Mnyiri stretched her arms above her head, jutting her right hip out just enough to feel a satisfying pop along her spine. She had been sitting for so long that it didn't feel possible for her body to still work. The rains could do that to you; at first she thought she could just run through it, but slipping around, stumbling over exposed roots and loosing sight of her sailscale had nailed it. For the remainder of the day, and the bulk of the night she had stayed in a tiny little cave, barely big enough for her to sit down in. Now the day was bright, and Mnyiri was ready to begin her search once again.
First things first, though; she had to find Jioni.
Leaving her belongings in the cavern, Mnyiri set out to poke around Jauhar. While the rainforest was far from new to her, the area was. No matter what the sisters said to her, they were a familiar threat, but now she was much more exposed. Earthlings could pop out at any moment, cut off her antennae and who knew what else.
"Jioni!" She cupped her hands infront of her mouth, each step bringing more noise than the last. As if her plethora of accessories bouncing with every movement weren't enough, the bells in her dreads pretty much sunk the 'unable to hunt' aspect of her life. "Jioni, come on out now! It's stopped raining!...Aisha help me, when I find you..."
Maybe she had flown up into the trees? Mnyiri pouted, and turned her head up into the thick, leafy cover. "Don't think I won't come after you!" She pointed her finger into the trees, one hand threateningly placed on her hip.

Briella had been going through the forest for some time, heading out as soon as the rain was gone. Ilyra had been depressed lately, the loss of her mate being something she was taking hard. No matter what Briella tried to do nothing seemed to cheer her up. She was constantly in a sate of sadness. Today Briella decided she was going to make I'yra's favorite food, and after that she would stop trying. Maybe what her daughter needed was just space and time. Briella personally thought an adventure would be good for her daughter, but it seemed Ilyra wasn't ready for that just yet.
Amadi flitted around, doing the same thing he always did, nothing good. "Amadi stay close, I don't want to—," before Briella could finish her sentence it seemed something had caught his eye from up above and had him flying high. With a roll of her eyes Briella started to climb high into the trees, trying to keep up with the sprite. Hopefully whatever he saw had something to do with food.
After a few minutes of chasing him through the trees Briella stopped on a sturdy branch. "Come on Amadi, today I don't have time for your games. We have a mission. We have to gather Ilyra's favorite fruits before heading home. I know you know what they look like, it will be so much easier if you just come back and help me." Briella waited for the sprite to reappear, knowing that it would take forever to find the fruit without him.

Why that little... With Jioni still gone from sight, Mnyiri had little choice but to climb into the trees to search for her. Her boots slipped on the smooth trunk, and she scrambled to reach for a thicker branch to grab onto. Thankfully one was close enough, otherwise she might have fallen...all of four feet. Whatever had possessed the sailscale to go so far up had better be worth it! Furrowing her brow, Mnyiri tried again, this time grasping a vine between her hands and pulled herself upward.
From her position she could hear noise, just enough to make her antennae twitch, but Mnyiri couldn't see anything. Her bells chimed when she tilted her head back, squinting into the canopy above. She perched herself on a little branch, listening for something else and hearing only muffled noise. "Gotta be her," she murmured. Instead of climbing up and announcing herself, possibly giving Jioni the chance to escape again, Mnyiri crept up the trunk. She kept her body as close to the violet bark as possible. And when she was close enough...she reached up through a patch of leaves and wrapped her hand around what she had hoped would be a tail or a clawed foot with a triumphant "ah-ha!".
Instead, she found an ankle.

Frustrated with waiting Briella was about to move to another tree when all of a sudden she felt a hand grab her ankle. Although for a second she thought it might be Amadi trying to play a trick on her at the sound of a females voice, and the realization that he couldn't grab her whole ankle, Briella yanked her leg forward, trying to get whoever had grabbed her to let go.
Once free she jumped to a higher branch to see whoever it was that had grabbed her. Although she assumed that they meant no harm, who would grab someone's ankle as a form of attack, she didn't want to give them an opportunity if that was the case.
"Who goes there?" she asked as she looked down through a patch of leaves, unable to see more then a shape of a person.
Of course this was when Amadi decided to appear, landing on Mnyiri shoulder by mistake and letting out a shrill scream in surprise.

"What-?" Mnyiri didn't get the chance to realize her mistake before the ankle she'd grabbed was wrenched from her hold, nearly causing her to lose her grip on the tree itself. She squealed and reached up for the previously occupied branch to steady herself. You've done it now, Mnyiri. "Sorry! So sorry, I thought you were-" Mnyiri had been jovially pulling herself up onto the thicker branch; had been. She was halfway through the process of swinging her leg onto the branch when the screaming creature caused her to lose her grip entirely.
Shrieking herself, both out of surprise and fear of the free fall, Mnyiri landed on her original branch with a loud thud. Luckily for her it had been there to catch her, but luck was relative at this point. The ache in her back said otherwise. "Ow ow ow ow-" She whined as she rose up to straddle the branch, reaching back to rub at her lower back.

