I've never really felt comfortable with my roleplaying style and I find it kind of cringey from writing all the pointless detail and just walls-of-text that don't really add much. I'm sorry for those who actually have to deal with this. I think this because my Rping is out of date. I'm taking a step back to re-evaluate my roleplaying style to make it simpler and can read out better details. Also, cut back on color texts and add pictures like everyone seems to be doing.

Any suggestions or anything to say in general helps.

Actually, for me, the details help 'paint the picture'. So far, I haven't had a problem.

I suppose I'm used to writing out details as far as the characters go. What they're thinking, fidgeting, tone of voice, etc. Helps others get a feel for how their character might view my character. If they're trying to pass off as being happy but their tone of voice is contrasting that. etc. Also, if you're using an original character, or one others might not be familiar with, an initial description of the character helps them to visualize your character.

With the environment, however, I usually only add detail if I want others to know something specific. If it's just a generic location, description won't matter much. However if its a place you might want to be on the same page as the person you're rping with, then description might help. That way you're not in the middle of a fight or something, and all of a sudden they do something that you weren't even aware might have been in that location.

As for pictures, I've used them in the past before too. They're great if you have the patience to copy paste the extra coding every time you post (If you post frequently during the day that is.) I was going to make some character post art once I got caught up with some of my gift art for next month.

Though, as long as you make a paragraph post, or a few sentences if all your character can do is reply to a question or something, we don't really care if you don't fill a page with text. I know other guilds that require a paragraph to two minimum. Not here. So I wouldn't worry about it too much. Some of us are just so used to making nice and long posts, or write stories so we don't really even think about how long we're making a post.
