelan.” he said as he stood, grabbing them another bottle. He poured her a taste before doing the same for himself. He sat by her again, holding up his glass in another toast, “To whatever future the Guardian's have planned then. I am thrilled that you will be a part of it.”