As soon as she heard the young girls voice Briella calmed down. It wasn't an attack after all, and the girl seemed sorry. She saw the girl climbing into view when all of a sudden Amadi came into view. "Amadi—," she was too late to stop him before he started to scream. Great, he was making what was about to be an okay situation horrible. It was just like him. "Amadi I'm right here, stop shrieking." she said as she climbed down to where the girl had fallen.
"I'm so sorry, my sprite must have mistaken you for my daughter because of your hair and been startled when he realized you weren't here. Here, let me see your back." She was sure that there was something around that she could use as an ointment for the pain. "My name's Briella," she offered as she stuck out her hand. Amadi landed in her hair, clutching one of her dreads and peaking out from them. "And this nuisance is Amadi."

"I-it's okay, really," Mnyiri tried to smile, but her hand brushed over a scrape and she hissed, biting her tongue in an effort to keep from cursing. The bark must have scratched her or at the very least rubbed her skin raw. "I'm sorry for grabbing your ankle, Briella. I've got my own little nuisance, except she's a sailscale and she's still being a butt by hiding from me." She grinned, reaching out to shake the offered hand while her eyes traveled to Amadi. "And I'm sorry I scared you; I've never seen a sprite before and you were pretty loud, you know."
Twisting around on the branch, Mnyiri moved so that Briella could get a better look at her back. "My name's Mnyiri. It's pretty neat that your daughter has hair like mine; does she have mixed blood as well?" In all actuality, Mnyiri hadn't met many hybrids outside of her deceased mother and what allies she'd obtained through the years. The thought of learning about more gave her enough pep to mostly ignore her minor injuries. "Is that why you're being so nice to me? I mean, not like you wouldn't be nice to me if she wasn't but it helps."

She nodded knowingly. Although having a companion was something that she was very grateful, especially one as rare as Amadi, she knew they could be a pain. "Ah, your sailscale might be what caused Amadi to run away from me in the first place. He loves chasing after other companions." she gave the sprite a hard look. He didn't need to scream in the others ear. Briella had a feeling it was more because he was being mischievous then actually scared. At Mnyiri's apology Amadi seemed to become brave and moved from hiding out of Briella's hair to chitter at the girl.
Briella laughed as she examined the girls back. "He talks a lot. Wish I knew what he was saying." she mused out loud. The girls back was scratched, but it wasn't anything serious. "It might hurt, but really you'll be fine. Just a small scratch." When Mnyiri asked if Ilyra was a hybrid Briella shook her head before realizing Mnyiri wasn't facing her. "No, she isn't a hybrid. She looks like one though. I guess in a way she is what has given me the outlook on Hybrids and Earthlings that I do. She was always given a hard time by extremist and most purebloods so I make sure to be extra nice tho those that are different."

"Oh Aisha, you are precious." Mnyiri cooed, listening intently while Amadi chattered away. She didn't have a clue as to what the little thing was going on about, but it didn't matter; he was just too cute! "Jioni's up there somewhere;" Mnyiri gestured vaguely to the canopy above. "She probably caught the scent of some fruit and went off in search of it. I swear, her stomach is bigger than her brain." Still, she couldn't help a grin. The creature might have been a pain, but it was Mnyiri's fault. She spoiled the sailscale rotten.
Moving once again so that she could see Briella, Mnyiri attempted holding her hand out, palm facing upwards, in the hopes that the little sprite would land on it. "My sister's like that; at least, that's what I've been told. I've never actually met her, but I'm looking for her. It sucks that they've had to go through all that, but at least your daughter has someone like you to look out for her. I hope my sister's got someone like that too." At least Mnyiri could pull her hood up over her head and blend in with large crowds. If she looked as odd as her sister then she wouldn't have stood a chance. "You haven't seen any other sisters around with white hair, have you?" It was too much to hope for, but maybe Briella could point her in the right direction.

At her cooing Amadi decided that he liked the girl and jumped into the girls hand, grabbing onto her thumb and placing his face against it. Briella laughed. Although he could be a trouble maker, a huge one, he could also be very affectionate. That might be part of the reason why she had kept him around for as long as she did. "Ah there is very good fruit in this area, I was actually originally following Amadi to it. My daughter has been pretty down lately, so I was hoping that having some of her favorite fruits would help cheer her up."
"I'm lucky to have found her as well, she has been there for me no one else was many times. I'm sure your sister also has someone who is looking out for her." When Mnyiri talked about her sister Briella grew curious. She had never heard of anyone being different in the way that Ilyra was, nor had she ever come across another sister with white hair. Sure she had seen one or two hybrids with different colored hair, but none of them were pure like Ilyra. "I'm sorry but I haven't seen any other sisters with white hair. My Ilyra's the only one I've ever met. I don't even know where you'd start to look either. The two of us have travel quite a bit and never saw anyone like her. Well other then the mystic that was banished that is, but even she didn't have white hair."

