Lately she had started to take notice of how her elderly mother grew chilled rather easily. V'demhe didn't like the idea of that, especially as she was going to be moving to the mainland and her mother would be left without a dutiful daughter to look after her. So she had taken it upon herself to try her hand at needlework. Miniature size that is. At that moment Dem was staring down a needle. How did others manage to use such small things and not hurt themselves? It was beyond her. So far she had managed to p***k her finger more times than she could count. In truth the young Alkidike was growing more and more frustrated as she kept trying.
Still, she was halfway through the troublesome thing. All she needed to do now was finish with the hood so that the item would be completed. Lowering her gaze to the woven wool she gripped like a slippery fish V'demhe hoped her single mother would appreciate the attempt if nothing else. Her stitches were all over the place and looked as if a drunk youngling had been responsible for the whole thing. Ah well, the thought crossed her mind, I am used to working with larger needles and they tend to be sharper. A rough snort left her as she set back to work hoping to have the piece finished before she had to leave the islands. The young amazon was anxious to return to Jauhar where she knew her mate was waiting for her.
It was about an hour later that she managed to finish the last row of stitches that was needed to make the cloak whole. Grinning in triumph she set the evil needle down and lifted the article of clothing up so that she could inspect it. While it wasn't the most good looking thing her mother would own it would certainly keep her weary body warm from errant winds coming from the waters.
