Even just going out shopping for video games or comic books was an occasion worth dressing up for to some extent for Paws. Today she'd made a trip out to Comikazi to pick up the latest issue of Run Criminals and given what had happened in the last issue she was dressed like a school filly. Peeking out from under the hem of her skirt were rubber tentacles that wiggled as she walked. Phony were giving her weird looks, but the mare didn't care. That twist in the last issue was probably the most exciting and surprising thing she'd read in a while!

The mare was squealing with excitement as she left the store, barely able to keep from ripping off the hot pink wrapper of the special alternate cover. So great was the struggle that she kept peeking into the bag as she made her way down the sidewalk on her way back home. "Oh man. Oh man- "

"WHOA! OH MAN!"

Was that? Was that stallion dressed like who she thought he was dressed like. "OH MY GOD ARE YOU GLOIN? THAT IS SO COOL!" She screamed as she galloped up towards the bearded stallion.

Fire Forge didn't leave his home much. He was never one much for interacting much with others, he didn't mind others just liked being alone. Today though he needed to get supplies, he had orders to fill and needed more supplies. Most of the time he got the materials delivered but he needed just a few things this day.

He'd secured his tools, they were in a saddle bag on his side, and was on the way home when he heard the filly's commotion. He scowled a bit, Gloin? "Who is the Gloin you mention lass?"

"Oh." Paws blinked, her brow scrunching up as she rubbed her chin. "Not Gloin, huh? Hmmm..." The mare began to pace in circles around the stallion, her tentacled skirt jiggling as she walked. "OH! I know! You're Nori! I can't believe i couldn't see it before!" She gave a giggle and extended a hoof. "I'm Paws Button, but today you can call me Doug D. Douglas." With a wink she gestured towards her costume. "Or not, if you haven't read Run Criminals, which you totally should by the way. IT'S AMAZING."

"So, you must be a big L.O.T.R. fan, huh? Is there some sort of meet up going on today or were you just in the mood to dress up? Oh! Oh! Is Nori your favorite character?" She squealed, bouncing in place. "Are you on your way to some small con? Can i join you?!"

Fire Forge looked over the filly and noted her odd clothing. Nori? LOTR? She kept spitting out unfamiliar terms to himself. She must have been one of the fan-fillys that he had heard about before.

He scrunched his brow but shook her hoof back. "Well met Paws Button. I don't know what this LOTR or Nori you speak of is but you can call me Fire Forge." Fire would be lying to say that he had not been approached before because others thought he looked like someone called Gimli sometimes. This mare was probably doing the same. "Unfortunately there isn't any of this 'con' things you speak of, though I am unfamiliar with that term."

Not on his way to a con, huh? And he didn't know about LOTR either? "Oh man you're really good at staying in character! You even talk so prettily." The mare giggled. How silly of her not to realize it sooner! This stallion was clearly one of those intense live action role-playing types. Of course in character he wouldn't have any idea what she was talking about! Paws practically swooned. He was so dedicated! She wished she was this good at it. She always got too excited and would break character.

Oh wait! If he was roleplaying she shouldn't try to stop him. Clearing her throat the white earth phony tossed her head. "It's a pleasure Fire Forge. A 'con' is a gathering of people and in this case i'm talking about fans!" The girl beamed and smoothed out her hair with a hoof. "So, since you're not going to a con, where are you off to? Is there some sort of meet up downtown today?"