Mnyiri's whole body seemed to shrink inward as she resisted the urge to squeal and blurt out a rather loud 'awwww!' at the same time. If only she could have one of her own; Mvua would eat it if she tried. "Oh? That stinks. You can't go wrong with food if you want to cheer someone up, though; at least, not with me." Not that it took much to get a smile out of Mnyiri. She wore her all of her expressions on her sleeve; the good and the bad.
Though, in that moment, her smile seemed to fade into a pensive frown. "You found her...? So, she isn't yours in the traditional sense? An adopted girl, one that isn't a hybrid but has white hair..." She trailed off in a murmur, her shifter styled brows furrowing together. When Briella said her daughter's name Mnyiri jolted. Still careful to hold Amadi the right way, she leaned forward, her eyes wide and mouth slightly agape. "That's her name! That's my sister's name. Does your Ilyra have red eyes? Mine has red eyes and she ran away from home when she was little." Her words were becoming more rushed, as if she were on the edge of a great discovery and couldn't be bothered with slowing down. "I think she would have a bow of some kind, and her skin should be light, really light, like a pasty light but with more color I guess?" Mnyiri struggled to remember the snippets she'd heard before and it showed in the way her whole face scrunched together when she thought too hard.

Briella nodded. "My daughter is normally the same way. My mother did always tell me that the way to a woman's heart is through her stomach," she said with a laugh. Hopefully the way to heal Ilyra's heart would be through food as well.
Briella watched as the younger sister thought, not quite following her train of thought. "Yes, I found her when she was young. Her mother wasn't all that fond of her so she ran away..." But before she could continue it was as if something struck Mnyiri. The more the younger girl talked the wider Briella's eyes got. She didn't know Ilyra had a sister, it was never mentioned to her. She wasn't sure if Ilyra even knew, would her daughter keep something so big from her?
"Yes, that all describes my Ilyra perfectly. She's albino, that's what the earthlings call it, so most of her skin is an off white color with a greenish tint to it." She was shocked and not really sure what to do. Did Ilyra want a sister? Was this girl mistreated by their mother? She wasn't as young as Ilyra was when she ran away, but maybe this girl was running as well?
Then she remembered that Ilyra's mother, which seemed to be this girls mother as well, was dead. She frowned. "I'm sorry for your loss."

"That's my sister!" Mnyiri didn't mean for her voice to reach such a high pitch, but she couldn't contain herself. This was..this...this was everything she'd been searching for! This was better than a lead! Briella knew her, she'd raised her...
With her free hand she reached out to take Briella's in her own. "Please, I beg of you, let me talk to her. I have to know...I have to know what really happened..." She was shaking, eyes wide and moist from stubborn tears. "...I won't take her away from you, I promise, I just want to talk and if she doesn't want to talk to me I won't make her, but she's..." For a moment it had all come out in a hurried rush, barely contained with one breath. Then she seemed to pause for a deep, hopefully steadying breath. "...she's all I've got left."

Her sister. Briella couldn't even wrap her mind around the thought of her daughter having a sister, and a hybrid one as well. She squeezed Mnyiri's hand, wanting to do good by both her daughter and the young girl standing in front of her.
"How about this. I will talk to Ilyra first. She's not in a very good place right now, and this might actually be good for her." It could be bad for her as well, but Briella didn't want to think about that. She was hoping that wasn't the case and that Ilyra would be happy to find out that she had a sister and a tie to her past. "If she agrees to meet with you then we can set something up."
But where would Mnyiri stay, it had to be close to her home in case Ilyra said yes. "There is an inn near where I live, if you want I could put you up there while I talk to Ilyra?"

It wasn't...exactly what Mnyiri was hoping for, but it would have to do. She squeezed Briella's hand and nodded. Her sister had run away, so she supposed it made since that Ilyra wouldn't even want to see her on the best of circumstances. "Just...just tell her she doesn't have to like me. She can spit in my face, that's fine, all I want to do is meet her." It sounded bad once she said it that way, but Mnyiri was more than a little desperate. She had no one, had left the only home she had known and was literally roaming Jauhar just to find one Alkidike. Even if Ilyra refused to see her...Mnyiri knew she wouldn't leave so easily.
"Does the inn take earthlings as well? I'm traveling with one, and I won't leave her behind." Rhonann might do well on her own for a while, if she left Jioni and Mvua with her. But Mnyiri would worry and with all of the emotion already crawling through her brain she needed something to ground her.
